>well yes, I'm a delusional fanboy how could you tell
More like a delusional FFVII orbiter that LOVES to smell and taste his gay butt-buddy FFVII's farts.
High acclaim
The actual game id/will be trash tho
Same old story
Better than it deserves
i just want the combat to be fun this time
the only people i've met who enjoyed the combat are people who get fanatically into replaying games and absolutely rabid fanboys who ignore any criticisms
The only valid criticism about the combat is dealing with the handful of flying enemies in the game. That's it.
Anything else is user error.
>camera
>half the spells feel terrible because they don't track
>dodging isn't particularly useful because many enemy moves DO track
>blocking isn't rewarding it's just less punishing
>interrupts feel like shit, promotes a very slow playstyle
yes, there was room for improvement on my side but the combat and game flow are just off, it's not as good as many other action combat systems, and doesn't feel as consistent as a good turn based system.
Off model cringers
Lower rated than FF7 R, and it will get lower sales. The first game had some interest in the novelty of a train wreck, I don't think that will carry over.
SE's mismanagement of the project turned what should have been a total cash cow to save the company, into a shit show.
My biggest concern is that with the issues they're having with Final Fantasy, they'll feel compelled to frick with Dragon Quest the same way.
DQ is bland as shit so if they actually do something interesting for once it would be good
Frick that. A Dragon Quest game should be like a Godzilla movie. You know exactly what is going to happen, you know exactly what you are going to get, it doesn't try to 'subvert your expectations' or deliver anything other than what is advertised on the poster, and if it delivers it can be absolutely amazing, and even if it falls short of that it will still give you what you want.
SE chose Final Fantasy as their brand to be 'experimental', and they completely wrecked it.
It will sell half as much as remake.
This is literally FF16 numbers, Final Fantasy single player games will be dead if it turns out to be true.
nice black bars, phonehomosexual
that looks like vomit
>last game had daily threads that all hit 500+
>everyone was talking about it
>there was real excitement for remake
>rebirth comes along
>lit's now less than 2 months before its release
>literally nobody gives a frick
What went wrong Ganker?
nobody gives a frick
but enough about metaflop
RENT FREE
>he says while in every FF thread
>Famitsu
so...it's gonna be a hit...just like....16....
time Jannies and destiny bullshit broke the camel's back square enix might go bankrupt since there is a real possibility that remake 2 will be a huge fricking financial catastrophe
I think that is why they've delayed the DQ3 2DHD remake. They want it to be in the same fiscal year so they can use the revenue it generates to mask the losses Final Fantasy is causing.
The fiscal year ends in less than 3 months.
You're assuming that this FF7 game will launch in that time frame, or will have the majority of its sales.
You know they'll be milking this as long as possible with the PS5 Pro version, and the Epic Store launch, and then the Steam launch.
Rebirth launches in less than 2 months. If the majority of Rebirth's sales are outside of the 2024 FY (April 1, 2023-March 30, 2024), that wouldn't help the DQ3 HD-2D Remake mask Final Fantasy's losses.
moron
I'm just waiting for a PC port. Remake was fun but I don't understand why they thing Final Fantasy can still be a system seller.
Depends, the gameplay looks incredible. The only worry is the story.
Will they eventually stitch it all together as one game?
Rebirth is when they actually have to put their cards on the table and show us exactly how this version of the story differs from the original. We can already guess the main thing - Cloud somehow saves Aeris from dying. But the other big difference is that they want Zack to be more present in the story. I don't think this will play well with critics. That Crisis Core stuff is very niche, it's strictly for weebs and fanboys. Normies do not give a shit about Zack.
Yeah. 90-95% of people who will play remake did not play cc or even know it exists. Depending on how much damage Zack causes, it wont go well with critics.
Imagining the japanese guy who played ff7 in 1997 and when he plays remake he sees zack coming from portals during Aerith's death like a fanfiction.
That guy spends all his time pulling for waifus in his favorite gacha games.
>Yeah. 90-95% of people who will play remake did not play cc or even know it exists. Depending on how much damage Zack causes, it wont go well with critics.
From what i've seen the only reason why Remake didnt get a 90 was because of how polemic that ending was. Now just imagine if they frick up Aerith's death. Her death is one of the most iconic scenes in videogames. It is not just the last boss of part 1.
