1. You're not allowed to use the charged shot during levels, only against bosses.
2. You're not allowed kill robot masters with their weakness in their levels, only in the boss rush at the end.
3. You're not allowed to use E-tanks during battles.
4. You're not allowed to use Rush Jet or similar mechanics to skip parts of the game.
5. You're not allowed to use continues.
I found this to be the best way to enjoy MM games. Challenge runs like buster only or no E-tanks can be fun on their own, but take away too much from the experience, namely having fun with the different weapons and collecting E-tanks, which are often reward for challenging optional paths.

You know a game has fundamentally lackluster gameplay when the playerbase is obsessed with self imposed challenges to make it more interesting. with Pokemon, i understand the attraction because it's more than a game and people love the world, with Mega Man, it's just some people's obsession with a blue toddler who is dollar store Astro Boy
Most people seem to find Mega Man too hard even without self imposed challenged, it's why the most popular game in the series is the one with easy mode and an utterly broken weapon. This is obviously for experienced gamers.
It's the opposite. The gameplay is so good that you can play it however the frick you want to and have fun.
This. These games are a blast no matter how many times I replay them, even without giving myself any kind of self-imposed challenges.
>making Pokemon ANY more bland and boring by limiting what you can do
lol
The games are interesting without doing challenge runs. In fact, they're so interesting that people are motivated to replay them in different ways instead of just moving on to a different game.
Mega Man isn't interesting or good, they're half assed jank shovelware
MM is the definition of shovelware, and fanboys won't admit it cause they're deluded. Somehow, this blue tard has become a B-tier icon of gaming even though his games were never good, just had a shitload of them out
When all you have is an NES or SNES, you'll take any poor attempt of an action game that you can get you're hands on.
>You know a game has fundamentally lackluster gameplay when the playerbase is obsessed with self imposed challenges to make it more interesting.
So Pokemon is garbage?
Brawl club ass rules.
>rps for the smash ball and you can't knock it out
just ban it if you're gonna make it that boring
>No taunting. It makes the others feel bad.
Shut up you stupid little homosexual.
cool but then can I atleast shoot diagonally?
don't tell me how to play, you're not my mega mom
Why stop at 5 easy-peasy points, OP?
6. You're not allowed to kill skippable enemies to not waste ammo and keep challenge around as developers intended.
7. You're not allowed to miss any secrets.
8. You're not allowed to turn off console until you see ending credits.
Why stop there?
9. You're not allowed to use E-tanks at all.
10. You're not allowed to use weaknesses against bosses, even during the boss rush.
11. You're not allowed to use the charged shot, ever.
12. You're not allowed to use Rush, ever.
13. You have to avoid Fliptop's items. If you accidentally pick one up, you have to reset.
14. No deaths allowed. If you die, you have to reset.
Those go against the point of the original post and just sounds like tryhard bullshi5, have a nice day
>6. You're not allowed to kill skippable enemies to not waste ammo and keep challenge around as developers intended.
Makes weapons that freeze/block enemies useless. Denied.
>7. You're not allowed to miss any secrets.
Games like 6 have a bunch of different paths so that would require playing the same stages multiple times. Denied.
>8. You're not allowed to turn off console until you see ending credits.
It really doesn't matter since you're not allowed to use continues. Redundant.
See:
>Challenge runs like buster only or no E-tanks can be fun on their own, but take away too much from the experience, namely having fun with the different weapons and collecting E-tanks, which are often reward for challenging optional paths.
I still think my method is the best.
- no E-tanks
- Mega Buster only, as much as possible anyway (sometimes you have no other choice)
That's it
How many friends do you have? I'm guessing 0.
1. Invite a friend over, grab some booze, pass the control after finishing a stage or losing a life.
2. Play until you get bored or it’s time to go somewhere else
