Heavensward was fricking dogshit, and I know for sure 100% you weren't playing the game during 3.1 launch. You're a story only homosexual and you do not care about the video game portion of FFXIV, only the story.
This is why I left FFXIV (And I've been a diehard Final Fantasy fan since 1996). Also ShB and Endwalker stories are better than Blandward.
To clarify: I left FFXIV because it's fully of story homosexuals like you who think Heavensward was peak kino, when in reality it had literally 1 good written moment with Aymeric, and the rest of the entire HW story was bland bullshit, so frick off.
Heavensward was the most fun for me, Dragonkino was cool. I also liked ARR more than Stormblood, the latter felt like a massive slog to me and the only area I liked there was the plains.
HW was fun because of the limitations. Jobs were fun to play, raids were fun, even Gordias wasn't so bad, A2S and A4S were ass but 1 and 3 were fun shit. Midas was the best raid tier they ever made, Creator was crazy fun. Sophia EX raid finder and party finder traps were great. Thordan EX was amazing.

What's interesting about Zenos' character isn't what he finds joy in, its what he doesn't. That was the point of me posting that image. Yea his only pleasure is combat with the WoL, but that should serve to highlight the fact that Zenos doesn't find pleasure in the other things people (namely the WoL) do. It's also arguable that Zenos enjoys fighting the WoL less because you're strong and more because he see himself in you. He doesn't realize this himself until the end.

I started playing in 3.0 but it's been mostly at an extremely leisurely pace and MSQ aside I've never done "current content" (aside from Unreal towards the end of Shadowbringers and fricking around in the 6.0 EX trials). Guess I played a bit of PotD as it came out too but that's that.

I very much disagree. In fact, one of the SB patches has *the* most stupid moment of the entire game, namely when Lyse decides to invite tempered beastmen into an important diplomatic meeting in the center of a newly freed nation.
I think many people have forgotten just how fricking moronic the writing was for Lyse, Fordola, Yotsuyu and Hien (yes, Hien, the one everyone likes so much even though he does literally nothing, ever). They're all conceptually interesting characters, but there's so many fricking stupid moments with them and the story doesn't know how to get them from A to B to do C without resorting CONSTANTLY to moronic handwaving. Just as an example, try to count how many times someone escapes after a confrontation with use of a smoke bomb in SB. Or really pay attention how exactly Tsuyu stumbles upon her parents. She literally walks around at random (after having escaped one of the best ninjas in the world... twice) and in her delirium she just so happens to encounter her parents, alone, out of the thousands of refugees, who promptly spout some of the most blatantly moronic evil things you could come up with. There's little moments that aren't particularly well written throughout the game, but SB is just constantly completely fricking moronic in terms of structure and actual plot. I still remember Raubahn literally fricking lying into the faces of the widows and orphans in 4.1 about a "fair trial", a trial that literally never happened with Fordola, instead Lyse just decided on her own what to do with her. Very cool "justice" you got there Raubahn, what a great start for your new nation.

I think this is one of the things that really pissed me off the most, honestly, and how utterly fricked this story is now for what it did. So many people go "OH THE VENAT SCENES, SO TEARJERKING" or "YEAH HYPE ENDSINGER SECOND PHASE, FRICK YOU DESPAIR", but in a setting where we've grounded ourselves entirely to ships, flying birds and the odd airship of Imperial or Cid make, where the two times time travel occurred were in very specific circumstances and everything, EW just.. throws it in a furnace. Now we have a space ship that can travel to the edge of the universe in minutes, which wasn't even destroyed or anything, it's on fricking reserve for whenever the plot needs it next. Now we have Elpis as a thing we can just dive into at any moment, and the story technically ALLOWS this "not changing the future stable time loop" travel permanently for Pandaemonium to happen.
I don't even comprehend how Ultima Thule is supposed to work still, either. Like, are they just shades and memories? Are they actually their species reborn through Meteion's collection of the dead? Are they somehow displaced remnants from history that can make their own paths with your influence? Who cares, time for tribe quests

I remember statements from players and other things that the Echo flashbacks worked in a different way too back in 1.0; you actually were doing a lightweight time travel and doing the dungeons again with newer gear and shit, but you couldn't change history, just grab unimportant loot from it. Yeah 1.0 echo and current echo are entirely different powers. You very much interacted with the people in echo time and took up physical space, you just were relegated to a minor, easily forgettable role usually as observer. I think what bothers me most about the current Echo is that as a vestige of our former nature as unsundered, it has the potential to do anything as is. Translate languages of dead civilizations thanks to speaking to the soul, create anti-tempering barriers on the fricking spot through sheer exertion, read the memories and actions of others in both a location and of whoever was there including dead people, literally leave our mortal shell to inhabit another, physically empowers their users in the right circumstances of plot, and probably other stuff I'm forgetting about. If the writers wanted to do so, they could probably add some new job/class or gameplay functionality in Dawntrail or whatever later expansion and just say "the Echo did it".

