this video isn't even about finishing a backlog, it's about him deciding he doesn't care enough to beat 70% of the games on his list and then telling you "it's not about finishing the backlog it's about enjoying each game you play!"
Only thing it did for me is gave me the itch to autistically make a spreadsheet for all the games i play and write a little blurb of my thoughts for each one.
yeah I think the point was, and he doesn't actually get to this, but that a backlog isn't something MEANT to be finished. You'll never finish it because more games you want to play come out than you can finish in a year. But if you play games as an obligation instead of for fun, you're missing the whole point of playing games. Now, I'd say "gaming isn't a job" but for some youtubers it actually is, and they need to play FotM shit or they'll miss out on being able to make video games about something. That's why it's easier to find a niche than be an overall gaming youtuber.
If you cut your time on Ganker and replaced most of it with gaming time you'd actually make progress and have more fun.
Stop making excuses for being CLICK BAITED YOU moronS
You didn't even get baited, it sounds like he gave you an answer. Finishing a backlog =/= beating all the games, that'd be silly.
>Video titled "A Guide on How to have a nice day" >Just wait until it's your time because life is worth living despite all the ups and downs. You are valid. 🙂
Well you're not wrong.
yea he asks them to decide between 6, 8, 9, & 12 and his chat narrowed him down to 9. Then he says when he finally played it that 9 has a horribly slow start and he hated it so he dropped it after a few hours.
I do have a spreadsheet of games I played but I don't do the blurb. I already know what I think of the game, I don't need to write that down. And maybe my thoughts will change with time, do I want to update every single blurb for every single game? When I already have the perfect, constantly updating blurb in my own head?

If you have a backlog that means you didnt want to play those games to begin with. I dont fricking get "backlogs" at fricking all. Just play the fricking games you want to play. I FRICKING WISH i had games I wanted to play. Yall are fricking moronic.
>see game on sale >"oh dang great price! I'll buy it now and play it when I get a chance" >rinse repeat >you now have 20 games to beat
it's pretty easy to get funneled into it, particularly if you're on PC and browse Steam often.
Yeah, i buy games as they come out, I doubt Black folk do that. I buy games that I want to play, and beat them, or stop playing them. I dont pretend that there are games I want to play as I spend all day watching youtube instead of playing video games.
Do people usually take backlog to mean specifically games that they've purchased but haven't beaten yet? I only have one or two of those at the moment.
But if backlog refers to the games that have released that I want to play but haven't gotten around to yet, there are hundreds of those and they release faster than I can play them so I will never be done.
I've bought one new game in the last ~10 years so I've played everything I was ever going to play. I've got 200 games loaded into Steam from bundles that I'll never play and that's fine.
I dont have one. When I see a game I like, I buy it or pirate it. Then I play it. If I like it, I keep playing it and finish it. If I dont, I drop it within hours.
Why do people feel the need to rush or desperately finish their backlog? I have a backlog of old games that I will take my time enjoying because I have no obligation to finish the games I am playing, neither do I have the obligation to finish my current backlog before buying new games. If I see games on a 80-90% discount and it slightly interests me I will pay for it and sleep like a baby even if I decide I want to play it a year from now.
Perhaps the only thing that would compel me to "rush" a game in my backlog is if a sequel comes out and so I would want to finish the previous games before release, but the problem is new games are dog shit so I never feel the need to do this.
My "backlog" is simply all the games I want to play and I just play whatever I'm feeling up to between new releases I'm interested in. I don't know why people act autistic about this shit
Because zoomies are morons that want to speedrun games and then complain about having nothing to play, but then also get angry at people that don't want to speedrun games but rather whenever they want.
It also annoys me how people's "backlogs" are always just shit from the last 5 years and they don't go back and play older games. I just recently played the King's Field trilogy and that shit was fricking awesome.
It just keeps growing I bought 50-70 games last year and only played 5 or 6 of them.
I'm thinking about just quitting gaming, honestly. I don't have the time or drive to play vidya anymore.
That's actually fine to me. What I find weird is that he felt the need to "feign interest" (his words not mine) in those games in the first place. Just admit you want to play trash rather than the popular thing. Jesus Christ.
Started on my jrpg backlog yesterday. Tried Alundra, dropped it after nearly 2 hours. Moved on to Final Fantasy VI. Enjoying that one, I want to finish it
I make zero progress on my backlog. Even when I say I'm going to, the reality is that I really just don't get much time at my pc nowadays. Slowly making my way through Rogue Trader and Slay the Princess, and after those I'll find another couple to play. Maybe I'll get Armoured Core 6
i dont have one
I don’t play videogames or consume any media until wokeness has been completely destroyed
did woke people eat your hamster
Finished my backlog half an hour ago.

