How the frick does Larian just get a free pass?

>horrible act 3 performance issues and major quest chain breaking bugs. Patches ironed out some issues while making performance and crashes worse in most cases
>generally buggy everywhere to extent that any other developer would be crucified
>every patch introduces major new bugs, like not being to click past doors, which actually has a major impact on game experience, or the game remembering your choices completely wrong
>accidentally cut out hours of content and thousands of voicelines
>patch 4 introduced a bug where enemies literally take minutes for a single turn
>PS5 version was outright unplayable for weeks, as in the game straight up did not work
>now the xbox version is deleting dozens of hours of progress, AND THEY'RE BLAMING IT ON MICROSOFT WHEN NO OTHER GAMES HAVE THIS ISSUE
The insane thing is how often patches make the game buggier and perform worse. Is their QA process just completely broken?

Who gives a flying frick about Xbox. The game works perfectly well on the platforms that matter, mainly PC

Best RPG ever made, don't care about some bugs on XBOX, I play on PC anyway.

      >Larian shill force just completely ignoring all the major issues that were listed for all platforms.

Not really. The door issue OP mentioned is in PC, unless they fixed it at some point leaving on the Larian sync makes saving a multiple minute wait, I'm still seeing plenty of enemies taking forever to move and interactions breaking characters (just today I tried to pick up the Githyanki egg and my character stopped moving until I saved and reloaded). Playing with friends the game often randomly treats viewing other players' conversations as private even if they aren't set to private, including locking me out of seeing the intro cutscene to Act 3 while my friends were watching it, so I got to look at the campsite without being able to move. That's not to mention how often cutscene camera angles are pointed at the back of characters or just at nothing, and how often animations bug out in cutscenes or end seconds earlier than the cutscene does. Also at various points there has been a bug where moving platforms will only carry the primary character and the rest don't move so they fall Wile-E-Coyote style.

The game isn't release Skyrim bad, but it has been plagued with bugs on PC since its launch.

The game is good and you can tell people actually cared about it so people are .lre forgiving. Also most of the issues are in act 3 and I would bet at least half of the normalgays haven't gotten that far yet.

On one hand, I had to undervolt my GPU to keep from crashing. Not during the beta, not during release, but 3 weeks after release because of a patch. I stopped playing after 50 hours and this still was not fixed.
On the other hand, the game is actually fun.

      release is beta, anon
It was in an alpha state before release
      It's still in beta

I wonder who the next vidya pump and dump will be

It's still focusing on the 'strong' female characters despite written like stereotypes 99% of the time
It used to be blacks then zombies/survival shit

I reckon we'll possibly be seeing the concept of 'social' relationships of characters in games in an idea to make morons feel 'close' to the character

          Not like that, no
          Persona is already a niche.
Imagine something like standard RPG where you get long monologues about how the character is feeling. Like 10-15 minuutes. That kinda shit, all 'voiced' by AI with 'emotion'.

The completion rate on Steam is comparable to any other big RPG. Cry harder you fricking homosexual.

Anon, is there ar reason your only argument had to try to goad that user into a flame war in an attempt to distract from a fact?
anyway, less than 37% on steam go t to act 3 which is very worrying since Act 3 is where the meat nad potatoes really is for a D&D game with more choices

The trick is that Baldur's Gate 3 is the best game everyone started and nobody finished and most people that did start it aren't going to admit they tuned out as soon as they realized the combat was slow-ass turn-based tactical RPG shit.

No it isn't. It doesn't even have the same completion rates as AA or indie RPG's on steam.

BG3's audience is basically the same as the WEG coomer patreon audience. As long as they get to coom they will gladly coomsoom whatever is slowly dripped out to them.

Once a year at least one game will receive widespread dicksucking that elides all criticism. BoTW, Hades, Elden Ring, now BG3. It's like winning the lottery as a game dev. Who will be 2024's big winner? Can't wait to see.

These issues are to be expected in cRPG development. Just look at Owlcat's newest cRPG; it's a buggy, broken mess after the first act. It's becoming standard for the initial few hours to receive the most QA and bug-fixing while the latter half of the game will take a few months to receive bugfixing passes. Most "players" moved on after the first 2-10 hours in most cases anyway so no rush.
Not even gonna mention Starfield. That cRPG needs an entire fricking game patched in to it. It's an empty hole right now it.

They had a whole month where the PS5 version was unplayable after act 2. Zero blow-back.

It's easier to forgive shit when you're having a good time. That's why Skyrim didn't mind-break everyone despite being fricked for some on launch, cause it when it work you were having fun.

Larian is my probably my favourite studio and I haven't bought the game yet. They pulled this same shit with OS1 and then again with OS2. I'm not getting it until it's finished. I'm not eating my fill while it's broken and incomplete again.
