I'm still fricking mad. Not only did they ruin 3, but they also ruined Jill and totally shat on her character, and thanks to homosexual based boys now, if you point that out, you get called sexist.
REmake 3 will go down in history as one of the remakes that retroactively damaged the reputation of the original game the most, as if the original RE3 didn't get enough shit already I'm certain all these hacks who thankfully are off any major projects now just made it so its reputation never improves.
RE3 is still pretty well liked, it’s wild how REmake and REmake 2 are considered among the best games in the series and REmake 3 is generally only considered above 6, and maybe 5 and revelations and that’s debatable. It is better than 6 definitely though, 6 is an awful game

REmake3 is better than 6, 5 , 7, 8 and rev 1 sue me.
I have gamepass, I'm not even giving them the download. Callisto sucked but them releasing this around the same time, after skullfricking the original franchise and the devs to death, is tasteless beyond reason. Frick EA.
>i didn't get it >this is your fault
did you also get mad back in the day when people would call you a moron for seeing a panda? or are you too young to know what that is either?
That's just kinda how shit is with ray tracing right now. If you disabled raytracing then the 4090 would absolutely demolish the game even at 4k.
Ray tracing will bring any hardware configuration to its knees if you're not using DLSS/FSR, that's just how expensive the feature is from a technical standpoint. Portal RTX proved that. Optimization has nothing to do with it.
Gonna have to agree with this.
Remake looks great graphically and makes some great game and story adjustments - at the cost of being too expensive, as well as introducing some stupid story elements (like making the Nicole hallucinations too "obvious" for thing.)
Pretty good remake which, at the very least -didn't cut a frickton of content like RE2RE & RE3RE, but not worth the $60 price tag. I'll get it once it goes on sale for half price.
>Alien is a much better movie than Aliens
Alien is a much different movie than Aliens, I enjoy both, but they're not really much comparable other than the horror of the monster.
>Dead Space 3 was good.
Anon....just because the remake was good, doesn't mean you should defend the worst game in the series. I liked the beginning when Isaac was floating in the ship graveyard but the rest of the game and the story is terrible.
It's bad. Every enemy encounter spawns an enemy behind you and in front of you because it's designed with co-op in mind, and good luck finding someone else to play that garbage with you.

It’s an alright game but the microtransactions were moronic, having the final ending being dlc, and the coop not being splitscreen was boneheaded. It isn’t a bad game, but it’s a game saddled with some really moronic choices
>Better than Callisto
Debatable. It can be considered better than Callisto on the mere merit that it has at least kept the core gameplay of DS1 intact. But at that point it is an unoptimized pos that has downgraded the general feel and art style of its original while also being woke garbage. At that point it is on par with Callisto especially now that the later has replayability value with its NG+ mode being patched in. Best bang for you buck is get DS1 (the original) and Callisto.

You are all blinded by your preconceived notion that anything Dead Space related by EA post DS3 is shit so you refuse to accept the reality that Dead Space remake is one of the most faithful remakes in the gaming industry.
Oh no no no
Once again, if a developer willingly gets into bed with the Devil then they shouldn't be surprised when they get fricked.
The cold hard truth is they sold out the first chance they got. Don't idolize these money obsessed israelites, senpai.
When the Blasphemous developers (20 guys from Spain) were looking for a developer they had tons of offers, many for lots more upfront money bit they wisely chose one who didn't take controlling interest of their game.
The entire remake, for me, just feels like one giant "Eh" moment. I mean sure it looks good I guess, but for the price it's pushing and the content of the game itself, I might as well just buy the original three and that one rails shooter on the Wii and play through those.
I don't feel the desire to praise it, or hate on it. It just feels like it's there. It just feels like... eh.
And since we're on Ganker all the shoehorned in 2020s-isms like the bathrooms and the propaganda posters based on the OG's dev team being mostly blackified also feels like just a big "Eh" considering how often it happens these days.
I don't like it.
I don't like how the USG Ishimura went from being the first in it's design, a brutalist industrialist planet cracker designed at the ground level to be a working vessel to being a commercial airport in it's design.
I don't like how overtly illuminated the new ships is. I understand they added more fog to help counter this but the new Ishimura looks like some cyberpunk techno ship rather than the decrepit 60 year old mining operation vessel that has one operation left inside before being decommissioned. (People have said to try HDR and upon closer inspection I will admit that SOME areas look darker, but overall the game is more well lit than the original)
I don't like how the Necromorphs now suddenly have pockets of pustules ridden all over the vessel as if they were influenced by Warhammer's Nurgle rather masses of organs, bones, flesh and skin on the walls from the original game.
I don't like how the Necromorphs were made to sound more human and organic rather than the uncanny non-descript grunts and screeches.
I don't like how the new R.I.G.S were designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator rather than being designed around functionality and respect to the game's universe. The biggest offender is the new Advanced Soldier RIG, sacrificing an iconic design to chase modern blizzard/marvel trends.
I don't like how Isaac at every turn pulls off his helmet everytime he talks to someone.
I don't like the emphasis on cutscenes
I don't like the new angle with Elizabeth Cross, it lessens the impact of Isaac being a schizo.
I don't like that I can't discuss this game without being dismissed as a /misc/ false flag.
I don't like EA.
I like the gameplay, they added DS2's combat (Javelin impale) and it is perfect.

Who the frick cares about all that? If the game is fun the game is fun, why are all you a bunch of nit picking fricks? Just sit out and let us play if you hate it so much.

6/10.
It's still Dead Space but only worth getting if you care more about graphic fidelity and more responsive controls (new game takes improvements made to the gameplay from DS2 and onwards.).
Original game from 2008 has better lighting, sound direction and overall atmosphere.
Game is more faithful to the source material than RE2make was, despite EA's obvious pandering for ESG/Blackrock Credit.
Is it better than the original? No.
Is it a bad game? No.
Should you buy it? _No.
>Butchered the Advanced Soldier RIG aesthetically
The new military RIG looks dumb but don't pretend anyone liked the original.
It was a helmet in the original too, he had to take it off at the end of the game. The retracting helmets we get in DS2 are more advanced than what Isaac had in the first game.

They're literally saying the game is good, this isn't the win you're looking for contrarians...
It's a remaster anon... Of course the game play will be at least decent or else why would it be made in the first place? The point is whether the remaster is able to justify it's existence when the original exists and it doesn't because the aesthetics are a step in the wrong direction. How can someone not understand such a simple position?
Yes, yes they did. DS2 made a profit and it wasn't "enough" so they pushed DS3 to be a dude bro shooter over an atmospheric shooter. It still sold well, but not as much as DS2 and public opinion was sullied. EA then took Visceral out back and shot them in the back of the head live they've done so many companies before it

>-New lighting ruins atmosphere >-New sound direction ruins atmosphere
Don't understand how this keep being repeated. Dead Space 2008 is overly bright and washed out to the point it's one constant shade of light grey. The Remake's sound design also clearly has more effort in its reverb to the point you can hear necromorphs in the vents from some distance away.
I think outside of the necromorphs sounding freakier in the original, the sound design is much better. You can hear the ost and hallucination voices better and sometimes you hear shit you think is a necromorph but isn’t and you even can hear necromorphs from rooms away
Yeah, the necromorphs sound kinda comical in this at times. Especially the ones with the exploding arms which screech like morons. But the actual industrial sound effects are IMO far better in the remake.

I haven't touched the remake yet, but I just completed the OG again, and there's a clear distinction between an enemy making noise and what's purely ambient noise. No chance for me to hear something and second guess if its danger or not. Does the remake do anything to address this?
This could be just me but i found the environmental sounds to blend with the necromorphs better like a shower turning on and sounding like hissing, or pipes clanking sounding like one crawling through a vent, and sometimes vents explode but nothing comes out

Fascinating. I was on the fence about this remake, but each thread I peak at tells me I should just jump in. I love 1 and 2 so much, and have been listening to the fan audio books lately.

For a hardcore fan who has been wanting more, i’d say it’s worth it, since it isn’t entirely the same maybe only 15% is different but it isn’t quite the same game. For a casual i’d say wait for a sale but if you’re that invested go ahead it is a really good game thanks to it’s base being incredible
I think it would have helped to make them sound more like regular people screaming, they moved it too far into a weird/goofy sound. The actual ambient screams they do in the background sound better than the enemy ones, because they're still distinctly human.
PSA for PS5 players: patch just released that much improves visual quality. I just finished my first playthrough, and while I never noticed the super blocky low res stuff some people were getting, picture quality was pretty blurry. Jumping into NG+ with the patch is night and day, it looks way better now.
>destroyed my homie Hammond
I don’t care if it makes the original gameplay look like wet ass or it absolutely streamlines the storyline or whatever it ruined my cool black bro. Hammond was your only ally in that game besides nutjob Didact doctor and they absolutely raped him.
FRICK that.
I am all for the remake. They can remake newer games as far as I’m concerned. Soma, prey 2017, amnesia,e” etc. if the graphics and gameplay are considerably better and they add some shit then that’s what’s up I’ll spend 60 bucks on it all day. A Swedish metal band rereleased their entire discography with much better production and it was worth every penny. Their music easily stands the rest of time but rhe production was awful when they first released it.
>Remake a game that's barely 15 years old >Add in a bunch of woke shit for the Twittards that don't buy or play games >Add in shit that only zoomers who grew up on FN@F could possibly like
The Dead Space remake is just a necromorph using the skin of the original Dead Space as a host.
REmake was directed by the original director, Shinji Mikami, preserving the original vision and celebrating the game with the fans.
Dead Space Remake is a business decision to make money because in today's market remakes, good or bad, make bank. They're cheap to develop and are extremely popular among the masses. Resident Evil 3 Remake is viewed as one of the worst remakes of all time and it was a commercial success for Capcom. EA also benefited from Calisto Protocol because it showed the market heads that there is a large demand for the IP. Glen's frick up gave EA a silver platter.
Anyone who played the original and are fans of Dead Space would not support the remake, full stop.
I can't wait for your contract to end, then we can actually have discussions instead of your $15/hour shillposting.
NTA but I feel like they didn't. People are acting like the entire game is different but the major plot beats are still the same and the ending is still the same. Hell, I enjoy the alternate ending better because it sits exactly in line with where Dead Space 2 starts Isaac off. I see people swearing they played the original but then they'll say that the ending was ruined because the video file twist was stupid, and I'm really not sure if I'm being fricked with or if people straight up did not play the original.
There's an actual major difference between being a PS1 game and being remade for a newer console as opposed to a 360 game that still looks better than a lot of other games nowadays being turned into typical goyslop thanks to a massive corporation like EA.
Worse than the original in terms of lightning, sound design, animation, voice acting, gunsounds, designs and other small things.
The story changes break its own lore and just look stupid as they are on the level of bad marvel movies.
It crashes and stutters like moronic atm and after the new patch it got even worse. Idk how it has a better score than Callisto when it has as many issues just running the game.