You're both wrong. The echo is a sort of sixth sense that's something of an echo of what people were capable of pre sundering, and it can manifest differently in different people.

The fun characters/story beats of FF4 aren't really in any of the references they stuck in, and the main story is actually very stupid so getting it spoiled is a good thing so you don't end up playing it and thinking that you're going to get something good.
Honestly EW didn't actually spoil much. The final boss yes, but virtually everything else is either just a pastiche or cut new from whole cloth and placing a Fiend or reference on top. Virtually nothing in the MSQ here is actually what happens in FF4 itself and the original plot beats are untouched.

Honestly it's still not off the bench. If the thirteenth is just one giant FF4 world that went down a different path with different characters, they can get away with functionally basing any shard off of anything they want, and then rewriting the XIVisms into it. I can totally see one shard ripping off VI or another having IX hijinks and so forth, and fitting cat girls and burly roes into the mix. This is a game where technically anything can happen for the fanservice and all of Tactics was canon up until the end.

I haven't been playing post-EW since 5.3 but the post-patch cycle stories are literally always boring and bad until the finale where something happens, I don't get all the doomposting.

Anyone expecting good writing from Dawntrail in the first place is in for a doozy. I can't see anything loosely defined as "the heroes get involved in the local politics for a new leader" and "the scions split up over a difference of opinion in their hunt for the city of gold" as ending in a way that is worth a damn at this point. I'd normally hope it's just the competitive sort of split up, but I would be entirely unsurprised if someone like Urianger suddenly gets all uppity about us messing up the local culture.

Zenos is worse, most of the scions are the same. Alisaie comes to mind. The truth is there are hardly any good characters in XIV. Emet in 5.0 and only 5.0 is one of the few exceptions, once they started ruining him in 5.3 it was all over.

Alisaie had a lot of charming moments in Coils and HW and her introduction in ShB was pretty good too. I'm not a big fan of her but at least she brings *something* to the table. No idea what you're going on about with 5.3, but I agree that Emet got flanderized in EW and I genuinely hope that we never see him again, not even in a flashback. Still, that's a good character that got somewhat ruined later on, which is still better than a character that is shit from beginning to end.

True but my point was that those characters are not part of the main cast. They are side characters. I would love someone like Lyna to be part of the main cast but she's not. Some like Yugiri were around for a while and felt like main cast members and then got retired after Stormblood.
I still don't get the point of fricking Paplymo dying to save the group only for anime Omega fight and Lyse happening, and then no main character ever died again that actually mattered afterwards. It's like they had the balls to do it and then dropped their balls.
I cared, if mostly because of the duo aspect with Yda. Go figure the moment you take him away and then make her into Lyse as a smartass resistance member she immediately became boring and annoying.
They have stakes, stakes are "everything will die", I prefer to phrase it as consequences. Thancred has his death fake-out in Shadowbringers and Y'shtola's been brought back from the lifestream twice because there's no consequences. No one got loldeaded in a way that even managed to make for any interesting drama temporarily by Meteion because there's no consequences, to the point of Y'shtola blatantly and quickly making it obvious they'll all come back anyway.
Scions just exist to get worfed and exposit at this point but they're fan favorites so there's no lasting consequences worth a damn anymore.
I think they just wanted to trim the main cast some. Between Y'shtola and Uriangier there were already two big brain exposition spouters in the team and Alisae fills the same role of >punchy idiot
except only slightly less literal than Yda. Not to mention the similar dynamic between Alisae/Aphinaud and Papalymo/Yda. Looking back it doesn't surprise me that they both effectively got axed to give more room for the devs preferred characters to breathe. Been playing since 1.0 because I hate myself, ShB and HW are low S/high A, EW is low A high B, SB is low B, ARR is high C. Nothing has beaten Chains of Promathia for best MMO story but there were commendable efforts.