Kind of the point, gay. Either you're autistic enough to see the plan through or you learn that it doesn't matter (because 99% of all games are trash)
Stop making excuses for being CLICK BAITED YOU moronS
I just wanted some background noise while I work, I ultimately decided he's a pretty cringey dude who cannot meme.
its just the youtube meta. it was a good couple of videos. go back to yelling at clouds
>Video titled "A Guide on How to have a nice day"

Is that the video where they ask their twitch chat which final fantasy he should play and he only chooses one of them?
yea he asks them to decide between 6, 8, 9, & 12 and his chat narrowed him down to 9. Then he says when he finally played it that 9 has a horribly slow start and he hated it so he dropped it after a few hours.
What a moron. They are totally different games and in no far replace each other. I know people that hate 12 but love 10 and vice versa.
I do have a spreadsheet of games I played but I don't do the blurb. I already know what I think of the game, I don't need to write that down. And maybe my thoughts will change with time, do I want to update every single blurb for every single game? When I already have the perfect, constantly updating blurb in my own head?
It's interesting to see your past thoughts on a game from the time, it's easy to forget the details of why you thought of it that way.

thanks for saving me 56 mins

Never have had a backlog because I just youtubers or streamers play the games while I play LoL.
whats up backloggers. today we're going to be looking at american Black crime rates.

that's not a backlog
that's just a list of crap you wasted money on and don't plan on playing
>and don't plan on playing
People really think making things up is how you engage in internet discourse.
>see [things] on sale
>"oh dang great price!"
This is just blind consumerism.
no that's just basic hunter-gatherer instinct
cope paypig
I'm not saying it's justified, it's just not consumerism. It's better described as scarcity mindset or FOMO.
consumerism is
>I don't care I want it
scarcity is
>I need to get this before I miss out
Literally me when I saw the XCOM series on sale for $20. Didn't play 2 or Chimera Squad, but at least the first one was worth the price.
stop being brown
Yeah, i buy games as they come out, I doubt Black folk do that. I buy games that I want to play, and beat them, or stop playing them. I dont pretend that there are games I want to play as I spend all day watching youtube instead of playing video games.
All i have left is Siren 1-2, which i've been halfway done for a year now
>backlog
>re4r
What
Do people usually take backlog to mean specifically games that they've purchased but haven't beaten yet? I only have one or two of those at the moment.

I stopped buying any game longer than 10 hours. My backlog is growing but it feels more manageable at least.
I don't have a backlog because I don't play games longer than 20 hours. No game should be longer that 22+
I do agree, my twin. I've posted here many times that Metal Gear Solid 3 is the longest good game.
Before I buy anything or start anything I check HowLongToBeat to make sure it's under 20 hours.
I don't have enough time to ever finish it.
I've bought one new game in the last ~10 years so I've played everything I was ever going to play. I've got 200 games loaded into Steam from bundles that I'll never play and that's fine.
These days I'm just using gamepass
I dont have one. When I see a game I like, I buy it or pirate it. Then I play it. If I like it, I keep playing it and finish it. If I dont, I drop it within hours.
The bigger it gets, the more indecisive I get. That's why I'm not playing any new games except for Rebirth until I've gone through it.
I just don't wanna buy a PS5 to not get spoiled while I wait 6 months for rebirth
The same idiots who never finish games are the ones who get online and complain about games having not enough content.
hey backloggers whats up
hey backloggers
i will finish at least one of these games in 2024
Kentucky Route Zero is one of the games I bought this week...
AI is pretty short
tip to enjoy Neon White: skip all the cutscenes, pretend the game has no story. then it becomes really good
Why do people feel the need to rush or desperately finish their backlog? I have a backlog of old games that I will take my time enjoying because I have no obligation to finish the games I am playing, neither do I have the obligation to finish my current backlog before buying new games. wwwhats up backloggers sorry i havent made a video in a while
Finished 5 games on it this month. Just 168 to go until my steam library is clean
My "backlog" is simply all the games I want to play and I just play whatever I'm feeling up to between new releases I'm interested in. I don't know why people act autistic about this shit

I need another lockdown where I get paid to just look at my phone once every 20mins to see if someone in my small team needed IT help.
I finished so many games in my backlog in 2019.
It just keeps growing I bought 50-70 games last year and only played 5 or 6 of them.
I'm thinking about just quitting gaming, honestly. I don't have the time or drive to play vidya anymore.
>playing games you WANT to play instead of playing what people deem popular
based
That's actually fine to me. What I find weird is that he felt the need to "feign interest" (his words not mine) in those games in the first place. Just admit you want to play trash rather than the popular thing. Jesus Christ.
I finished mine a while ago, I said I would quit vidya after finishing it but I'm still replaying some games, it's kinda hard to just let go
Trying to play Kotor 2 but it sucks ass, I always end up playing Tekken 8 instead
Started on my jrpg backlog yesterday. Tried Alundra, dropped it after nearly 2 hours. Moved on to Final Fantasy VI. Enjoying that one, I want to finish it
i gave up 97hr weebrpgs and have beaten 4 games already.
>delete all the shitty games i added just because they were free promotions
there, backlog cleared by 75%
Backlog?
I make zero progress on my backlog. Even when I say I'm going to, the reality is that I really just don't get much time at my pc nowadays. Slowly making my way through Rogue Trader and Slay the Princess, and after those I'll find another couple to play. Maybe I'll get Armoured Core 6
i only have anime and vn backlog. never bothered making on for games