All in all not a bad remake, covers the bases pretty well from the original. If anyone is still on the fence at this point just wait to pick it up on a sale. If it drops to 20-30 I'd go for it, play the original to scratch the itch.
My only gripe is that I personally couldn't deny Mercer his transcendence but I'm glad he is still denied in the remake.

and ESG scores directly inflate stock prices and associated metrics, which often have management bonuses tied to them, as institutional money like pension funds are often hard wired to buy the "social justice".
Also ESG is not just woke, it is all the other new age fads like green bullshittery and "amoral" industries. I love ESG as it is a great time to seek out dividend payers in "filthy" industries like tobacco, alcohol, weapons or oil as they are all dirty and thus tend to have stock prices at their true price level or even just below it
>There was no way they could continue with the IP and be successful, you know this, I know this, they know this. > you are all upset because a few posters in the game have a black person instead of a white person
So, they knew they were fricked but decided to do something so moronic for fun ? im starting to believe the meme about adding woke shit to get free fund is real.
>Who the frick is this made for
Leftists and the dev team only. Like how Saints Row reboot was only made for the dev team. Now the studio that made it got sold off to GearBox.
troony that was for parents in the 90's/ 2ks who believed videogames were toys for children....but then again leftycuckholds are grown children so I guess it is fitting
They couldnt fire the blue haired woman after their 6 month of meeting to decide who to replace with black people or if the ship really needed helicopter gender bathroom, so they had to fake their work until the very end.
God damn that's so gay. Like thank you, I was trying to enjoy a horror game but please go ahead and pre-emptively ruin the suspense for the 4 people so far up their own ass they're sitting there playing a horror game and expecting it to tip toe around their imaginary trauma.
>Don't moan
That's at least better but still gay as frick. Same with the bathroom shit like we haven't had unisex bathrooms everywhere since the 60's. Virtue signaling homosexualry.
It shouldn't exist in the first place, I don't care if it's an option, why even include it, I honestly don't get it, if you were going to have a problem with it to begin with why is a little warning in the corner meant to suddenly make it alright, are you meant to look away? Does it warn you every time you shoot a necromorph?
>I don't know what to tell you.
Tell me why someone would willingly purchase a grotesque horror games about aliens using humans as morphed suits then go into settings to turn on the TW setting?
It's not like it's the first dead space released to not know that it features spooky scenes / events.
I agree it’s pointless but it’s not like it’s on by default and it probably took like 10 min to implement, they probably had an intern do it

Yet. Then the player will be asked on first start, then it will be on by default ruining the artistic direction.
How's the remake execution on that log anyway? It was one of the best in the OG
Mercer was bragging about how much the "volunteer" trusted him and knew his part to play while the poor guy was screaming in the background
>you have to turn on the trigger warnings! >it's off by default!!
if there was an option to turn off black people they'd be having nuclear meltdown on twitter.
What's the best way of playing Dead Space today? The remake? Can I just download the original off Steam and play as it is, or is there any fix I should download too? 4k 120hz screen if it matters
Google mousefix or use a controller, that's pretty much all you need. Vsync your monitor as well, anything over 120hz and the game starts shitting bricks
I ran the original Dead Space two days ago, it plays absolutely fine. The mouse was weird while it was at 800x600, but when i changed it to my desktop resolution it worked fine.
There's also a workaround to get 60 FPS, but i just play it as it is.
Don't like how they treated my brother Hammond, completely butchered his participation in the game. Specially making him to a "recurring" necromorph like Chen, that was stupid. Why so much focus on that particular necromorph, just stupid. Hammond dying to the brute was more impactful because he managed, like Isaac did, to learn how to survive the simpler creatures.
You want the truth? It's 2023, and the gaming development community has a higher proportion of LGBT identifying employees than most industries, and they self-insert all the time.
Hammond and Chen were gay. It's never expressly stated, but the implication is all there. Why else would he be so crestfallen about losing Chen?
It's satisfying as frick. The third upgrade increases the radius of the secondary fires explosion. Combined with the Force guns secondary, it obliterates large packs in a single shot.
Ok that’s actually a really good response. KCD i’m glad didn’t have modern woke shit because it would’ve made no sense at all, even having a woman pc is pushing it. Dead space is at least in the future and everyone is an insane markerhead
shouldn't the arm of the man-side be parallel with the torso instead of both being angled diagonally? otherwise they just took the woman stick figure and cut-off half of her dress
Everything I've seen leads me to believe it's utter garbage and I'm not going to buy it. >inb4 /misc/gay
It being a remake at all is enough to make me hate it.
its bad.
play the orginal.
Even the death scenes are ruined.
The Earthworm jim hell screams in the final boss death scene are removed too making it worse. even the crunch on Isacc is gone
Anon, you're missing the point here. The implication is the people onboard the ship are part of the LGBTBBQ brigade and they are either transformed into the monsters you have to brutally kill or are brutally killed themselves.
It's representation alright. Representation that shows you're not special and you are still fricked.
Representation is moronic, nobody gives a frick which way you swing. It's for people who base their whole identity around this shit because they're devoid of any other vestige of human personality.
Fricking game hard crashed my PS5 earlier today when I went into the ps5's menu. Had to turn it off by holding the power button. That said, it's miles better then the RE2 and 3 remakes.
I'd say if it's going to be green lit, it will be soon so it can capitalize on the Remakes success.
Ideally, late next year.

Probably this although it's more likely to be Early 2024 because it won't face the competition that comes with being released late in the year.

Yeah I would think it'd be faster since they can just build off the DS1 Remake engine now. I'd honestly be okay with them remaking the whole thing, I'm curious what 3 would end up looking like.