Endwalker is slightly better but follows in job/bossfight design Shadowbringer has set in stone. Also Shadowbringers/Endwalker took a big shit on the lore of Eorzea with Ishikawa's shitty writing and Ancients being the source of everything in Eorzea excluding dragons and omega.

It's funny - when I look at SB I see a garbage launch that was redeemed over time by the post-launch story. Except for the ham-fisted yotsuyu redemption garbage.
Then I look at EW and I see a great if troubled story soured irreparably by the absolutely woeful post-launch story.

Bwuh, SHB has nothing besides 5.3 in the patches, which is massively overrated along with the trial anyways. Just going by expansion story I agree, but 3.X is way better than 5.X in every way.
I should have mentioned that there's a bias here towards Shadowbringers. 5.x represents the time in my life when I was the happiest, and thus even the lows are reflected upon positively.
Only a matter of time before they remove the rest of the positionals and make pvp style combo buttons. The real question is will they do them both at the same time?
I recently found out that mch's sniper shot can trigger the final hit of wildfire which lets them do 56k in one hit. If they really wanted to frick you up they could hold drill for if you panic shield after.
I'm a shadowbab so it's hard to rate them honestly. Through out shadowbringers I was mostly catching up so Endwalker is the only one where I fully experienced it as it was current.
What I can say is that I enjoyed Heavensward's story the most and the content I really like is (nerfed) Eureka and Bozja.
In terms of story ShB is the absolute best.
HW is a close second.
EW was disappointing in many ways but it's still better than SB and ARR(Zenos carried is so fricking hard it's not even funny).
EW is probably the best finale to a long running story that was put together after the fact I've seen. It's not perfect but they manage to retrofit a lot of stuff cleanly enough.
There are a ton of flaws but the most effective thing for me personally was how they finally elaborated on what "hear, feel, think" meant. That was the first mystery any ARR-starter would have had on startup.
If you cared about the story, like actually cared and didn't speed run it to reach SHB like 90% of the current playerbase, then EW is a huge slap in the face to everything built in 1.0, 2.0, and even parts of 3.0.
Everything rushed to be wrapped up eoth a pretty little bow just for the avengers endgame moment of the finale. Beast tribes are friends, summoning was taught wrong as a joke and tempered are no more, the twelve are introduced and killed off in the same expansion, heart of sabik was ancient tech based off of interdimendional ayylium auracite, everything was a actually ancients
I'll give you pacing issues but I don't see a problem with the other stuff. Beast tribes and tempering especially. Why is it a problem that the setting is actually progressing?

Because it's done out of convenience to the main plot ending and not naturally resolved. Tempering cure was gonna be a thing since Gabbu, but it was a slow side plot over the course of expansion until the payoff was an attached note to EW. It should've been the feature of its own expansion or something.

EW: 4/10 it was just more of the same from ShB but without any of the content or quirks that made it fun, if it wasn't for SGE being added this expansion pack I would have rated it 3/10
They managed to bait me gud with a promise of some more low-stakes adventure after I felt fatigued by the "COSMIC DESTRUCTION!" that were the 2nd half of EW and when that didn't pan out they baited me with what looked like a cool romp through the 13th. Why is it that the community rates entire expansions solely based on the MSQ? Like Stormblood is considered "bad" despite all the content it had because of it's story. Shadowbrigners is considered "amazing" just because of it's story despite it's lackluster content.

The MSQ is a primary advertisement and driving force of the product now. It's also on a situation where all the rest of the real content is wholly separate of MSQ besides progression unlockers, to the point that you can beat the entire story only doing Crystal Tower and ignore all the raids, Eureka and Bozja, island sanctuary, you name it. It might as well be fricking segregated on rankings for that alone
Because the MSQ is both what people remember the most and it's what every single player does. Not every single player will do all the raids, alliance raids, forays, trial series, etc, especially if they stated playing after an expansion was over. But they will have done the MSQ.
Also most people rating them in this thread are specifically making the distinction between the story and the content because everyone already knows that it makes a huge difference.
I feel like every wipe in a Zeromus Ex fight is the healer's fault. Many times I die from branding/sparking because I don't get healed after flare and just wait to die.
how is it possible to die on anything other than meteor? 95% of wipes are on meteor from what I've seen, the other 5% is people running it down to bio bubbles
It seems like ever since ShB many healers are conditioned to only heal once someone drops below 20%, not realizing that a single tick of some DoTs can down a DPS from 30% if the conditions are right.
I'm actively seeing youtube guide people consistently go "don't stress about how much HP someone has, so long as they have 1 HP you can fix that". And then every boss from HW on that can target the other players besides the Tank for any worthwhile attacks can kill everybody in two or three hits, and you constantly have to make the call of whether they need the heals or not or else they die in the next few seconds. Too many idiots just think "oh it's the 'keep tank alive' job, all you gotta do."
It feels weird to say because I hated Stormblood for its story while it was current, but at this point I think it's actually my favorite expansion because while I do still think it's written like dogshit, it totally mogs every other expansion in terms of gameplay and everything since has been a massive disappointment in the only part of the game that actually matters, the gameplay.

