>Destiny 2

Just play D&D 5e, it's the same experience. Horribly unfinished game that charges you for additional content that should have been free and included at launch that doesn't actually address any of the deep systemic problems with the game's core mechanics. Also the developers hate you.
>Surely somebody other than me has been thinking about this
Then why don't you share your thoughts first, you mindless consoomer homosexual
Fpbp
Fpbp
God I wish I could take back all the time I invested in that shitshow.
Dont forget all the woke in it, just like 5E. In lore, all but one of the personal romantic relationships documented in the game between notable characters is homosexual.
Seriously? Back this up with hard data please. And who’s the exception?
Wasted digits.
Go back to your Discord echo chamber, Abaddon.
Off the top of my head:
>Saint and Osiris
>Ana Bray and some chick whose name I can't be bothered to look up
>Mara and Sjur Eido
>Devrim Kay
There are a few, but obviously the claim that every major character is gay is pretty easily proven to be bullshit.
Dawg, Cayde-6 had a wife and child. Granted, he may have mistaken someone else's wife and child, but whatever.
Also, Riven is straight and you meet her husband, and they canonically fricked...
You could reflavour Lancer, IMO. It even references Destiny, particularly in regards to timefricks and 'paracasual' being anything that might as well be magic.
Lancer is a good game, Destiny is not. They are not even remotely canonical.
I'm not going to say Destiny isn't woke as frick, but the only real prominent gay relationship is Osiris and Saint-14. Maybe Mara and Sjur Ido, but Sjur died literal centuries ago. Meanwhile canoncially... Zavala had a wife, Cayden had a wife, Ikora is asexual, Eris Morn has a thing for tge Drifter, Drifter was into the Emissary, Shax boned Mara Sov, and uhh... frick, are there even any more important characters in this game? Not counting AI like Rasputin, I mean.
The sniper guy in the EDZ is gay too. Plus pretty much every grimoire-only random character turns out to be gay. It's all very performative stuff but I can see why that anon would bring it up.
Sniper in the EDZ? You mean removed character from the deleted content? WOTC wishes they had as much control over lore and accessible content.
>Lancer is a good game, Destiny is not
>Catshit is good, dogshit is not
>I'm not going to say Destiny isn't woke as frick, but
>Proceeds to excuse the rest of the game
Remember Cayde is the only straight white guy in the game and they killed him.
>they killed him
You mean the deleted scene of his death that they removed?
He's not dead anymore. It couldn't be more obvious you gays havent played since before they shelved red war, but since then they've only made the game worse because you marvel loving types couldnt get enough of based comedy routine robot and his funny 6 shooter
>You mean the deleted scene of his death that they removed?
Just because they walked back the death does not mean it never happened, you miserable fanboy. Bungie saw the sole straight white male in the cast and thought, "yeah. That's the one." In the social climate of the mid-2010s, do you really think we wouldn't recognize what they were doing?
>still worshipping the aces of spades reddit self insert
You look like the queen of spades surrounded on a couch with all this sucking up you're doing. None of your whining about black zavala and debra bugeye ikora woke power fantasies will change that every character other than the Guardian is and always has been a useless MTX pushing slot machine since d2 came out.
A proper Destiny 2 rpg would have you pay real money anytime you want to change your armor and have your DM constantly sunset your weapons in service of the new cool +1 sword you get from dropping the epic copy pasted boss at the end of the copy pasted dungeon, which had several inane co op style puzzles to solve along the way. No one would play it because your real life friends are just as gay and aren't actually witty so all of their cool 1 liners just fall flat.
Too videogamey.
I have no idea what that is so I would not.
D&D 5e with Gestalt rules.
Titans: Fighter/Wizard
Hunters: Ranger/Wizard
Warlocks: Wizard/Wizard
It would make for a pretty shit game considering one of Destiny's main conceits is that Guardians can revive from death endlessly at no cost or consequence, thus there would be no tension ever... but this fits both Destiny and D&D 5e. They're both pretty shit and manged by companies that have become equally shit.