DS1 was inarguably the easiest shit to remake. the ishimura is just reused corridors with slightly differing variations. the sprawl had all kinds of varying locations.
Fricking game hard crashed my PS5 earlier today when I went into the ps5's menu. Had to turn it off by holding the power button. That said, it's miles better then the RE2 and 3 remakes.
I didn't think RE2 remake was all that bad. If I had it my way though it would have been a fixed camera game like the RE1 remake, but that's just me.
I will agree that RE3 was complete utter dogshit though.
So I'm playing dead space 2008 now and whenever I start aiming the mouse sensitivity just plummets. Is this intended? I already disabled vsync and set a frame cap.
Just tried >on in game/ off in nvidida >off in game/ on in nvidia >off in game/ fast in nvidia
and I don't see any difference between the 3. Maybe it was fixed in the GOG version.
Was in the original too, though not in audio. Speaking of that, doesn't look like they retconned the marker stopping the necromorphs even though they did between 1 and 2, is there any reference to why it works different or did they just copy the story
>is there any reference to why it works different in the full version of Nicole's message she says that she asked the Marker to "make it stop", and it seems like it decided to grant her request instead of doing Brethren Moon bullshit
>3, the worst game in the series and most least-common-denominator, actually had the greatest need for kinesis looting due to all the spacewalking
You'd have thought the habit would stick. I wonder how many people claiming to "love" the original games actually played the bloody things
I don't understand why people are saying this remake is on par with the RE1 remake. Its a $70 game for a game that aged perfectly while RE1 remake was a remake of a game that didn't aged well.
God I fricking hate this moron.
It was somewhat comfy when he used to either laugh his ass off at shitty creepypasta or doing deep dives into various other shit but now he just became another moronic reaction channel.
This dude is an uber normalgay. I remember him back when he was still doing stupid creepypasta shit early on in his channel, he also tried dabbling with videogame streaming, he didn't really know what to make of his channel before he settled on whatever this is(before being a normalgay news channel he also tried doing actual paranormal shit and, more interestingly, talking about malware and viruses/deepweb)
During one of his streams(I'm pretty sure it's wiped by now, it would be almost 10 years by now), I actually introduced him to the idea of Chris Chan by pretending to be him, then linking to the cwcki to "prove" it was me. I still remember the bewilderment, how he went from "I'm 12(mentally) and what is this" to trying to stifle his laughter and keep his cool to an all out hyena laugh as he was browsing thru the main page and then clicked on the main article(chris himself). He only stopped after he saw cwc penis with sonichu drawn on it, at that point he immediately remembered he was streaming mostly to minors and closed the page in panic, then banned me. I was till pretending to be cwc and kept going on about the trolls and how I hated them, it was great
Then, years later, I find he is still making videos and has hot takes about chris chan, all normalgay ones of course, even sneaking a few cwc jokes and references here and there. I take pleasure knowing how easy it is to introduce normalgay morons like him to something, one of the first times I did it but definitely wasn't the last
Anyways, his content now sucks and hew is a massive fricking moron. Saving this screencap in case anyone wants to take him seriously
It was made to gauge interest in rebooting the franchise. I hope it sells well enough to get more.
Dead Space is my favorite series.
>Black person poster in the LE >implying anyone wants to hang this on a wall
kek, I would sooner do this with the cringey old condrey one
it's alright. love that Isaac can talk. he had a really funny interaction with Kyne just now, after being dragged for the umpteenth time by a tenticle.
Isaac: FRICK this ship.
Kyne: You're alive? Altman be pr..
Isaac: And frick Altman too.
I think they handled Isaac perfectly. He feels exactly as he should for character we see in 2 who's sick of the necromorph bullshit. You can feel that Chad rage flowing through him from time to time. Props to them using the same VA too
Where the checkpoints in the original always so bad?
>Stasis some enemy to run to objective >hit objective >then die soon after >reload checkpoint only to immediately get hit immediately by enemies you earlier stasis'd
Tiedmann and Earthgov found Isaac adrift driven completely insane, he was drugged and experimented on to make him give up the Marker codes. The wording on that was confusing because it sounded like they literally forced Isaac to build it but it's probably just that he handed over the keys to the kingdom. I felt the new ending works and sets up Isaac's insanity in 2 better, the Screamer ending from 1 was essentially the team not knowing if they'd get a sequel iirc
He was tortured on-top of getting scraped for Marker blueprints alongside Stross. It was implied he wasn't willingly forking over how to build a marker, but given how gibbering insane the Marker makes people, they can re-frame the torture pretty easily if they remake DS2.
And they will when a remaster would be just fine given the game aged well.
ok bros I have been mainlining upgrades on cutter and first machine gun, the blade launcher and flamethrower seem kinda shit and I dont want to spread my ammo and upgrades until i have a better suit.
is this a smart choice or a tard choice
I never upgrade the cutter because I find it boring. Machine gun is also pretty boring. The ripper is satisfying as frick, but pretty useless in the endgame when you're dealing with more than three enemies regularly. Flamethrower is apparently good now, based on what other anons have said. I still prefer the Force gun for it's secondary over it though.
You should only ever carry two weapons to weight the ammo drop tables, since what drops is mostly based on the weapons you currently have. The ripper is garbage, the pulse rifle is garbage, the plasma cutter and the force gun are the most useful weapons in the game and amongst the most ammunition efficient.
The line cutter is just a more hungry version of the plasma cutter with a wider projectile. It's pretty niche, since it's only useful against lurkers, or when slashers are lined up for the projectile to get multiple hits. I've personally never had much cause to use it.
No, that's the survey charge gun, which is very good, but obviously situational. You get better use out of it in DS2 since it was practically made for the stalker encounters.

Did they really make all the nodes give stat upgrades? Is that for every weapon? I liked how in the original and 2 you could plan a little for each weapon to get the optimal path and save a few power nodes

Yeah, no more wasteful empty nodes now. I think they wanted people to use more weapons.

What about the RIG? Surely they can't just have all the health upgrades in a row, the idea was that you'd have to put more effort in to get the most health

