Pservers realistically do not close, it has happened so few times that it's statistically irrelevant.
I have played pservers for pretty much a decade and I had only one occurence of it, which was a bad wotlk server that clearly wouldn't have been able to script Ulduar anyway.
I played Nostalrius to lvl 25 to chill with friends a bit but I hadn't touched it for months when it closed and I didn't care about it.
Blizzard literally cannot enforce a C&D unless you host in the USA with a publicly known address

All xpacks up to MoP included are currently playable and almost retail quality. The remaining flaws that make it a "almost" being completely irrelevant for most players anyway.

I just refunded dragonflight. I think I gave it a fair chance but like 12 hours in it was just absolutely insufferable. The world is really ugly. The plot really boring. The quests insufferable and seeing how endgame is always the same garbage with mythic keys and broing raids I just couldn't justify spending 50 bucks on that preorder in order to get dragonflight. I doubt I'll be coming back for retail. SOD is fairly fun and I don't need to pay extra to play it

yeah it does. A single dungeon actually mogs any classic raid but thats not the point. You can cry like a little child all you want but the expansion fricking sucks. There were so many issues before that too with people abondoning dungeon runs for no reason. Leveling was absolute slog and a horrible and unfun experience and once I reached 60 and started dragoncringe (I tried shadowcringe before that and it's even worse) it was full of bots farming these dudes. On top of all those trans characters they shove into your face but I was willing to overlook it but god damn it's garbage. Either way I just don't even want to keep playing. I don't want to do those boring mythic keys and the raids are absolutely soulless.
I think that it's a good thing that there are active 2x4 farm groups out in the world. It's one of the last remaining breaths of MMO flavor remaining in this game.

The promise to players was that if you play enough and jump through enough hoops, you can get the gear and you can be a virtual bad ass.
