Speaking of completing the Pokedex I'm trying to get a Pinsir in VC Yellow from the Safari Zone and it's awful. It costs 6500C at the Game Corner for one, which is 130000 Poke in 130 individual coin purchases that I just don't have. Please get into the damn ball, you stupid bug.
Right, here's a trick I learned 24 years ago.
Go to Safari Zone
>find area with scyther
>run down your count and get kicked out
>max repel
>to to waterside
>surf to east seafoam keeping repels active when they run out
>beach, then jump back in the water and finally let repels run out
There, the strip of water one tile east of the land had unsigned encounter tables and would just use the last map's encounter table (and as most met a tentacool, they'd get them and not know) for its RE. I found it when I met a tauros just before beaching one day and testing it. You can encounter battle any Safari Zone bastard that way, just by activating the nmap in the area by triggering an encounter then keeping that table in memory.
I'd do that but I believe that Cinnabar and Seafoam's surfing encounter calls were properly deleted in Yellow, so I can't really do that. At least as far as I know.
That sounds similar to the Missingno area in R/B along the coast of Cinnabar (after doing the setup).
I recall as a kid getting an additional Mewtwo by going to Missingno tiles right after the encounter in Blue.

I would really appreciate a sort of bulletin board sort of trading where you can post a 'looking for' where you offer a pokemon and maybe some money or items, or a 'trading a' that has requirements for what it can be traded for.