I liked the empty nodes to be honest, you had to decide if you wanted keep a node on you in case you came across a supply room or if you wanted to go for an improvement at a larger cost.
The Line Gun has the most efficient ammo in terms of inventory space/drop size/sale value, so it's good to keep on you even if you don't intend on using it.
>got any good mods for dead sp- >NOOO DONT PLAY THAT ONE GET THE REMAKE
im officially convinced some of you people are actually unironically paid to advertise here
Apart from suit dlc I think people just did suit/weapon recolours so nothing interesting.
Afaik the only noteworthy thing you can do is fix the horrid mouseaim and inject reshade
Isaac no longer being a silent protagonist is just about the only thing the remake has over the original, everything else just feels like change done for the sake of change rather than improving things.
Didn't love it, didn't hate it, it's just kinda there.
Yeah, that's all he really needed. He currently looks too well kept to be the Isaac from every other game, while he does change from game to game, Isaac is always scruffy, tired, and haunted looking. Remake Isaac looks like he's just recently showered and shaved and woken up from a restful sleep.
It's discordant with the situation he's actually being put through.
He was on the Ishiumura for 2 days (I habeeb), scooped up by EarthGov, had a short debrief, stuffed in stasis, taken out for occasional mind probes for 3 ficking years.
my favourite weapon in these games has always been the javelin. I was sort of hoping they'd just include it in the remake, but I know you purists would have had an autistic meltdown.
is there any fix for the ass performance on PC yet? Getting somewhat normal fps, but randomly throughout I get dropped down to 15fps until I restart the game. 3070, i7, 42gb ram.
The most upsetting thing about this for me is that random hologram dude just existing.
Did Dead Space always have Star Wars holograms? Because I swear they didn't before.
Then clearly I've played 1 more than 2 recently because I don't remember that shit at all.
Guess I can make up the seethe of the Ishimura being old as frick so it shouldn't have that new fangled tech in it or whatever, but that sounds like too much work.
DS2 had a talking hologram when you went up to activate the solar array, a big part of that level was shutting down the computer, which displayed as a hologram woman.
It does, and of course lots of holographic interfaces, but they're always clearly projected from something, either a terminal, door, or something else.
ANTI's full body hologram is projected from this big clunky terminal on the floor.
Is it just me or is the Air Filtration Tower in Hydroponics skippable?
I'm doing NG+ and I was able to just take the elevator up to the Filtration Tube area without having to go through the tower
>walk through dark corridor >monster jumps out from vent >painstakingly shoot its' limbs off before it has a chance to lumber over to you and bite off your head >repeat for 15 hours
Was it kino?
>flesh moons was all moronic.
Flesh moons are unironically great. I love that they at least ended DS3 with a "HUMANITY IS FRICKED" ending, because it's perfect.
>spaceship that has gender neutral bathrooms for their openly gay/bi/transgender crew get brutally murdered and eviscerated or transform into horrific abominations of flesh
It's good. I think my only real complaint is a couple animations feel a little stiff like the stomping, but I might be remembering 2's smoother/faster stomps more than DS1's. Some issues people have might be misremembering the first game's issues with 2 and 3 which I think people remember more. I don't really like what they did to the characters either, Hammond was a bro in DS1 and Kendra was a b***h, felt like they tried to swap it with making Hammond more bland and Kendra more "likeable," but it's pointless given the plot twist anyway.
A lot of the character deaths were weirdly tame compared to the original's too. Hammond's was definitely more brutal with him getting ripped from limb before your eyes and then thrown at you.
Hammond's new death is absolutely brutal. He sees that Chen is dead, realizes he's fricked too and pushes them both into the singularity core to be exploded into a shower of blood.
>original devs get purged from the game posters, communist party style >replaced by Black folk >gaslighting at every opportunity when you call it out >mfw /misc/ was right again
If you played Dead Space for its mechanics, its like walking in to your parents fricking but its really two morphs dry humping each other with their faces still on.
If its just a nostalgia trip and you haven't been near the game in 15 years or never played it, its great.
Why is everything so fricked in the remake. Intro necromorph looks like he has down syndrome and the bottom arms are stuck in A pose, fricking necromorphs are all hairless and infector cutscene straight up shaves a dudes hair off instantly, why does the gore look pasted on, why are the bodies all green blueish, why do the animations look less fluid than the original, why does the new isaac look near nothing like the dead space 2 isaac, why is all the camera angles fricked for comms, why does all the sound effects sound shittier, why do they have a setting to straight up warn you for gore in a cutscene in a horror game. I swear the bar was set so fricking low and they deliver a mediocre remake with the only selling point being the graphics and lighting are better but 4090s cant even run it.
Strange you'd think the necromorphs would've infected the body by no, its basically free real estate. Then again it might be fresh enough that they haven't found it yet.
I legit don't give a shit about the story, dialog changes, or the fricking bathrooms. Who gives a frick.
What I do care about is the following:
I cant fricking see shit. Visibility is beyond poor.
AI doesnt pacify when offscreened.
Nothing flinches like it should
TK has borderline FULL SCREEN magnetism, how the frick has no one spotted this. Try taking a slasher arm and using it to get another. It center masses 90% of the time.
Gun balance is significantly worse.
The menus are laggy as shit. 6 times I hit escape to leave the bench before it lets me, fricking hell.
Hunter has been declawed. Just walk away from him. Its the fricking Pinky from Doom now but without the interplay with other elements in the game.
They somehow made Brutes worse. Cant even leg them from the front anymore. Turns on a dime and legging it to get it to spit at you is entirely unviable now since he crawls at you AT THE SAME SPEED
Guardians have more health now. Frick me in particular
The Zero G combat sections fricking suck wiener. You know in 2 they only had you fight Nests and exactly two Lurkers in a hallway in Chapter 6. Wanna know why? Because its Eblola.
The replacements for power node doors gets incredibly obnoxious fast. They dont even bother having choices later on in the game and just have mandatory backtracking to it to cycle between doors or a lift you have to use for progression.
Frick. The reception of this game tells me very few people understood what was going on under the hood when you started shooting things. People instead just latch onto the woke shit instead of addressing how shit this remake is as a game.
the woke shit is an indication that it's a bad game. only a dumb NPC consoomer would care to investigate further and waste his time and money to find out the hard way that it's a bad game
>Hunter has been declawed
Is it really this fricking bad? I remember when i played the og back during release week that the hunter was a fricking menace.
He didn't even play the game if he thinks gun balance is worse. He's literally LARPing off of some shitty streamer he's watched, because in the OG almost all of the guns were dogshit and you were better off selling the ammo.
What's different about the Hunter? He was never particularly hard to juke unless you accidentally backed into a corner or table or something.
I agree on the flinching thing, I feel like the necros move faster in general but also don't really flinch from general damage. Felt like the flamethrower made them flinch consistently once I had it upgraded enough though, so maybe its a damage cap.
Overall I'd say weapon balance is better because nobody used more than 2-3 of the weapon roster anyway and it's nice to get so much more mileage out of the flamethrower now, Force Gun, Contact Gun and Plasma Cutter are still good.Pulse rifle never really gave me much trouble but I saved it for precision shots (like shooting the tendril weak spots, etc.).
One thing I did notice is the AI doesn't seem to chase as much as they used to. I remember them going back into the vents and popping out closer more often in the original, but maybe it's no longer needed since they seem faster.
Guardians do seem tankier/more common, but the flamethrower or the rifle grenade kill them fast.
Brutes are still basically just a stasis + kill, the first one didn't even give me trouble on Hard.
Menus do feel a little laggy, but they were kind of laggy in the original too, particularly the save menu and workbench because of the animation.
>Gun balance is significantly worse.
If you believe this, you're a fricking idiot. The Ripper went from a meme dogshit weapon to arguably the best weapon in the game thanks to how ammo efficient it is.
Yeah Ripper's great now. I'd argue its power is still tempered by the hover blade being very close range, and the projectile blades not being hitscan like almost everything else.
Dead Space is probably the only game in existence where I hate every weapon except the plasma cutter (basically, the pistol equivalent). I don't quite understand how they did that. The remake tried to make the other guns a bit more fun/practical, but I'm still using them only out of some misguided obligation, not genuine preference for them. They all feel like shitty "gimmick" weapons.
Flamethrower or force gun are both really nice for crowd control and somehow the ripper is even better than the original. Force gun also fricks guardians easily. Pulse rifle is still mediocre though at least the grenades can help with groups
I finished it and loved it. My only complaints are i wish there was more of a reason to backtrack besides a couple sidequests. Also the shitty ADS minigame in the original is gone and it feels much better here. It also references Downfall and Extraction. That being said 80-85% of the game is the same and unless you’ve never played the original or are a hardcore fan of the series, i’m not sure it’s worth $70. Motive really didn’t do a bad job and i’d like to see them take a crack at an original dead space game
Eckhardt is brought up multiple times in some logs and vincent and weller are brought up too. So it keeps both as canon. The timeline of the ishimura falling is still wonky but we know it did all happen now
Does the ai director only influence backtracking, or the game in general? I haven’t been able to figure out yet. I know for backtracking they can even appear right by a save point because one spawned in the security station on medical
I'm at the start of chapter 3 and so far I don't feel like it's added anything worthwhile but there are a bunch of little things that are worse than the original.
>plasma cutter sounds worse >enemies not staggering feels bad >isaac's walk cycle is worse >game is so fricking dark you can't appreciate the new graphics >the stomp doesn't loop properly(he resets to a neutral stance for a few frames no matter how fast you press it) >straight up tells you in chapter 2 the marker is making the necromorphs which im pretty sure didn't happen in the original
>enemies not staggering feels bad
I prefer it because it makes them more dangerous and they do still stagger it just takes a lot of damage. It makes sense since i highly doubt they feel pain >game is so fricking dark you can't appreciate the new graphics
I’m torn there because i agree you can’t see the shiny new graphics but i think it being so dark is creepy as hell in some areas, especially when all you see are two glowing eyes in the dark
The real issue if you're not mentally ill is not the unisex bathroom in space, it's the moronic sign that displays the pandering ineptitude of the art team. There should only be one symbol or one sequence of words. Instead there's three symbols and they spell it out literally just in case because they were afraid of not getting enough brownie points
Who cares? We're getting to "the brick texture is bad, shit game" levels here.
I loved it, i just wish it would’ve had 4 distinct scenarios like the original and not just a and b being different
What did you love about it? The jump from the RE1 and RE2 into RE3 remakes is the most drastic drop in quality I think I've ever expereinced. Everything is bad.
I played on hardcore and it was much tougher than REmake (at least not on real survivor). It had some nice puzzles like the mixing one, nice mechanics like the boarding up of windows, the zombies were tough unless you chose to dismember them which still left them alive, and i liked how dark it was. Also lickers were much more dangerous than the original 2, Mr X was a gigantic improvement over the shitty hallway obstacle of the original. The original definitely had a better soundtrack and each scenario was unique unlike here. I can completely understand saying the original 2 is better, but saying the remake is bad and improves nothing is just completely wrong. If you’re saying 3 then you may have a point
I was. I meant, the first two REmakes were even better than the already fantastic originals while the third remake on every level fails. As a remake, as a continuation of previous remakes and as a fun game in general.
I didn’t hate RE3R and on it’s own it isn’t an awful game and even improves on a couple areas from the original imo such as the hospital, power plant, enemy variety and nemesis boss fights, but getting rid of content is already bad, then not having nemesis really stalk you at all, not being as gory, having almost no puzzles, having a broken ass final boss on nightmare and inferno, and not having mercenaries is just disappointing. It was a total cash grab
>Also lickers were much more dangerous than the original 2.
?t=121
The only thing that makes lickers dangerous is they make scary sounds which prompts players to think they've aggrod it, so they start running and then the licker actually aggros.
In the original 2 you can unironically just outrun them, they’re much more receptive to sound and faster in the remake. On hardcore i killed maybe 1 or 2
What was your loadout?
I used a plasma cutter and ripper for lone necromorphs. A force gun for groups and guardians, and a flamethrower for groups and pregnants
Callisto is really bad, it’s got barely any plot, isn’t scary at all or even creepy, has some godawful punch out esque combat that auto targets, the gunplay feels like a joke when you can use it, and it’s like 7-8 hours long. The 10% different in this remake is better than the entirety of callisto
Based on this, do you think motive deserves a shot at a all new dead space game? They didn’t royally frick up the remake so there’s that. It’s not quite RE2R level but it’s certainly closer to that than RE3R
IMO it depends on they do with the inevitable multiplayer mode(s) that'll come with 2. You can bet your ass EA is going to force them to milk the shit out of it with new multiplayer gameplay modes and that's where we'll truly see if Motive is up to the task with a true DS3 remake or possible future installments.
Yeah sure, although I doubt that's gonna happen for a while. This is clearly EA's attempt at chasing Capcom's success with REmakes, the question is are we getting 2 next or Extraction? I'd want to see the latter personally.
Start new game plus
Collect marker fragments. There's one in each chapter except 5 has two so you can collect them all before chapter 12 which has none.
Place the fragments in the Captain's quarters on the crew deck. You'll hear an audio confirmation
Complete the game and watch the new ending
Why did they make Hammond so damn irrelevant to the point both Isaac and Kendra pretty much forget he's alive?
You no longer fall into Kendra's gaslighting believing Hammond will eventually betray you because Hammond might as well not be in the game at all.
Of all the story changes, the Nicole hallucinations and the backstory around Isaac's unitology-obsessed mother probably upset me the most.
The game & VA makes it way too fricking obvious that Nicole is a Marker hallucination from the getgo and having Isaac's mother murder his father is a little too overdramatic; having her waste their savings is much more relatable and believable from an audience perspective.
Also didn't like the fact that they completely changed Dr. Mercer's death either. Him becoming a necromorph in the original fit his fanatical nature more.
Other than that, I was fine with everything else.
Frick EA pretending that Dead Space was a tent pole release for them when they constantly attempted to undermine and kill the series at every fricking chance they could.
Frick morons giving EA money when the only reason this even exists is because EA looked at the sales and reception of RE2 Remake and wanted some. Black folk killed the series by driving it into the ground then shuttered the studio that made it for them.
I know you're 12 and didn't play the original game, but the ship the game takes place on is part of a japanese company. it wouldn't have adverts for Black folk everywhere

Yeah you pretty much crushed it. The only thing you missed is that you get an alt colour suit along with the foam finger, it's a black with red visor variant of the legacy suit.