>one of Destiny's main conceits is that Guardians can revive from death endlessly at no cost or consequence, thus there would be no tension ever
I actually had some ideas on how to work this into a game and still keep tension, but I won't share them here because OP is a homosexual. I also think Destiny would work better as a skirmish scale wargame with an optional dungeon crawler "Destiny Raids" co-op companion boardgame than an RPG. Each faction has a strong enough identity to make for a fun playable experience and you could even have a fairly unique soup faction via Taken.
Destiny's factions suck shit though. Every single one is:
>Basic b***h fodder enemy that walks forward and shoots.
>Shielded basic b***h enemy that walks forward and shoots.
>Dedicated melee b***h that walks forward and swings.
>Dedicated sniper b***h that stands still and shoots.
The Taken are the only faction that even TRIES to be different, and even then this only meant something in Destiny 1 where everything didn't die fricking INSTANTLY the second a Guardian shows up. Destiny 2 shit the bed so fricking hard, and yet Bungie is one of those companies with enough moron fanboys with Stockholm Syndrome for "the good ol days" of Halo that they will guzzle down whatever shit Bungie spreads it's cheeks to "produce" now.
Nah there's enough identity to each faction to make a fun wargame, especially since factions would now be allowed to actually utilize tactics (given the player isn't a moron) instead of behaving like moronic MMO mobs. I've played more of both games than I'd like to admit to know all the flaws as well as what microscopic praise I can give the game, and chief among that praise is strong aesthetics, at least as far as D1 and select points of D2 are concerned. I don't think there's enough for a robust RPG, but plenty for a skirmish wargame.
Don't forget the drone enemy
The revival system already fits naturally into the Death Save mechanic that many systems use. After all, the Guardian has a final death when their Ghost dies, and the Ghost has to expose itself to revive the Guardian. If you succeed your saving throws then your Ghost revived you. If you failed, then your Ghost was also killed by enemy fire and your Guardian is now permadead.
Okay but I don't want to play 5e. I want to make a new thing.
>I want /tg/ to make a new thing for me.
FTFY
Remember tgat one time Bungie bungled the lore and said only super special magic Hive bullets with Darkness powers could actually kill Ghosts?
It is a pretty extensive homebrew of 5e. There isn’t even magic or spell slots
>There isn’t even magic or spell slots
Not a 5e guy, is that a good thing or a bad thing?
For a second there I tought that "FI" in the name was actually "A".
I did it. Converted Cyberpunk RED. Works just fine.
There’s already a 5e hack called DnDestiny and it leans heavily in replicating the encounter style of the video game
Boardgame:
You are CEO of a now financially-precarious studio that used to produce popular games with engaging, often innovatively-delivered narratives. The previous CEO(s) and leadership have since caved to superhero bullshit and live service tedium, squandering untold amounts of money.
The other players take on the roles of:
>Irritating youtuber (chaotic evil)
>Sony bigwig (lawful evil)
>Marathon fanboy (neutral good)
>former Valorant creative lead (lawful evil)
>Halo nostalgia addict (neutral evil)
Each round sees each player execute a single move from their deck of character-specific actions. These actions decide how you, as CEO, advance towards the final Game Released (GR) node. Each node grants 1 Hype. You win when you have more Hype than the Game Release node requires.
You counter these cards with rolls reflecting your stats, which are as follows:
>Grip Strength
>Underling Manpower
>Foot Size
>Voice Volume
>Money
>Hype
>Luck
Example round:
>You declare your attempt to move to one (1) specific node towards the release of your new game.
>IRRITATING YOUTUBER draws "Targeted Gossip Video". This generates a SWAT incident which permanently reduces your Underling Manpower by 1.
>SONY BIGWIG draws "Asinine Investor Phone Call." This forces you to move to any reachable node EXCEPT the one you declared.
>MARATHON FANBOY draws "Extraction Shooter?". This negates any points you accrued in HYPE in the last turn. You do not generate a HYPE point this turn, either.
>FORMER VALORANT CREATIVE LEAD draws "Esports". This devastating card immediately jumps you two nodes back in your progression and requires you to move the GR event token from its current edge node to another edge node 5 nodes away.