At this exact moment every theory is valid, so many people are still on board because we dont know what exactly is going on. Rebirth is the point where these devs will reveal the route they took, and this is where we'll see a true division of opinions in the fanbase.
most normies are just going with whatever Nomura throws in front of them, it's og gays who seeth over Zack and Aerith surviving
But ff7 in general is at least famous in really specific moments. Any type of subversion, as example, during Aerith's death, wont go well. Even more if it happens through a sudden new character that wasnt supposed to be there.
>these two are the most important characters in rebirth
>i don't care for them
i'm fricked VIIbros
Zack is like the jannies, he is totally related to whatever new shit is going on. But i doubt he is the most important character of the game.
>But i doubt he is the most important character of the game
they keep saying that in interviews tho. there is some grand idea they gonna use him for, it's so obvious. Plus they mentioned how he will play a big role at the end of the game and we all know what that means
It is weird, they talk how he will explore whatever is the dynamics and rules that exist in the world of ff7. This shit screams lifestream but who knows how that will work.
I feel like the best route is that he's still dead.
he is not in the lifestream because the trailer shows that he meats all the NPC's from the first part like Marlene and that Yuffie clone, so it seems to be a parallel world
They won't kill Aerith, because that is what everyone knows happens.
They won't kill Tifa because nobody will buy a FF7 game without her.
So it is really just down to killing Zack or Cloud.
Aside ccgays who would cry killing zack would have 0 impact. It is almost funny.
maybe moron cloud will be new cloud because our cloud is gonna be the one that gets penetrated to death this time?
>So it is really just down to killing Zack
Why bring him back at all then? Killing Zack would be the most underwhelming shit ever
You say that like FF7R hasn't been the most underwhelming shit ever.
it's kinda like with the sequel star wars movies, the first one was meh but there was still hope that the next part might be real good, and we all know how that ended.
This entry is kinda interesting because it will tell 100% what they want to do with it. So it will either save the project or kill it.
the Zack and Clouds world will merge at the end, the Planet will be 'rebirthed', which will happen just before Aerith gets murdered and Zack has to witness that which will lead to his emo arc
There I just told you the end
This shit sounds so bad that i will pretend i didnt read your post to keep my mental health.
The fact they think that shoehorning Aerith's ex boyfriend in that scene to make her death more impactful is atrocious.
You'll eat those words when Rebirth earns a 90+ metacritic, sells 5M copies day one with 10M more by the end of the year and wins GOTY at The Game Awards in December.
Maybe, but I don't think that I will.
>Bazinga! It's an interjection used to rub a good joke in someone's face or cheer yourself on after a personal win, popularized as the catchphrase of the character Sheldon Cooper on the sitcom The Big Bang Theory.
https://www.dictionary.com/e/slang/bazinga/
>The Big Bang Theory is an American television sitcom created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, both of whom served as executive producers and head writers on the series, along with Steven Molaro. It aired on CBS from September 24, 2007, to May 16, 2019, running for 12 seasons and 279 episodes.[3]

VIIR has yet to hit 10M and its been out since 2020. Maybe the open world will push more people into buying it, but I find that unlikely.
For some reason they gave the game on psplus one year after release to push ps5's sales. This probably killed the legs because ps plus has like 50m subs.
Rebirth will reach pc a lot faster because the exclusivity is smaller, so we'll see what happens.
>Rebirth will reach pc a lot faster because the exclusivity is smaller, so we'll see what happens.
Just like Kingdom Hearts right
KH had the misfortune of being EGS exclusive, which completely murdered its PC chances.
Imagine
>they let Zack survive
>only to kill him later anyways
>they then go on a tangent about "destiny"
Odds of it happening?
That's why him still being dead is the only route i can see a satisfatory ending. He can do good in whatever place he is, leave in peace and it wont undo his crisis core ending, which was very good.
Killing him again would be shit in any scenario, and doing a fanfic ending that removes death from the story would also be bad.
This pic looks like it was drawn by a BLACKED artist
WHO THE FRICK CAN EVEN SATISFY HER BODY?
>How will FF7 Rebirth be received critically?
10/10s by people who never played FF7 or any of the FFs before REmake.
>1 months before the game comes out
>no leaks
>no nothing
>unironically nobody cares
Final Fantasy dead...
I'll buy it on PS7 when the trilogy is finished
>4 years between rebirth and remake
schizos spent years making up shit only to be btfo'd
not even Barry is here to dance on remakes grave
Barry never disliked rebirth, even more after nomura said fun is allowed on it. He just hates FF16.
People still play new video games? I stopped after ff13 left a bitter taste in my wallet
In hindsight FF13 wasn't that bad
what's with the ff gays lately
Are you new? because saying that on Ganker is funny.