I was afraid to spoil myself, but Google tells me there's actually only three side quests, which is a bit of a bummer, since opening up back tracking is such a neat addition.
That’s my main qualm with the remake is the backtracking isn’t implemented nearly enough, i’d like to have to go back through a level because the tram is down or something? Especially because when you return to areas you don’t know if necromorphs will spawn and sometimes the lighting and everything messes up, they did a great job with the director it just isn’t used enough
I wonder how new side quests, back tracking, and the AI director would affect something as airtight as Dead Space 2. I like these features in 1 but 2 is such a perfectly paced thrill ride that any bloat would drag it down tremendously.
I’m not sure how to even implement backtracking in 2. You’d almost have to have something akin to system shock 1 where it’s also a space station. A remake with backtracking would require almost a total change of level design
I mean they're not short "short." They have multiple sections, flesh out Nicole and Mercer, and require the whole run of the ship to the point I'd argue they're not worth doing sans the Master Clearance quest until you've unlocked every area. So it gives you another 3-4 hours of content or so.
it's extremely good. All the complaining is from schizos who never even played it, or "old good, new bad" types who were never going to like the remake no matter what.
I still don’t understand, is the marker in 1 evil or not? Because it still doesn’t answer the question of why it wanted to seemingly stop the outbreak. REmake did the same shit of not answering who actually survived the mansion. Why do remakes never answer shit?!
I don’t know if it “improved” the story so to say, but it did make it more cohesive with the other games and media like extraction, downfall, and 3. It still doesn’t really explain why the marker seemingly wanted to stop convergence, but the original didn’t either. I wouldn’t say it’s any better or worse
>It still doesn’t really explain why the marker seemingly wanted to stop convergence
I think this has been retconned to the point the Red Marker returning to Aegis VII was it deciding it had enough biomass to start a convergence event. Visceral had no idea that Dead Space was going to have a sequel greenlit, or that Dead Space would become a small media franchise, so the original game never planned that far ahead.
It did improve some things at the cost of ruining other aspects.
On the other hand, the story changes to the marker are pretty interesting; makes me wonder what that implies for the inevitable DS2 remake and potential future installments.
I think, assuming the series continues again, 2 probably would have a similar plot but 3 won’t be the same at all, it will probably be trying to stop the moons from finding earth in the first place and i doubt they’ll use much of the original 3
>ut 3 won’t be the same at all, it will probably be trying to stop the moons from finding earth in the first place and i doubt they’ll use much of the original 3
That's my guess as well. 2 will be more of the same but I won't be surprised if the vast majority of 3 is completely reimagined, or the game is just straight-up retconned out of existence for something entirely new. Regarding narrative and lore, they basically wrote themselves into a corner with 3's ending either way; the only way the franchise was going to continue from that point forward was through prequel titles or spinoffs.
Though the fact that the marker listened to Nicole's commands makes me wonder if they're scrapping the bother moons for something new as well; most of the player base thought they were stupid additions either way.
How do you guys think the RE4R and SH2 remakes will compare to this?
>RE4R
Depends what they do with the infamous Island segment. If it's still in or replaced with something entirely new, then great. If Capcom pulls another RE3 and cuts it out of the game then it's already worse than the original. >SH2R
It's fricking Bloober, it's going to be absolute shit. The trailer alone already indicates they don't know what the frick they're doing with James acting mopey and over-emotional.
I thought the brother moons were a mistake myself overall, i think the markers should’ve been the overall “heads” of the necromorphs. The problem is 2 seems to heavily imply the existence and even harris in this talks about they are hungry and they are coming
I read about impossible difficulty but haven't played it. So you're limited to one save slot with no autosaves and if you die it reverts to hard difficulty essentially ending your attempt at the difficulty. Is there anything to stop players from pausing and loading just before they die or keeping a backup save file on hand?
The original one was bizarre because the dude was missing internal organs and shit, the new one makes more sense assuming it wasn’t a hallucination to begin with
I don't know why you guys are so mad about the remake, it's for people born after the 2000s who were too young when the game came out. Now we can finally play it and see what all the fuss is about. I'm really enjoying it personally especially the universe, I hope they remake Dead Space 2 soon too so I can play it apparently it's even better.
RE4R will be fine, I'll probably nitpick the frick out of it like the bathroom anons.
Zero hope for SH2, that game will get no where near the OG, absolute disaster.
We've already seen how woke/awful the VR port of RE4 was, and how fricking stupid/janky the actual remake is going to be, so there is that. SH2 is going to be awful and they will somehow try and force woke propaganda into it, the actual proper next installment of SH has been leaked to be about a twitter mutt who got offended over the internet, and that's her "horrors" she will have to get over
One thing i like expanded in the remake is explaining why isaac hates unitology so much, since in the original i believe it said his mom was one but that was about it
>cuz the 970 is almost 10 years old, Jesus.
It's been a real workhorse, but it's finally showing its age with the remake. I can't put it off any longer, not with RE4R in the horizon too.
>Auto graphic preset >720p >Enable AMD Fidelity FX
This is one of those rare games where AMD's AI imaging software doesn't shit its pants at every turn. Never once experienced image ghosting, no blown out pixels whenever light hits an object's surface, hair didn't freak out etc. This is one of those games where I can highly recommend AI shit to boost your performance.
I'll give it a try, but I'm not a fan of resolutions lower than 1080p just from how blurry everything looks.

About 4 hours in on deck and not a single crash. Mid settings, fsr balanced, locked 40fps.
Getting a few dips into the 30s but not too bad.
Also, running off of a micro sd and it flat out told me that the game runs better on an ssd because that is how it was designed so the dips could absolutely be from that.
Better then re3 remake
not a high bar
Better then cp better then dead space 3 least it’s actually a real remake
How the frick does it even remotely compare to cp? Nothing beats that.
I'm with you anon, the RE3make hate is a bad meme
Isn't it missing like the entire first hour of the OG game?
Better than 6? definitely, 6 is fricking terrible. Better than 5 and rev? Eh maybe. Better than 7 and 8? No not at all
I see what you did there.
Not worth getting over the original.
Dead Space 2008 is $4.99 on Origin, $19.99 on Steam and free on GoG.
What do you mean, Free on GoG?
Why the frick would you ever pay EA?
https://gog-games.com/
You stupid Black person, you don't post direct links
Oh no, whatever will happen.
Black personhomosexuals like you are gonna use it
Don't forget it being $15 bucks on xbox (og version is what I mean)
It's also on xbox/ea gamepass which you can get for less than that.
I have gamepass, I'm not even giving them the download. Callisto sucked but them releasing this around the same time, after skullfricking the original franchise and the devs to death, is tasteless beyond reason. Frick EA.
>Dead Space 2008 is $4.99 on Origin, $19.99 on Steam and free on GoG.
It's not free on GOG, idiot
Works on my machine
He means that you can pirate it, dumbass. GOG games don't come with DRM, they don't need to be cracked at all.
ohhhhhhh. is that what he meant....
maybe if he worded his sentence differently... then we wouldn't have this misunderstanding , now would we?
Maybe if you weren't out of touch, you would have understood immediately.
maybe if you didn't have a dick up your ass, you wouldn't be such a libtard soi boi
>i didn't get it
>this is your fault
did you also get mad back in the day when people would call you a moron for seeing a panda? or are you too young to know what that is either?
don't forget it's a unoptimized piece of shit that cannot even stick to a consistent 60 fps on a 4090 at 4k
modern devs need to frick off
b-but the shills keep telling me that it's one of the greatest PC ports of all time!
Does Dead Space even have Raytracing? I didn't see an option for it in the settings and I even fricking looked for it.
Yes, it uses ray-traced ambient occlusion and a few other things afaik
Is there a setting for it? I set my shit to ultra and it looks pretty nice. Other than what feels like performance hitches I never had problems.
Its one of the ambient occlusion settings. The highest setting is "RTAO" which is ray tracing
the game is unironically older than most people who browse Ganker. frick off.
>most people who browse Ganker are less than 13 years old
Gonna have to agree with this.
I'll get it once it goes on sale for half price.
lol every game is free on gog
Cringe.
Played both, prefer the original. The new one looks pretty but the voice acting is terrible (other than Isaac himself).
Better than Callisto, better than 3, worse than DS1, DS2, Extraction
DS1 > DS2 > Extraction > DSR > CP > DS Mobile > DS3
>2 above 1
invalid post
didn't say that gay
Alien is a much better movie than Aliens
If you have no taste and love wieners in your mouth.
>Alien is a much better movie than Aliens
Alien is a much different movie than Aliens, I enjoy both, but they're not really much comparable other than the horror of the monster.
>3 last
Consider killing yourself
Let me guess, RE5 is your favorite of that franchise?
Dead Space 3 was good.
You're just an autistic Black person who hates change.
Enjoy your mtx in a paid title, subhuman
> t. Steve Papoutsis
Steve Papoutsis only made the Awakened DLC for 3, not 3 itself.
I didn't say it's perfect but it's still enjoyable. The flotilla section was fantastic.
>Dead Space 3 was good.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>Dead Space 3 was good.
Anon....just because the remake was good, doesn't mean you should defend the worst game in the series. I liked the beginning when Isaac was floating in the ship graveyard but the rest of the game and the story is terrible.
It was dogshit. You have a cover gun fight with humans almost immediately
Yes.
And 5 minutes after that you're in a Necromorph infested flotilla of ghost ships.
Chill out Black person, you'll live longer.
>You can't fight other humans in a horror game... YOU JUST CAN'T OKAY!!!
DS3 is shit but even a shit game is fun in coop.
this is my review
It's a sequel that does nothing better that its predecessor, and many many things worse.
DS3 was mid, but microtransactions lowered it into the sewer.
Best bang for you buck is get DS1 (the original) and Callisto.
thanks glen
you are welcome anon