I play with a controller and the first thing that hit my mind once I finally got PLD to 90 was the sheer amount of actions you have to settle onto your hotbars with absolutely no convenience but the clunky XMB double-tap or dual-hold setup, never mind the nightmare that is manually selecting individual party members with the d-pad in a heated fight because you can't tab-target for shit on a controller.
Party targeting works fine on pad, it's just up and down the d-pad and it interacts with soft/hard targeting much more cleanly than most kbm setups. It's enemy targeting that sucks ass sometimes and alliance targeting is pretty shit.
It made it past ARR. SE would never have greenlit an expansion without PS3 numbers, and tons of people wouldn't have even tried it if it wasn't on an accessible console.

If they just copy-paste the element system from the masked carnivale and place them on enemies it would go even further since now you would pick'n'choose engagement over how hard each mob would be to kill with your current kit. They could even make recolors of existing mobs where the only difference is their asigned element, like red slimes being resistant to fire while blue ones are resistant to ice etc.
This could also encourage more players to play it coop as each player could potentially cover for the others weaknesses by going into DDs with a different starting kit of 5 spells per person or something
How do they even make combat fun again at this point? The mechanics are too rigid and may as well be a 2.5D game of top-down. They stripped so much out to accommodate for newer players and raid meta and both don't actually appreciate the changes. Everything is becoming simpler and simpler and I feel like they'll never become complex again.
Make mechanics harder, get rid of enrage timers, include more dps burst checks, give each dps job unique burst window timing again, and please for the love of god make tanks do more than just take a handful of busters and swap a couple times. Give them adds, make them reposition often.

Heavensward was the most fun for me, Dragonkino was cool. I also liked ARR more than Stormblood, the latter felt like a massive slog to me and the only area I liked there was the plains.
HW was fun because of the limitations. Jobs were fun to play, raids were fun, even Gordias wasn't so bad, A2S and A4S were ass but 1 and 3 were fun shit. Midas was the best raid tier they ever made, Creator was crazy fun. Sophia EX raid finder and party finder traps were great. Thordan EX was amazing.

I very much disagree. In fact, one of the SB patches has *the* most stupid moment of the entire game, namely when Lyse decides to invite tempered beastmen into an important diplomatic meeting in the center of a newly freed nation.
I think many people have forgotten just how fricking moronic the writing was for Lyse, Fordola, Yotsuyu and Hien (yes, Hien, the one everyone likes so much even though he does literally nothing, ever). They're all conceptually interesting characters, but there's so many fricking stupid moments with them and the story doesn't know how to get them from A to B to do C without resorting CONSTANTLY to moronic handwaving. Just as an example, try to count how many times someone escapes after a confrontation with use of a smoke bomb in SB. Or really pay attention how exactly Tsuyu stumbles upon her parents. She literally walks around at random (after having escaped one of the best ninjas in the world... twice) and in her delirium she just so happens to encounter her parents, alone, out of the thousands of refugees, who promptly spout some of the most blatantly moronic evil things you could come up with. There's little moments that aren't particularly well written throughout the game, but SB is just constantly completely fricking moronic in terms of structure and actual plot. I still remember Raubahn literally fricking lying into the faces of the widows and orphans in 4.1 about a "fair trial", a trial that literally never happened with Fordola, instead Lyse just decided on her own what to do with her. Very cool "justice" you got there Raubahn, what a great start for your new nation.

In terms of writing, EW isn't just the worst FF14 expansion, it's down there with FFXIII for some of the worst garbage Square's ever shit out. "Just turn your brain off and enjoy the ride" doesn't work when they've spent 6 years prior to this hammering home all of these different concepts.

