CT >= LaL > FF6 > SoM
I'm one of those people that has issues with World of Ruin parts of FF6 and I'd want to rate it higher, but I think LaL and CT are just utter joys to play.
CT > sex with a woman > LaL > having garbage scooped into your mouth > FF6 > shit > having aids infected gay blood injected into your balls > castration > SoM
>CT > SoM > FF6 > LaL
CT is an excellent game through and through. Sure, it's not perfect, and the combat system could be improved a lot, but it deserves all the praise it gets for the music, story, and endings alone.
SoM, by contrast, had a pretty simplistic story, but the if you like ARPGs the gameplay is pretty fun, especially if you frick with romhacks (SoM Turbo is fricking dope) and/or if you co-op with friends.
I've never been big into mainline FF in general. Just never resonated with any of them.
As for LaL, it had charm but wasn't anything to write home about, objectively speaking. Most of the hype/praise for LaL was due to the mystery of it being one of the few SNES JRPGs that never got released outside Japan until last year.
Playing Live a Live now and the ideas and style are cool but I really can't be that into a game that has so little gameplay at times. Just played the future robot egg one and it's literally hours of walking from one map point to another as an obvious Alien homage unfolds. You don't even have to explore or learn the map. I'm sure it was "cinematic" at the time but frick.
Secret of Evermore chads rise up. Frick the weeb homosexuals who hate it because it wasn't "secret of mana 2". The themed worlds were cool. The only downside was the amount of uses for spells you needed to level it up.
No, it sucked because every other level is a maze. Mazes get old in a hurry.
Also, you could easily break the game by leveling the first fire spell to max level (if done in the tar pit this only takes like 30 mins). Then you're one and two-shotting bosses.
Or how about the bazooka that needed constant ammo refills? Or the bland music? Or the final boss that comes out of nowhere and has no real story at all, other than "LOL surprise! It was me all along!"
It was not a good game. I'm happy you enjoyed it, but the rest of us are under no illusions that it was worth playing.
>no Adventures of Evermore >no Trials of Evermore >no Legend of Evermore >no Sword of Evermore (remake of Adventures) >no Children of Evermore >no Dawn of Evermore >no Heroes of Evermore >no Adventures of Evermore (3D remake) >no Secret of Evermore (3D remake) >no Trials of Evermore (3D remake)
>PC port looks like vomit
If you turn off the blur filter, it's literally just the original graphics but with proper 16:9 widescreen support. I think they even added 21:9 ultrawide support.

The only valid response
LaL>FF6>CT>LoM
None of those are particularly good though, LaL gets extra points for at least being pretty unique, LoM is a terrible game.
I wouldn't, there's absolutely no point in doing so.
Needs Dragon Quest 5
LaL>CT>VI>SoM
I don't like the last half at all.
LaL>CT=SoM>FF6
LaL>>>>>>CT>>>>>>>>>>>>SoM
Haven't played FF6 yet
CT>LaL>FF6>SoM
I don't like action RPGs
CT > sex with a woman > LaL > having garbage scooped into your mouth > FF6 > shit > having aids infected gay blood injected into your balls > castration > SoM
LaL and CT are both good
dropped the other two
>CT > SoM > FF6 > LaL

6, CT, SoM, LaL
>one of these things does not belong.
All of those games are awesome, and then there's live a live. why is that there?
Came out around the same time as the others, same company, a lot of LAL's staff also worked on CT.
i remember when i was 17 this girl wanted to play secret of mana with me but we didnt make it more than 10 mins in without fricking.
for that alone that game is 9/10 CT is still better.
the other 2 games are trash
FF6 > CT > SoM > LaL
All great games, for sure.
Chrono Trigger, Live a Live, Final Fantasy IV, and the Romancing Salsa games are way better than anything else Square put out in the SNES era
How about:
FF6=CT=SoM
I haven't play Live A Live yet, too busy slogging through Tactics Ogre
FF6 > CT > LAL > SoM
1. CT 2. FFVI 3. SoM 4. LAL

>no secret of evermore

Bubsy 3D > entirety of jarpig trash.
I've been meaning to play Chrono Trigger for a long time but just have never gotten around to it.
Which version should I play?
original SNES is best but DS is a close second
SNES or PC. Only stuff in DS that isn't on PC is a monster arena that is extremely half-baked.
PC
snes
ds extra content is bad, pc port looks like vomit

PC with mods.
Anyone that says otherwise is a moron.
Live a Live Ninja and Cowboy chapters alone mog everything on that list minus CT.
CT > FF6 > LaL > SoM
all great games
that's a choice that i don't want to make tho to be fair i didn't play livealive on snes only switch
Is there a good translation of the SNES version of LaL?
The Watcher SNES ROM fan translation is pretty accurate based upon the dialogue in the remake.
FF6 > everything else > Secret of Mana
Chrono > FF6 > Live > Secret
FF6 is the best of these afaik, but not the best of the FF series. Secret of Mana is kind of meh, same with Chronotrigger. Never played bottom-left.
You should check out Live a Live, it is soul incarnate