WHAT THE
moron post.
Probably written by a Brazilian.
We should talk about the video game in this thread, let's spice things up around here.
Go talk about video games somewhere else
Actually good, /misc/tards are just gonna seethe.
shitty, so it’s accurate to the original
and glitchy
The entire remake, for me, just feels like one giant "Eh" moment. I mean sure it looks good I guess, but for the price it's pushing and the content of the game itself, I might as well just buy the original three and that one rails shooter on the Wii and play through those.
I don't feel the desire to praise it, or hate on it. It just feels like it's there. It just feels like... eh.
And since we're on Ganker all the shoehorned in 2020s-isms like the bathrooms and the propaganda posters based on the OG's dev team being mostly blackified also feels like just a big "Eh" considering how often it happens these days.
>just buy the original
Stop giving EA money for access to the girl they kidnapped and raped.
it's a little too saucy
I like the graphics.
I don't care about the ESG tax write offs.
A shame this is being turned into another copypasta since it's got some fairly decent points to it.
I appreciate it because at least it's a pasta about the fricking video game.
It is an attempt to discredit the post, but his points are valid (even if they're a bit autistic)
lmfao owned
Cope idiot. YWNBAW
I don't think calling me a troony works when I'm, at least vaguely, agreeing with disliking the game here.
I don't like you therefore you're a troony
Who the frick cares about all that? If the game is fun the game is fun, why are all you a bunch of nit picking fricks? Just sit out and let us play if you hate it so much.
>no you can't examine the aesthetic value of game, it's not fair quit discussing it
shut up moron
It’s evidently not nit-picking if the remasterer’s themselves wanted to change these things, they clearly thought them important enough to edit.
>If the game is fun the game is fun
Well anon kindof said a bunch of reasons it isn't though didn't he you slack jawed moron?
>Nooooo your anonymous criticism on the internet is literally preventing me from enjoying the remake i shelled out 70 dollars for
>No, I enjoy eating shit. You need to stop pointing it out; it makes me feel bad!!!
based
>hehe its a copypasta you fell for the epic ruse exdee
that anon hit the nail on the head so I couldn't care less
>biggest offender is the new Advanced Soldier RIG, sacrificing an iconic design to chase modern blizzard/marvel trends.
>Butchered the Advanced Soldier RIG aesthetically
The new military RIG looks dumb but don't pretend anyone liked the original.
I did.
I'd rather use the fifth rig (which looks amazing, even compared to the original) at the expense of anything the sixth rig can give me.
Wait, does his helmet not retract into his suit anymore?
nope
its just a helmet now
It was a helmet in the original too, he had to take it off at the end of the game. The retracting helmets we get in DS2 are more advanced than what Isaac had in the first game.
>Neither address the obvious ESG wokeshit
It's a demake
Graphics

-$69.99 for effectively a 2008 game with new coat of paint ($59.99 on Steam)
-Really bad animations in some areas
-New lighting ruins atmosphere
-New sound direction ruins atmosphere
-Butchered the Advanced Soldier RIG aesthetically
-Made by EA (the people who killed Visceral)
_No.
Oh you want some more b***h? I can copypasta that one too.
As much as I hate that these are turned into copypasta for shit posting, they're valid points and actually discuss the video game. The original posters actually played the game, with "nitpicking" anon clearing the game. In the original thread he said it didn't feel right to judge a game unless you play it so he did.
I'm really not understand this consolidated effort by shills to discredit the post.
Because its autistic non valid points that mean absolutely nothing to everyone who has felt vegana. Prepare to see this spammed forever until you shut your fricking mouth and learn your place.
Holy mother of ESL Batman. Which Nairobian village do you hail from, EA shill?
You're posting on this site.
Go away autism
Oh sorry let me review this game in a way you will understand

Ok but seriously why do people write steam reviews like this?
Because they are fricking morons fishing for likes in a sea full of zero attention span 13 year olds.
>both posts praise the gameplay
>somehow Ganker spams these as if they btfo the remake
They're literally saying the game is good, this isn't the win you're looking for contrarians...
It's a remaster anon... Of course the game play will be at least decent or else why would it be made in the first place? The point is whether the remaster is able to justify it's existence when the original exists and it doesn't because the aesthetics are a step in the wrong direction. How can someone not understand such a simple position?
>post starts off with "I don't like it"
>They're literally saying the game is good
EA didn't kill shit.
Glen Schofield sold his baby to them and then got mad that he couldn't get it back.
Yes, yes they did. DS2 made a profit and it wasn't "enough" so they pushed DS3 to be a dude bro shooter over an atmospheric shooter. It still sold well, but not as much as DS2 and public opinion was sullied. EA then took Visceral out back and shot them in the back of the head live they've done so many companies before it
Once again, if a developer willingly gets into bed with the Devil then they shouldn't be surprised when they get fricked.
Stupidity and greed fricked Visceral.
>-New lighting ruins atmosphere
>-New sound direction ruins atmosphere
They actually screeched like that in the original as well, they’ve always sounded moronic
The actual ambient screams they do in the background sound better than the enemy ones, because they're still distinctly human.
>pay premium price to enjoy it on entry level device
Putrid.
I'm just gonna say it.
I prefer Marvel's Taskmaster advanced soldier RIG over Star Wars: The Clone Wars advanced soldier RIG
It's okay to be wrong anon. Maybe you should go play Marvel's Midnight Suns to get your fix.
I actually heard that games is pretty good, but I hate card based systems so I'm on the fence.
You're welcome to your opinion, even if it is wrong.
FRICK that.
hammond was a G, for sure. unironically my only black friend.
its good
It's genuinely good. I do not think it's worth $70 and would encourage other anons to wait for a sale, but it's still excellent as far as remakes go.
Idk. i couldn't even make it through the original. gameplay was too irritating. I picked it up because Ganker was gushing over it and ...
I have since learned to be much more careful about getting things Ganker recommends.
>Remake a game that's barely 15 years old
>Add in a bunch of woke shit for the Twittards that don't buy or play games
>Add in shit that only zoomers who grew up on FN@F could possibly like
The Dead Space remake is just a necromorph using the skin of the original Dead Space as a host.
resident evil was only 6 years old when it was remade for gamecube
REmake was directed by the original director, Shinji Mikami, preserving the original vision and celebrating the game with the fans.
Dead Space Remake is a business decision to make money because in today's market remakes, good or bad, make bank. They're cheap to develop and are extremely popular among the masses. Resident Evil 3 Remake is viewed as one of the worst remakes of all time and it was a commercial success for Capcom. EA also benefited from Calisto Protocol because it showed the market heads that there is a large demand for the IP. Glen's frick up gave EA a silver platter.
>oh noooo they are changing story elements from my already dead franchise
frick off. you probably didn't even play the original
Anyone who played the original and are fans of Dead Space would not support the remake, full stop.
I can't wait for your contract to end, then we can actually have discussions instead of your $15/hour shillposting.
People are complaining BECAUSE they played the original and notice the differences you dingbat.
The difference you see in PSX games and PS3 games is how zoomers see PS3 games and PS5 games, anon.
Welcome to being old.