I think this is one of the things that really pissed me off the most, honestly, and how utterly fricked this story is now for what it did. So many people go "OH THE VENAT SCENES, SO TEARJERKING" or "YEAH HYPE ENDSINGER SECOND PHASE, FRICK YOU DESPAIR", but in a setting where we've grounded ourselves entirely to ships, flying birds and the odd airship of Imperial or Cid make, where the two times time travel occurred were in very specific circumstances and everything, EW just.. throws it in a furnace. Now we have a space ship that can travel to the edge of the universe in minutes, which wasn't even destroyed or anything, it's on fricking reserve for whenever the plot needs it next. Now we have Elpis as a thing we can just dive into at any moment, and the story technically ALLOWS this "not changing the future stable time loop" travel permanently for Pandaemonium to happen.
I don't even comprehend how Ultima Thule is supposed to work still, either. Like, are they just shades and memories? Are they actually their species reborn through Meteion's collection of the dead? Are they somehow displaced remnants from history that can make their own paths with your influence? Who cares, time for tribe quests

I remember statements from players and other things that the Echo flashbacks worked in a different way too back in 1.0; you actually were doing a lightweight time travel and doing the dungeons again with newer gear and shit, but you couldn't change history, just grab unimportant loot from it. Come ARR, no one mentions this again ever if it was true.
Yeah 1.0 echo and current echo are entirely different powers. You very much interacted with the people in echo time and took up physical space, you just were relegated to a minor, easily forgettable role usually as observer. I can see why they changed it because it was cumbersome and they were trying some avant garde storytelling shit that they were not at all equipped to do right. I still don't completely know how much of 1.0 story was echo or present time because of how indistinct the echo transition is.
I think what bothers me most about the current Echo is that as a vestige of our former nature as unsundered, it has the potential to do anything as is. Translate languages of dead civilizations thanks to speaking to the soul, create anti-tempering barriers on the fricking spot through sheer exertion, read the memories and actions of others in both a location and of whoever was there including dead people, literally leave our mortal shell to inhabit another, physically empowers their users in the right circumstances of plot, and probably other stuff I'm forgetting about. If the writers wanted to do so, they could probably add some new job/class or gameplay functionality in Dawntrail or whatever later expansion and just say "the Echo did it".

The fun characters/story beats of FF4 aren't really in any of the references they stuck in, and the main story is actually very stupid so getting it spoiled is a good thing so you don't end up playing it and thinking that you're going to get something good.
Honestly EW didn't actually spoil much. The final boss yes, but virtually everything else is either just a pastiche or cut new from whole cloth and placing a Fiend or reference on top. Virtually nothing in the MSQ here is actually what happens in FF4 itself and the original plot beats are untouched.

If the thirteenth is just one giant FF4 world that went down a different path with different characters, they can get away with functionally basing any shard off of anything they want, and then rewriting the XIVisms into it. This is a game where technically anything can happen for the fanservice and all of Tactics was canon up until the end.

Anyone expecting good writing from Dawntrail in the first place is in for a doozy. I can't see anything loosely defined as "the heroes get involved in the local politics for a new leader" and "the scions split up over a difference of opinion in their hunt for the city of gold" as ending in a way that is worth a damn at this point. I'd normally hope it's just the competitive sort of split up, but I would be entirely unsurprised if someone like Urianger suddenly gets all uppity about us messing up the local culture.

No idea what you're going on about with 5.3, but I agree that Emet got flanderized in EW and I genuinely hope that we never see him again, not even in a flashback. Still, that's a good character that got somewhat ruined later on, which is still better than a character that is shit from beginning to end.

I think they tried to have a repeat of HWs themes of war and sacrifice, except in SB the war is won by entitled, patronizing liars and brats.
They legitimately only had the balls to kill of two scions, one of which was a retcon. The story has no stakes, as nobody but the villains ever dies.
They have stakes, stakes are "everything will die", I prefer to phrase it as consequences. Thancred has his death fake-out in Shadowbringers and Y'shtola's been brought back from the lifestream twice because there's no consequences. No one got loldeaded in a way that even managed to make for any interesting drama temporarily by Meteion because there's no consequences, to the point of Y'shtola blatantly and quickly making it obvious they'll all come back anyway.
Scions just exist to get worfed and exposit at this point but they're fan favorites so there's no lasting consequences worth a damn anymore.

It's like we're a big fat baby even if you're a lv90 big brain that should be able to understand and even work on all this shit alongside everyone else.

