This makes it seem like Goo temporarily fell into 4th place during biking but eventually ended with the same thing he did in swimming (biking = swimming), not that he came in 4th in biking and it was actually marathon = swimming

The game punishes you for doing the quiz and puzzle mini game rooms. Your reward is just another rock candy.
You're suppose to do the obstacle course and battle rooms to get weapons. One obstacle course can be skipped since it gives the Super Slap which is inferior to the fry pan.
I had way more problems with the counting barrels room.
