How the frick do I game with proper posture?

I always end up pushing my neck towards the monitor despite wearing my glasses. It just feels more comfortable hunched over with my neck totally perpendicularly forward. What the frick do I do, it hurts to keep it straight now.

this post is alarming, but so are the replies to it. you should tell this anon that working out isn't just about getting big; it's about strengthening your body for the long run

and don't take what i'm saying as YOU GOTTA GET BIG because it's not, and i know people deflect like this for this topic

Christ you're such a dumb shit. Why would muscle memory related to a sitting posture have anything to do with all those exercises
I mean yes the muscles involved in pushing your chest out are shortened and need stretching but consciously developing betters for sitting is the only solution

This and also just stretch your neck out every once in awhile. I just sit up straight, or even lean back a little, and push my neck back and my shoulders forward slightly a few times till the tightness releases.

Find some wall with space. Lean against it completely straight with your heels also against the wall. Raise and lower your arms in a circle from above your head down to your thighs without bending.

Now do that every couple of hours for the rest of your life.

My doctor actually recommended doing it every hour, but that's impossible I know. Still, if you don't want to frick up your neck and lower back, you have to do something. You don't want to enter your thirties with lower back pain and golem neck.

This is fairly natural. Sitting with your spine perpendicular to the chair is worse, and it hurts because the human spine is not evolved to do it. Slouching is natural, the only alternatives are either standing up or laying back

    1. Do the wall exercise.
You'll find out what the feeling of proper posture should be so now you know you should try to maintain it during the day.
    2. Make sure your pillow isnt fricking thick that it's make you face the wall in front of you. The pillow should be thick enough to support your head but still facing up at the ceiling.
You should probably do some body weight exercises, your muscles are probably atrophied. Focus on your shoulders with pull ups and push ups. search Hybrid Calisthenics Pull Ups on youtube if you're too weak to do a proper pull up.

Practice mindfulness. When I started becoming truly aware of keeping my back straight 24 hours a day, it felt awkward, like my shoulders and neck wanted to stretch back forward again. After a couple months it became so natural to keep my back straight that I prefer sitting without a backrest. It's better for all your organs as well because keeping your back straight and shoulders back gives everything the space it needs to function better. Like anything it's just self discipline, which sucks at first then becomes addicting.

workout core muscles, stronger abs will result in less sloching, less leaning over. you might be leaning over so much because you're looking at a screen all day and you can't see the screen unless you're right next to it.

just walking around and getting general exercise as well, it will improve your mood and energy levels