Who shit in your cereal today or are you on the dev team.
The sheer irony of a company like EA putting out a game with shit in it crying about capitalism
>Play a horror game that's literally about people dying left and right
>HAVE TO HAVE THE TRIGGER WARNING
Who the frick is this made for
It was not made for you, Dead Space fans, or Ganker. It was made for a new audience and you guys really need to fricking accept that.
Video games are a business, you are no longer the audience. You can' even deny this. After Dead Space 3 you all victimized Visceral and universally condemned EA.
There was no way they could continue with the IP and be successful, you know this, I know this, they know this.
When word of the remake came around you all immediately jumped on EA's ass and without any evidence started to speculate that the game was trash and it will be shit. They made a 1:1 game to the original, improvements to the gameplay using DS2's combat, and even added in bonus content to incentivize backtracking and you are all upset because a few posters in the game have a black person instead of a white person. You are unhinged. This is as good as you could get. This is REmake levels of competence shown here. Not RE2make not RE3make but REmake. This game isn't for you Dead Space """"fans"""", this is made for a new audience and those that are actually fans of the series.
You are all blinded by your preconceived notion that anything Dead Space related by EA post DS3 is shit so you refuse to accept the reality that Dead Space remake is one of the most faithful remakes in the gaming industry.
You sure did type up a lot of shit in a minute, leading me to believe this is some poor man's copypasta.
105 WPM, Black person.
>instead of catering to an established, large audience we will cater to an even smaller, more unreasonable audience that doesn't even buy games
>video games are a business
this is terrible business.
Keeps their ESG scores up, which is the only thing that matters to them.
and ESG scores directly inflate stock prices and associated metrics, which often have management bonuses tied to them, as institutional money like pension funds are often hard wired to buy the "social justice".
Also ESG is not just woke, it is all the other new age fads like green bullshittery and "amoral" industries. I love ESG as it is a great time to seek out dividend payers in "filthy" industries like tobacco, alcohol, weapons or oil as they are all dirty and thus tend to have stock prices at their true price level or even just below it
>Dead Space remake is one of the most faithful remakes in the gaming industry
>There was no way they could continue with the IP and be successful, you know this, I know this, they know this.
> you are all upset because a few posters in the game have a black person instead of a white person
So, they knew they were fricked but decided to do something so moronic for fun ? im starting to believe the meme about adding woke shit to get free fund is real.
ESG scores are literally a provable thing.
>This is REmake levels of competence shown here.
Uh, no, ex-Andromeda devs are not as competent as the RE team.
>Who the frick is this made for
Leftists and the dev team only. Like how Saints Row reboot was only made for the dev team. Now the studio that made it got sold off to GearBox.
Oh no no no
Warning on boot vs warning in game
This is there for parents and was also a vastly different time.
This isn't even remotely similar to a pop up in the middle of the game. Why are you so fricking dishonest.
>EA Shills being dishonest
And water is wet
>blood and gore warning
>not the same because uh.... W-WELL BECAUSE, OKAY??!!
troony that was for parents in the 90's/ 2ks who believed videogames were toys for children....but then again leftycuckholds are grown children so I guess it is fitting
They couldnt fire the blue haired woman after their 6 month of meeting to decide who to replace with black people or if the ship really needed helicopter gender bathroom, so they had to fake their work until the very end.
These are gonna have to be on screen 24/7 if the remake is anything like the original considering how broad these warnings are.
Oh never on screen since it's optional and disabled by default.
God damn that's so gay. Like thank you, I was trying to enjoy a horror game but please go ahead and pre-emptively ruin the suspense for the 4 people so far up their own ass they're sitting there playing a horror game and expecting it to tip toe around their imaginary trauma.
Frick EA
It's optional don't moan
>Don't moan
That's at least better but still gay as frick. Same with the bathroom shit like we haven't had unisex bathrooms everywhere since the 60's. Virtue signaling homosexualry.
Family bathrooms are extremely common, I have no idea what you're talking about.
>Family bathrooms are extremely common
Quite my point, ESL.
Why would unisex bathrooms in the future say anything but "bathroom". The sign is there for a single reason, and it's not because it makes sense
Please tell me you can turn this homosexual shit off.
It's off by default
>puts optional setting on that's off by default
>gets mad about it
It shouldn't exist in the first place, I don't care if it's an option, why even include it, I honestly don't get it, if you were going to have a problem with it to begin with why is a little warning in the corner meant to suddenly make it alright, are you meant to look away? Does it warn you every time you shoot a necromorph?
It's just part of all the new accessibility options most games have, I don't know what to tell you.
>I don't know what to tell you.
Tell me why someone would willingly purchase a grotesque horror games about aliens using humans as morphed suits then go into settings to turn on the TW setting?
It's not like it's the first dead space released to not know that it features spooky scenes / events.
I agree it’s pointless but it’s not like it’s on by default and it probably took like 10 min to implement, they probably had an intern do it
My point is, it shouldn't be there in the first place.
I don’t know, it is what it is, just ignore is all i can say since it doesn’t affect us
>just ignore is all i can say since it doesn’t affect us
Yet. Then the player will be asked on first start, then it will be on by default ruining the artistic direction.
>This game only sold 30 mil
Get fricked EA
Really? That is more than Elden Ring.
>That is more than Elden Ring
You're delusional.
He somehow got 30 mil sales from 30k concurrent player on launch.
It realistically probably sold below 1 mil by now and will die when HL releases.
>Black people are the same as trigger warnings.
That explains so much about this board.
Lol have a nice day Tumblrhair.
Did I Black person you, Anon?
are they not? they were both forced into the remake by the developers.
>revealing that you're an outsider
so where are you from?
/s4s/
Remake is good, Ganker is contrarian, nothing else new
>contrarian
who is saying it's good?
What's the best way of playing Dead Space today? The remake? Can I just download the original off Steam and play as it is, or is there any fix I should download too? 4k 120hz screen if it matters
Google mousefix or use a controller, that's pretty much all you need. Vsync your monitor as well, anything over 120hz and the game starts shitting bricks
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Dead_Space
He a gay homie now.
Am I the only one who thinks the Contact Beam is god tier now? It feels so satisfying
It's satisfying as frick. The third upgrade increases the radius of the secondary fires explosion. Combined with the Force guns secondary, it obliterates large packs in a single shot.
NOOOOOO, NOT THE BATHROOM. SAVE ME, Black person MAN.
WOW. Cool down with the racism there chud.
Ok that’s actually a really good response. KCD i’m glad didn’t have modern woke shit because it would’ve made no sense at all, even having a woman pc is pushing it. Dead space is at least in the future and everyone is an insane markerhead
Who's worse, Cliffy or Burch?
I feel like Cliffy has the same bad opinions but is more aggressive with them, while Burch is a literal cuckold.
shouldn't the arm of the man-side be parallel with the torso instead of both being angled diagonally? otherwise they just took the woman stick figure and cut-off half of her dress
Could they really not get anyone's voice actor back except Isaac's? Kyne isn't even the same person anymore.
Experienced voice actors and TV actors charge more for their voice and likeness.
That sucks.
I wasn't sure who the narrator of the Dead Space recap was in 2 but then he referred to Unitology as his 'former religion' and remembered it was him.
They made Isaac black, Kendra gay, Hammond a woman and Nicole a troony
Completely unplayable
Kendra's not gay, she was just making a conversational comparison to mess with Hammond.
Temple's bi now though, if that matters to you, and really it shouldn't.
then why even make him bi in the first place?
It does matter to us that they are shoehorning this fricking shit in everywhere
Anon, you're missing the point here. The implication is the people onboard the ship are part of the LGBTBBQ brigade and they are either transformed into the monsters you have to brutally kill or are brutally killed themselves.
It's representation alright. Representation that shows you're not special and you are still fricked.
Representation is moronic, nobody gives a frick which way you swing. It's for people who base their whole identity around this shit because they're devoid of any other vestige of human personality.
And what kind of message is it sending when these same people are still brutally slaughtered in the game?
Poetic
Fricking game hard crashed my PS5 earlier today when I went into the ps5's menu. Had to turn it off by holding the power button. That said, it's miles better then the RE2 and 3 remakes.
Why do contrarians keep ripping on RE2make? RE2make is why Dead Space remake even exists.
It was half-assed and rushed because the devs wanted a quick buck.
A remake half assed and half rushed? Say it isn't so!
It was made to gauge interest in rebooting the franchise. I hope it sells well enough to get more.
Dead Space is my favorite series.
When do you think the dead space 2 remake will come out?
Depends on how well the Remake sells.
I didn't think RE2 remake was all that bad. If I had it my way though it would have been a fixed camera game like the RE1 remake, but that's just me.
I will agree that RE3 was complete utter dogshit though.
I loved it, i just wish it would’ve had 4 distinct scenarios like the original and not just a and b being different
Not even on fitgirl.
Not playing it.
When do you think fitgirl will port it?
So I'm playing dead space 2008 now and whenever I start aiming the mouse sensitivity just plummets. Is this intended? I already disabled vsync and set a frame cap.
Disable vsync in nvidia, not the game.
Don't disable it, set it to fast.
Just tried
>on in game/ off in nvidida
>off in game/ on in nvidia
>off in game/ fast in nvidia
and I don't see any difference between the 3. Maybe it was fixed in the GOG version.
>title drop
Was in the original too, though not in audio. Speaking of that, doesn't look like they retconned the marker stopping the necromorphs even though they did between 1 and 2, is there any reference to why it works different or did they just copy the story
>is there any reference to why it works different
in the full version of Nicole's message she says that she asked the Marker to "make it stop", and it seems like it decided to grant her request instead of doing Brethren Moon bullshit
> "Over there's a Dead Space Too"
next remaster will ruin this line
>watch several people play the game
>none of them use kinesis for anything
You save so much time bringing shit too you.
>3, the worst game in the series and most least-common-denominator, actually had the greatest need for kinesis looting due to all the spacewalking
You'd have thought the habit would stick. I wonder how many people claiming to "love" the original games actually played the bloody things
Not worth 70 bucks.
Worth 35 bucks.
nothing is worth the money anymore
Fricking kek
i hate zoomers
I don't understand why people are saying this remake is on par with the RE1 remake. Its a $70 game for a game that aged perfectly while RE1 remake was a remake of a game that didn't aged well.
It's a remake that respects most of the original while not adding things that really detract from it.
>while not adding things that really detract from it.
lol
lmao
Im sorry you are autistic
>if you don't like slop you're autistic
You shills are getting desperate
that guy is clearly a millenial
>listen to street shitter
>Black person poster in the LE
>implying anyone wants to hang this on a wall
kek, I would sooner do this with the cringey old condrey one
it's alright. love that Isaac can talk. he had a really funny interaction with Kyne just now, after being dragged for the umpteenth time by a tenticle.
Isaac: FRICK this ship.
Kyne: You're alive? Altman be pr..
Isaac: And frick Altman too.
Kek
