Why the frick does it have levitate? And why is it so slow? What were they thinking?

They wanted Sinnoh to be strong since it’s the “ultimate region” but they didn’t want it it be stronger than KANTOOOOO so they sprinkled in some irredeemable shitmons into Sinnoh to counteract the powercreep shillmons like Garchomp and Lucario. That’s also why try continued making worthless baby Pokémon

        >Lucario
Lucario is dogshit dude. Literally a slow frail mixed attacker. I bet you also think Charizard is good

Lucario feel off a cliff later on but it was genuinely one of the best Pokémon in Gen 4
          > I bet you also think Charizard is good
Not without its special snowflake forms, but with them it’s been broken as hell, and there doesn’t seem like Game Freak will stop sucking the damn thing off anything soon so get ready for more Charizard forms in the DLC.

110/115/90 offensive stats are nothing to scoff at. Having only 70 defensive stats also isn’t the end of the world. Gen 5-onwards and its new tier of shilled mons like dracovish make lucario seem mediocre.

Arena Trap plus leeching moves are 1.5 boosted

      >flytrap pokemon
      >weak to bugs

It's a venus flytrap Pokemon, change it to Grass/Poison and give it Strong Jaw and the various fang moves.

Something kind of along these lines. To make it actually unique, an Arena Trap ability that instantly applies to any Bug type and applies auto Leech Seed. Would need some way to avoid the bugs just killing it so....
      >signature move that mitigates damage from seeded enemies?
      >add to ability to halve bug attacks or such?
      >if trapped attacker takes it out, both faint?

        Anonymous

How about instead of applying to Bug types it applies to pokemon trying to use U-turn. Example. A Pokémon tries to u-turn out. It gets trapped and seeded with leech seed.

    give it snap trap
snap trap now heals like leech seed
snap trap also stacks WITH leech seed

Give it Strong Jaw, and a new, 100 bp grass-type biting move that restores 2/3 of dealt damage
With that it could maybe run curse subseed?

      120 att.

      Give it Rock moves
Let it get Analysis and Stakeout as abilities.
      Up defenses to 85

Also this anon is right it's way too frail
Swap HP and S.Atk as well

An evolution to buff those defenses and maybe a new ability, Maw Trap: "Opponents switching in or out get bitten for 1/16 of their Max HP"

A new move called Propagate. 2-turn move. First turn, it doubles the Pokémon's Defense and Special Defense. Beginning the second turn, all Attacks and Special Attacks become two-strike moves and do an extra 25% damage, like Parental Bond.

New ability that traps Pokemon like arena trap, but it also does a small amount continuous damage which heals Carnivine, including extra damage to bug types

Give it more defense and an ability that traps-clamps any pokemon that makes physical contact with it and doesn't let them attack again like in gen 1.

    Snap Trap
    Sucker Punch
    Rapid Spin
    Acid Armor
    Clear Smog
    Gunk Shot

    >Ability:Insectivore
    >Bug-type Water Absorb/Earth Eater
This would eliminate Carnivine's Bug weakness and allow it to come in and donk U-turn in the same way Ground types cancel out Volt Switch. This would give Carnivine a unique niche as a pivot that can reverse the opponent's attempts at grabbing momentum.
    New stats
    >HP:74
    >ATK:100
    >DEF:102
    >SPA:90
    >SPD:72
    >SPE:62
    500 bst
More Defense and Speed to aid in its new role as a bulky pivot. I'm aiming for RU by usage but not dead weight in OU either.
I'd add Jaw-Lock and Snap Trap to its movepool for flavor. I think it already gets Leech Seed. Spikes would be a welcome addition as well. Potential movesets.

    Ability: Flytrap
    >Bug type pokemon can't switch out while this pokemon is on the field. Additionally, Bug type moves are drawn to this pokemon in a double battle, and instead of taking damage it boosts this pokemon's Attack stat by one stage.

Also gains some new moves: Snap Trap, Thunder Fang, ,Jaw Lock, Grassy Glide, Trailblaze, Pounce, Follow Me, and Jungle Healing.

I'll take on the hard mode without changing the total BST

    > Give it Snap trap
    > swap Att and Def base stat
    > swap Sp. Att and Sp. Def

It's now a defensive wall with a niche in dmg overtime, while enforcing the venus trap theme.
Ingrain and stockpile for staying power, bind and snap trap give the damage it needs and traps the opponenets.

    Attack: 100
    Defense: 100

    Special Defense: 100
    Speed: 40
might be decent as a bulky Grass Type now

Give it an ability that counters U-Turn.
Like if the opponent tries to U-Turn on Carnivine, it gets trapped permanently. Even if Carnivine switches out.
