A better to put it is >Torchlight and Hellgate: London co-creator Erich Schaefer joins Moon Beast to "try and destroy the action-RPG genre for the third time"
The only way to fix the Diablo clone genre would be to return to monke and start taking more inspiration from old jank rpgs again instead of gear score comparing morepigs.
Or just stop being so god damn formulaic. RPGs in general have a bad habit of taking inspiration from one game and that's it, and the level of inspiration is obscene, down to the UI, gameplay, itemization, storytelling and every other element all at once. At that point, the only differences in Diablo clones is how many additional elements they threw on.
This looks like shit. Bows have very low base damage compared to melee weapons. Designated filler keystone that apparently exists to be there so you will take something better and be happy about your right choice according to bald moron's Vision™. And most important part, if someone makes something good out if it by accident, because poe players consistently prove themselves to know game much better than poe devs, it will be nuked into complete unexistance next league.

Flame dash is king for bossing. Bow builds have natural movement speed and dont need anything else. I will not reply to your rebuttal because I am correct

what else do you use to go over walls?
You probably wanted to ask some moronic vague question, but answer is extremely easy and straightforward.
Mouse pointer should no longer control movement if it controls attack aiming. All major issues with current d2 formula and its inflexibility in regards to making anything more than a fricking clicker game stem from that.
I'm honestly sick of the Diablo formula and there are far too many games with copy and pasted verbatim mechanics. Every single one of them are just run on screen, hit one or two buttons, wipe entire screen in milliseconds, repeat for hundreds of hours. An illusion of variety as There's always millions of ways to build your character bur you're locked into 1% of what the game has to offer only spamming one or two abilities. An illusion of enemy variety because you just annihilate everything on the screen before you ever even get a glimpse at what they're capable of.
All that being said I always did and somehow still do enjoy Diablo games and their clones but I can't help but feel they're as in depth as Cookie Clicker. I just wished a game would come our with exact Diablo formula in terms of loot, progression, build variety but instead offers a different form of combat. Perhaps something first person and mechanically similar to Vermintide would be cool but as a long progression RPG instead of L4D structure. Victor Vran always scratched my itch of a Diablo formula game with different combat mechanics but the game also felt executed poorly as well. I don't know why nearly every game that copies Diablo has to do it verbatim with zero variance.
Better yet, make it so you frick for loot. Instead of killing shit you frick it, have skill and skill trees for it, lewd gear etc. Males and females will have to go to different parts of the world to progress obviously. Can even make a pvp with winning condition being to make other character cum first so you can scoop some of their shit while they are crashing down from it.
They could always forsake the skinnerbox design of D2 and return to the origin, Diablo, which was an action game rewarding tactical positioning and smart play instead of >PRESS BUTTON >ENTIRE SCREEN DIES >REPEAT UNTIL ORANGE DROPS
are you an actual human or just chat gpt? Diablo 1 and 2 have the exact same randomized loot system, D2 just fleshed it out more. And as far as combat goes, D2 requires far more skill and tactical positioning than D1 did, which was largely incredibly slow and easy.

Torchlight sucked.
Its wasnt amazing but it wasnt bad either.
There was also a modding community though no idea how much that changed.

Where is that from?
Path of Exile 2.

if i read it right this allows to use the movement skills you have for meele weapons. Its utility.
none of the good movement skills are bound to weapon type anyway

Mix ARPG elements with open world survival concepts and bring back lobby based matchmaking/private worlds. Imagine an ARPG form of WURM online
They should just make it straight up horror

ARPG was already literally redefined, it means like 3 different things now, it's either Diablo, Dark Souls or Elder Scrolls.
>How will they fix the Diablo clone genre.?
let it fricking die
Porn. Make a decent action RPG woth mindless fun looting but everyone is a stripper with their breasts out.

Make it more like D1.
Done.
They could always forsake the skinnerbox design of D2 and return to the origin, Diablo, which was an action game rewarding tactical positioning and smart play instead of >PRESS BUTTON >ENTIRE SCREEN DIES >REPEAT UNTIL ORANGE DROPS
that'll make for a good game with a max playercount of 7, unfortunately
BUTTON >ENTIRE SCREEN DIES >REPEAT UNTIL ORANGE DROPS
Sounds more like PoE than D2
