Regular visual sensors (ie. cameras) are already really good for detecting civilians, roadsigns and other vehicles. The minimal thing we need is that the AI uses atleast as much information as a human when they drive (see and hear). The optimal thing (provided that cellphone/network services don't capitalize on this maliciously) would be an additional radio communication that has ridiculously low travel time (such as 5G) and which allows each vehicle to communicate with nearby other vehicles (like a drone swarm).
However I am pretty certain that companies would abuse the frick out of it, so the basic "see and hear" is enough for an AI vehicle. It can react much-much faster than a human in case of obstacles or accidents anyways.
Flying Cars won't exist due to pre-existing flight regulations anyways. If somehow, we could train everyone like we do with cars among other things.
Flying cars would really only be useful if we could successfully develop some sort of hover technology that would allow it to gain altitude without a long strip of land and at that, it'd be HEAVILY experimental in the beginning, probably garnering some negative judgement in the press.

Regular visual sensors (ie. cameras) are already really good for detecting civilians, roadsigns and other vehicles. The minimal thing we need is that the AI uses atleast as much information as a human when they drive (see and hear). The optimal thing (provided that cellphone/network services don't capitalize on this maliciously) would be an additional radio communication that has ridiculously low travel time (such as 5G) and which allows each vehicle to communicate with nearby other vehicles (like a drone swarm).
However I am pretty certain that companies would abuse the frick out of it, so the basic "see and hear" is enough for an AI vehicle. It can react much-much faster than a human in case of obstacles or accidents anyways.
Flying Cars won't exist due to pre-existing flight regulations anyways. If somehow, we could train everyone like we do with cars among other things.