I recently found out that mch's sniper shot can trigger the final hit of wildfire which lets them do 56k in one hit. If they really wanted to frick you up they could hold drill for if you panic shield after.
I'm a shadowbab so it's hard to rate them honestly. Through out shadowbringers I was mostly catching up so Endwalker is the only one where I fully experienced it as it was current.
What I can say is that I enjoyed Heavensward's story the most and the content I really like is (nerfed) Eureka and Bozja.
In terms of story ShB is the absolute best.
HW is a close second.
EW was disappointing in many ways but it's still better than SB and ARR(Zenos carried is so fricking hard it's not even funny).

EW is probably the best finale to a long running story that was put together after the fact I've seen. It's not perfect but they manage to retrofit a lot of stuff cleanly enough.
There are a ton of flaws but the most effective thing for me personally was how they finally elaborated on what "hear, feel, think" meant. That was the first mystery any ARR-starter would have had on startup.
If you cared about the story, like actually cared and didn't speed run it to reach SHB like 90% of the current playerbase, then EW is a huge slap in the face to everything built in 1.0, 2.0, and even parts of 3.0.

Because it's done out of convenience to the main plot ending and not naturally resolved. Tempering cure was gonna be a thing since Gabbu, but it was a slow side plot over the course of expansion until the payoff was an attached note to EW. It should've been the feature of its own expansion or something.

EW: 4/10 it was just more of the same from ShB but without any of the content or quirks that made it fun, if it wasn't for SGE being added this expansion pack I would have rated it 3/10

Because the MSQ is both what people remember the most and it's what every single player does. Not every single player will do all the raids, alliance raids, forays, trial series, etc, especially if they stated playing after an expansion was over. But they will have done the MSQ.

I feel like every wipe in a Zeromus Ex fight is the healer's fault. Many times I die from branding/sparking because I don't get healed after flare and just wait to die.
how is it possible to die on anything other than meteor? 95% of wipes are on meteor from what I've seen, the other 5% is people running it down to bio bubbles
It seems like ever since ShB many healers are conditioned to only heal once someone drops below 20%, not realizing that a single tick of some DoTs can down a DPS from 30% if the conditions are right.
I'm actively seeing youtube guide people consistently go "don't stress about how much HP someone has, so long as they have 1 HP you can fix that". And then every boss from HW on that can target the other players besides the Tank for any worthwhile attacks can kill everybody in two or three hits, and you constantly have to make the call of whether they need the heals or not or else they die in the next few seconds. Too many idiots just think "oh it's the 'keep tank alive' job, all you gotta do."

I play with a controller and the first thing that hit my mind once I finally got PLD to 90 was the sheer amount of actions you have to settle onto your hotbars with absolutely no convenience but the clunky XMB double-tap or dual-hold setup, never mind the nightmare that is manually selecting individual party members with the d-pad in a heated fight because you can't tab-target for shit on a controller.
Party targeting works fine on pad, it's just up and down the d-pad and it interacts with soft/hard targeting much more cleanly than most kbm setups. It's enemy targeting that sucks ass sometimes and alliance targeting is pretty shit.

If they just copy-paste the element system from the masked carnivale and place them on enemies it would go even further since now you would pick'n'choose engagement over how hard each mob would be to kill with your current kit. They could even make recolors of existing mobs where the only difference is their asigned element, like red slimes being resistant to fire while blue ones are resistant to ice etc.
This could also encourage more players to play it coop as each player could potentially cover for the others weaknesses by going into DDs with a different starting kit of 5 spells per person or something

How do they even make combat fun again at this point? The mechanics are too rigid and may as well be a 2.5D game of top-down. They stripped so much out to accommodate for newer players and raid meta and both don't actually appreciate the changes. Everything is becoming simpler and simpler and I feel like they'll never become complex again.
Make mechanics harder, get rid of enrage timers, include more dps burst checks, give each dps job unique burst window timing again, and please for the love of god make tanks do more than just take a handful of busters and swap a couple times. Give them adds, make them reposition often.

PotD was (and still is) fun. HoH is less fun but still fine. EO is a fricking waste of effort shitshow becuase it was designed by a fricking baboon who did not understand what made either of the previous DDs interesting or challenging and made 100 floors of "WHAT IF BIG AOE ONESHOT?" and had the fricking gall to reuse the PotD tileset on top of it to really phone it in.