>HALO NOSTALGIA ADDICT draws "Irrelevant comparison with Halo 3". Finally, respite. No effect.
With the players having drawn, you now move your piece to the appropriate node. This repeats until you arrive at the GR event node. If your HYPE exceeds the GR cost, you win.
>t. Marathongay STILL seething over Halo
What’s the best way to handle the mechanics for Ghosts?
Which class would you prefer to play and why? For me it's definitely Warlock, I love me arcane might.
Warlock because the amount of blatant favoritism Bungo has for the class is unreal. PvE, PvP, doesn't matter, the best class for either one for 90% of Destiny 1 and 2's existence has been Warlock. They ALMOST as bad as WotC and their blatant favoritism towards Wizards in DnDogshit. Almost.
FPBP
Classic case of multiple writers having their own ideas of how things work and nobody in a leadership position having a good enough grasp on the concepts to make a decision on the matter. Bungo's leadership has consistently been awful, if you read their employee reviews on Glassdoor, they still think they're above reproach because "we made Halo", even though most of the people who made Halo what it was have long since left the company or been pushed out by corporate bullshit (like what happened with Marty and the literally zero-evidence zero-witnesses accusations of sexual harassment that HR pulled out of their ass after trying to cheat him out of pay. Good on him for suing their asses and winning. Other former employees haven't been so lucky.)
Why do people play Destiny if they don’t have fun, based on your image?
In short hand, novelty and sunk cost.
Why are you doing this, Literary Lord aka bunpgay? You clearly have no interest or knowledge of Destiny and we all know you don't play traditional games, so why the hell are you bumping a thread with meaningless filler questions that you have zero intention of authentically contributing to?
I'm genuinely curious, what drives your specific brand of autistic homosexualry?
The most annoying thing is that Bumpgay never uses any of the material he's given for anything. I don't know why he bothers keeping these threads alive if he doesn't play traditional games or even writes anything of substance. My best guess is he has some autistic obsession with worldbuilding and only worldbuilding, hence why he immediately makes a new '/tg/ makes a setting' thread and forgets about the old one.
I know he has a parasocial relationship with people replying to him on the internet, because in the past he's admitted he gets panic attacks and anxiety fits if a thread dies while he's asleep. I'd post the dossier on him someone assembled but for some reason mods ban you for it despite him being solely responsible for /tg/'s 7 day autosage rule.
>mods ban you for it despite him being solely responsible for /tg/'s 7 day autosage rule.
This is what I find weirdest about the bumpgay situation. The jannies are clearly aware of him, yet they allow him to roam free on the board bumping threads and don't ban him.
>Warlock because the amount of blatant favoritism Bungo has for the class is unreal
That's not Hunter. Anytime Warlock gets a fun build it gets nerfed within two weeks or the exotic it's based around gets disabled for months at a time
>PvP
>the best class for either one for 90% of Destiny 1 and 2's existence has been Warlock
Do you even play the game? Have you forgotten Titans ruling Crucible with OEM or Hunters just fricking up entire teams with a single Stasis tornado? Hunter has always been the "meta" choice for PvP because triple jump and a dodge roll that disables all tracking weapons have always ALWAYS been more beneficial than Warlock/Titan kits. They've also had access to some of the best panic supers, killing supers, and shutdown supers.
>That's not Hunter. Anytime Warlock gets a fun build it gets nerfed within two weeks or the exotic it's based around gets disabled for months at a time
Why would they do that?
Titans and Hunters generally get better or more interesting exotics too, a lot of Warlock ones are either solely for gunplay, feel like bandaids for regular abilities, or are just plain boring.
This. If you look at how useful Rift alone is compared to Dodge or Barricade, it's blatantly obvious which class Bungie favors most. Not to mention almost all the Warlock subclasses have secondary ways to use their grenade powers, eating the charges for buffs and such. It varies up their options and playstyles in ways other classes just can't match.
That being said, if the game were actually balanced properly, I'd choose Hunter every time. Speed and Stealth are my jams. I'd play Rogues every time in D&D too, if they didn't suck absolute ass there too.
At how stupid the plot and mechanics get every expansion, let just play Risus.
