It really wouldn't help, it's physical movepool is okay but still mediocre and it doesn't have any way to boost. Ironically, Charizard would still do the physical set better because of it's massive movepool and Belly Drum/Dragon Dance.

it is, but its more usable, OP said improve typhlosion, not MAKE TYPHLOSION GO TO AG BY GIVING IT EARTH POWER AND V CREATE AND BOOMBURTS AND CHANGE ITS TYPING TO FIRE GROUND BUT GIVE IT DESOLATE LAND HUGE POWER, like most morons do on any typhlosion thread, swapping its attacking stats is a nice buff without adding unrealistic shit to its movepool, changing type or abilities
Except swapping its stats is less likely to happen than any of that, Pokemon get new moves and abilities far more often than stat changes. it wouldn't even improve it enough to worth the change if if kept Flash Fire.
Earth Power isn't even unrealistic or unfitting since the majority of fire types have ground coverage, and Typhlosion is called the Volcano Pokemon, The only reason Typhlosion doesn't get it because Game Freak hates it.

It's hisuian for got ghost, wich along ground rock and flying are among the best stab you can have for neutral damage on anything I don't feel the need to change anything in its normal fire typing but if I were to go that route I'd make it fire rock with rock blast/stone edge or just add plain old reliable meteor beam/power gem a fast rock type is rare wich would make Thyplosion feel like a wrecking ball
