It has a great form factor and features, but the top screen is just so cheap and flimsy I'm not sure it could even withstand a small drop

Yes ykw3 is not only the best in the series but one of the best games on the 3ds. It has an absurd amount of content and an entire seperate game mode shoved into it, I have 176 hours and have only really started to get deep into the post game content
Ykw1 is good...but the story is recapped/redone in the first couple hours of 2, which I would probably recommend playing before 3 as it expects you to know a bit about the franchise

I personally prefer the xl because it fits nicer in the hands and is easier to get replacement parts for in NA if god forbid something breaks
Although 3ds last forever if you are not a moronic child or smash player. My launch model is still perfect today despite a couple thousand hours of play time
The only real disadvantage is that the n3dsxl doesn't have swappable face plates. It's a nice feature to have but not a deal breaker
Also the n3ds is a bit smaller, so it is very comfortable to throw in your pocket. The n3dsxl is pushing it if you are wearing slimmer pants or shorts or something

If I drop to brightness 3, battery saver, turn off wifi, turn off 3d, and use headphones I get about 7 >sleep mode
Lmao why even use it? Save and close your game like a normal person, nothing is so pressing and will keep you busy for so long you need to leave it in sleep mode for 2 days even it takes 30 seconds to save and close the game
this, I got rid of all my carts years ago when the thing was first jailbroken. kept the boxes for display purposes though and did collect a couple systems because why the frick not. turns out I was right since some carts have begun to rot already

Vanilla? Nope. No where near worth the price. 3D is a gimmick that starts hurting your eyes after 2 minutes and burns through all the power. The camera's only practical purpose is scanning qr codes which will be of no benefit. Actual 3DS library is pretty meh. You got a few masterpieces like kid icarus uprising and niche shit the first 2 senran kagura games but not much else unless you're really into fire emblem or pokeslop
The main benefit of the 3DS is it's the perfect all in one handheld emulation machine