I would unironically use CofD. The system is not averse to strong PCs and the way it handle skills suits the idea of malleable powers better in my opinion.
Each color of light has its own skill and as you advance them you gain access to greater levels of power with said light. Even in lore, the shit you see the guardian do isn't the only thing that can be done with Light or Darkness.
Reminder the Destiny narrative lead wrote the black girl Dishonored game and fricking Redfall before she hopped over to Bungie.
And what's so important about those two games?
I think it’s implying her work is shit.
But Redfall was really bad for game and performance reasons so I don’t think I ever heard anything about the story.
As for Dishonoured, what happened to Billy Lurk looked a bit weird and it wrapped up an important story sort of abruptly. But we haven’t gotten a Dishonoured game since so maybe they finishing it off.
>But Redfall was really bad for game and performance reasons so I don’t think I ever heard anything about the story.
Yikes, that bad? Why even hire them then?
You should play the nonwoke Mantic halo skirmish game featuring 0 gay or bl-
I'm going to stab you if you think anyone, even the surliest Modern Warfare Lobby Racist, has ill intent towards Sergeant Johnson. They might call him a Black person, but he's the best there is. I'm so fricking pissed they excluded him from the Halo TV Show and instead made Captain Keyes black.
Sgt. Johnson, quite frankly, is too authentically black for modern Hollywood to EVER depict him accurately.
>is too authentically black for modern Hollywood to EVER depict him accurately.
He's literally just sci-fi Carl Weathers. He's literally just sci-fi Dillon from Predator doing an R. Lee Ermey. I don't get it. He's right there, all the inspiration your actor needs is right there.
Correction: he's literally Sgt. Apone from Aliens, right down to chomping on cigars and getting (nearly) murked by a mysterious parasitic alien threat. And like I said, that's too authentically black for modern Hollywood, he'd be declared a racist stereotype in CURRENT YEAR.
Oh frick, yeah that'll do it. I never made the connection because I've never actually sat down for a full-watch of Aliens. But in retrospect, everything about Halo: CE was intensely Alien.
Zoomers don't watch films that old or read. They barely even play the games they shitpost (the destiny morons busy talking about the woke mob because they all quit over 6years ago) on this board and constantly bump from a position of ignorance like
said.
>but its different when I hold him on a pedestal
Shut up pederast fricking subverting chosen one. We all know why you're here and its to ease us on to a worse future. Do you really think we wouldn't recognize what you were doing by telling all of us this unfunny homosexual who squeezes brutes asses was cool? And forcing him into every game because he's way cooler than the white master chief petty officier, and you always have to be subservient to him, give me a break.
>mantic Halo
>having marines
LOL
Even just the fricking Elites are DLC being held hostage depending on how much the Spartans sell, buddy. Enjoy your spartan mirror match slop.
What’s the best way to translate weapon and armor stats into tabletop form, and what are your favorite examples of each?
See
The final shape was a massive log
More like Dead Shitty, Too. There has never been a good Bungay game, even the original Marathon was a tepid Doom clone only distinguished by having walls of blue prose on every third texture.
Meanwhile, Doom has an actual tabletop game and is relevant to /tg/.
>Meanwhile, Doom has an actual tabletop game and is relevant to /tg/.
If a game about killing demons can get an RPG, why not Destiny? Also, since I’ve never played Doom myself, I’ll take your word for it.
You've never played a game in your life, bumpgay, neither vidya nor TRPGs. Go back to your shitty pedo LGBT groomer cartoons and leave us the frick alone.
It’s already been made and it’s called DnDestiny, the group I play with had a campaign using it before I started playing with them, from what I remember they’ve told me it’s updated every now and again to include new shit that’s added
Thanks for letting us know about it! Too bad there's no subclasses for the Darkness abilities of Stasis and Strand yet though, I'd love to play with those.
Cool. Have you actually checked it out yourself yet?
No, their campaign reach a natural conclusion and moved on to another campaign in regular old 5e with the previous DM as one of the players. I’m also not knowledgeable enough to try DMing it myself, nor do they seem intent on going back to it with all the other stuff they have planned.
looooool you can't stop the autosage bumpgay
