Xbone being announced as an always-online security nightmare and walled garden should have killed them. The fact that they're only dying NOW, after wasting hundreds of billions of dollars on the acquisitions of ABK and Bethesda-Zenimax, fricking floors me. They should have died over a decade ago, nearly two decades ago. There is no saving them and they don't deserve to be saved.

Turn the Xbox into a PC
Keep the same look but have the xbox part just be a shell that can kick into desktop mode like a steam deck.
Take this same new version of the xboxOS/windows and slap it on a bunch of Steam Deck like devices
Tell gamers they have access to all their steam games through this as well since it's just windows
Then pivot all your studios off this gay $300million games into $20million or smaller budget games with a lot of them being interesting stuff. Put Double Fine in charge of game jams encouraging new ideas and creativity. Use this process to greenlight who gets a few mil to develop.
Bring back Xbox arcade and focus on indies, hard.
Start funding a bunch of shit similar to steam next fest. Host a bunch of demos, best performers get some funding from daddy M$.
Bundle in WoW and ESO subs into gamepass and lower gamepass to $10 a month while getting rid of all different skews. Just have one for PC and Xbox, that's it. Simple.
Make the series X smaller and cheaper and never make another console, or wait a long time like 10+ years. We do not need stronger hardware, we need better games.

I'm not one to dox myself, but in texas around where I live there are a lot of people trading and selling pc parts. On the marketplaces there are a lot of posts looking to sell xboxes or ps5s for pcs and even those looking to trade for steam decks and Rog allies.

I would transform xbox into a PC integrator company. Use the brand to push for a huge economy of scale and sell a decent gaming PC for $800. Maybe consider going the custom APU just to reduce points of failure, but otherwise leave the system as a pretty open platform. Keep gamepass going as it seems to be doing pretty well. Launch a SteamDeck competitor. Fire all D&I officers in the division and curtail all ESG measures.
I wish they would just open up the xboxes to something like steam or even just the windows microsoft store. Warn people that any changes done in the desktop environment isn't on xbox and see what happens.

I think this is the future. The next windows iteration will definitely come with a custom co-pilot bot built into it who will automatically troubleshoot for the odd windows problems and complexities that make normalgays scared of PCs. There will be no reason to keep xbox alive after that happens.
