Wouldn't call Crash 1 bullshit. Longer levels are annoying, but I think it has the best atmosphere out of all Crash games.
Crash 2 is my fav and one of the best platformers there are. Very easy to get into and have fun + 100% is nice.

You had to do it without dying for all gems, not just the colored ones. If you can't complete the first level without dying, you don't deserve any of the gems anyway.