I think they handled Isaac perfectly. He feels exactly as he should for character we see in 2 who's sick of the necromorph bullshit. You can feel that Chad rage flowing through him from time to time. Props to them using the same VA too
In 2 he already has had plenty of dealing with them, I think he should be reacting differently now to this new dangerous situation
I think he does. That's what I'm saying, but there's still that same Isaac from 2 in there, especially towards the end.
not worth the price. just buy deadspace original.
>remake
>remaster
>rerelease
>reimagining
>retelling
>reinterpretation
You forgot reboot.
>game name*
Where the checkpoints in the original always so bad?
>Stasis some enemy to run to objective
>hit objective
>then die soon after
>reload checkpoint only to immediately get hit immediately by enemies you earlier stasis'd
Always have a few weird bugs.
i cant afford any games at launch
What did anons that got the secret ending think of it?
It sets up DS2, right? I remember Issac making a marker
I like it, the way all the dialogue changes when you're set down the path is super cool
I think he made it against his will, but we really don't know what that means.
I feel like this is more like a bad ending, rather than the canon one.
Honestly should've been the default ending since it perfectly sets up DS2.
left looks horrifyingly uncanny
It's complete shit, refunded. I don't care about any of the content changes it just is a buggy mess that runs like garbage.
Replayed the trilogy on my Xbox One last year. Very good games, even if the second half of 3 is a snooze (DLC is straight insane though.
I will not buy the demake.
>"And lo, you crushed the heads of Leviathan -he will be meat for those in the wilderness."
WHY DOES ISAAC KEEP TAKING OFF HIS FRICKING HELMET?
because they paid a mocap actor and goddamnit, you are going to see his expensive face
ok bros I have been mainlining upgrades on cutter and first machine gun, the blade launcher and flamethrower seem kinda shit and I dont want to spread my ammo and upgrades until i have a better suit.
is this a smart choice or a tard choice
The Line Cutter looks fantastic.
The line cutter is just a more hungry version of the plasma cutter with a wider projectile. It's pretty niche, since it's only useful against lurkers, or when slashers are lined up for the projectile to get multiple hits. I've personally never had much cause to use it.
Wait, is that the weapon that fires laser traps?
No, that's the survey charge gun, which is very good, but obviously situational. You get better use out of it in DS2 since it was practically made for the stalker encounters.
No, it's the Line Gun. See?
Oh, you meant the line gun's alt fire
>You should only ever carry two weapons to weight the ammo drop tables
This is something that always pisses me off in games. You shouldn't have to "game" the game, if that makes sense.
do suit upgrades carry over when you get a new RIG?
Yes, the upgrades are kept as you go up in RIG tiers. New RIG tiers also expand the upgrade map.
What are some good mods for DS 2008? Has anyone modded in the DLC from the console releases yet?
Get the remake. It's pretty cheap on key resellers.
I already beat it three times and got every achievement, friend. I'm going back to 08 for another run.
Then the next step should be the second game.
Next step is Extraction through Dolphin using the mouse as a Wiimote technically.
>got any good mods for dead sp-
>NOOO DONT PLAY THAT ONE GET THE REMAKE
im officially convinced some of you people are actually unironically paid to advertise here
Good morning, Sherlock.
Apart from suit dlc I think people just did suit/weapon recolours so nothing interesting.
Afaik the only noteworthy thing you can do is fix the horrid mouseaim and inject reshade
Yeah I already got mousefix so I think I'll just grab ULTIMATE vision and call it a day.
why are the shadows fricking trash all max settings?
Isaac no longer being a silent protagonist is just about the only thing the remake has over the original, everything else just feels like change done for the sake of change rather than improving things.
Didn't love it, didn't hate it, it's just kinda there.
Fixed Isaac's face
Unironically better. Ginger isaac with no beard and no blue eyes look ugly
He'll look a lot rougher in 2's remake.
it's a hell of a lot better but he still looks like adam sandler, just with a 'male' filter on now
my favourite weapon in these games has always been the javelin.
Is the scream from the elevator ride in chapter 3 still there?
It's a disaster and keeps getting worse the more people find.
"removing content" like what?
>Look, mom, I posted it again
The most upsetting thing about this for me is that random hologram dude just existing.
Did Dead Space always have Star Wars holograms? Because I swear they didn't before.
Dead Space 2 did.
ANTI's full body hologram is projected from this big clunky terminal on the floor.
>shitty
video game writers are truly in a league with all of history's greatest
>smiling Black folk
The height of horror.
This shit is gay but whoever made and posts this image is just as much of a homosexual
> the wheelchair
damn man being a cripple is now wokeism?
>Your legs don't work? Neither does the rest of you, fricking libtard.
its a trannies wheelchair it has a detachable dilator
woke and gay
Is it just me or is the Air Filtration Tower in Hydroponics skippable?
I'm doing NG+ and I was able to just take the elevator up to the Filtration Tube area without having to go through the tower
God I really can't get behind this new face, and I'm trying to like this game and all it's newness.
>Adam Sandler in Dead Space
>walk through dark corridor
>monster jumps out from vent
>painstakingly shoot its' limbs off before it has a chance to lumber over to you and bite off your head
>repeat for 15 hours
Was it kino?
>painstakingly
>15 hours
It's kino if you aren't shit at video games, what the frick.
what this anon said
Shoot off an arm and a leg and it dies every time.
You aren't shit at video games are you?
I'm tired of pretending 3 was bad
I'm tired of pretending there isn't something between us, Anon.
3 was mid as the kids say.
I'm tired of proving you wrong, so just read the rest of the thread that already blew you the frick out.
The derelict flotilla was kino. The setting, also ok. Weapon crafting, was surprisingly intuitive.
Coop (carver in general), human enemies, aliens, flesh moons was all moronic.
>flesh moons was all moronic.
Flesh moons are unironically great. I love that they at least ended DS3 with a "HUMANITY IS FRICKED" ending, because it's perfect.
forgot to add shitty micro transactions in a single player game, and the worlds worst love triangle.
ultimately the bad far outweighs the good.
3 was trash
>spaceship that has gender neutral bathrooms for their openly gay/bi/transgender crew get brutally murdered and eviscerated or transform into horrific abominations of flesh
What did the Dead Space devs mean by this?
He sees that Chen is dead, realizes he's fricked too and pushes them both into the singularity core to be exploded into a shower of blood.
>original devs get purged from the game posters, communist party style
>replaced by Black folk
>gaslighting at every opportunity when you call it out
>mfw /misc/ was right again
Chill out Trotsky.
>Gun balance is significantly worse.
>The reception of this game tells me very few people understood what was going on under the hood when you started shooting things.
I didn't even know what you're on about with most of the shit in your post. Did download some Venezuelan version of the game?
He didn't even play the game if he thinks gun balance is worse. He's literally LARPing off of some shitty streamer he's watched, because in the OG almost all of the guns were dogshit and you were better off selling the ammo.
>The reception of this game tells me very few people understood what was going on under the hood when you started shooting things.
Because most of the positive reception is probably coming from zoomers and those who missed out on playing the original at release.
The ripper is so stupidly broken, it can even down a brute in 1 blade now
Yeah Ripper's great now. I'd argue its power is still tempered by the hover blade being very close range, and the projectile blades not being hitscan like almost everything else.
>trans friendly ship
>filled with screeching abominations
>"you have to cut their limbs off!"
I see what you did there kojima
Dead Space is probably the only game in existence where I hate every weapon except the plasma cutter (basically, the pistol equivalent). I don't quite understand how they did that. The remake tried to make the other guns a bit more fun/practical, but I'm still using them only out of some misguided obligation, not genuine preference for them. They all feel like shitty "gimmick" weapons.
Flamethrower or force gun are both really nice for crowd control and somehow the ripper is even better than the original. Force gun also fricks guardians easily. Pulse rifle is still mediocre though at least the grenades can help with groups
The Ripper and Force Gun are extremely overpowered in the original game. They do what the Plasma Cutter does, but every limb at once.
They don't have the range though so it's a bit riskier and in some cases impractical because the enemy is hard to reach.
Plasma Cutter + Kinesis claw is the best way to kill 90% of the enemies in the game, but using the Ripper to saw limbs off is the most satisfying.
>It also references Downfall and Extraction.
How?
Eckhardt is brought up multiple times in some logs and vincent and weller are brought up too. So it keeps both as canon. The timeline of the ishimura falling is still wonky but we know it did all happen now
Does the ai director only influence backtracking, or the game in general? I haven’t been able to figure out yet. I know for backtracking they can even appear right by a save point because one spawned in the security station on medical
I'm at the start of chapter 3 and so far I don't feel like it's added anything worthwhile but there are a bunch of little things that are worse than the original.
>plasma cutter sounds worse
>enemies not staggering feels bad
>isaac's walk cycle is worse
>game is so fricking dark you can't appreciate the new graphics
>the stomp doesn't loop properly(he resets to a neutral stance for a few frames no matter how fast you press it)
>straight up tells you in chapter 2 the marker is making the necromorphs which im pretty sure didn't happen in the original
>enemies not staggering feels bad
I prefer it because it makes them more dangerous and they do still stagger it just takes a lot of damage. It makes sense since i highly doubt they feel pain
>game is so fricking dark you can't appreciate the new graphics
I’m torn there because i agree you can’t see the shiny new graphics but i think it being so dark is creepy as hell in some areas, especially when all you see are two glowing eyes in the dark
The all gender bathroom was literally in the original. It's downstairs in the medical wing.
Where does SHODAN go to the bathroom?
ENTERING BATHROOM
THE POLITO FORM IS TAKING A SHIT
The Polito form is dilating, Insect. Are you seething?
Nah.
On hardcore i killed maybe 1 or 2
>We're getting to "the brick texture is bad, shit game" levels here.
is this really your moron take from that? virtue signaling = bad textures?
KYS troony loving scum
>Who cares? We're getting to "the brick texture is bad, shit game" levels here.
DISHONEST troony
There's a unisex bathroom sign and then there's virtue signaling.
Sorry but you're a moronic homosexual.
What was your loadout?
I used a plasma cutter and ripper for lone necromorphs. A force gun for groups and guardians, and a flamethrower for groups and pregnants
You posted mine as well. The Flamethrower is so fricking good in the remake.
Same except I also carried the pulse rifle. Ripper was absolutely beautiful for stunlocking.
Does it have good combat like dead space 2 or is it primitive like dead space 1 or fricking dogshit like dead space 3?
It feels very meaty for lack of a better term, the enemies are pretty hardy like in 3, but the gunplay feels closer to 2
Interesting. I might give this a shot, I skipped callisto because apparently it was all plot no gameplay.
Feels like a combination of all of them at varying times
Based on this, do you think motive deserves a shot at a all new dead space game? They didn’t royally frick up the remake so there’s that. It’s not quite RE2R level but it’s certainly closer to that than RE3R
IMO it depends on they do with the inevitable multiplayer mode(s) that'll come with 2. You can bet your ass EA is going to force them to milk the shit out of it with new multiplayer gameplay modes and that's where we'll truly see if Motive is up to the task with a true DS3 remake or possible future installments.
Was DS2's multplayer good? I played maybe one match and it seemed fine I guess?
Yeah sure, although I doubt that's gonna happen for a while. This is clearly EA's attempt at chasing Capcom's success with REmakes, the question is are we getting 2 next or Extraction? I'd want to see the latter personally.
Well, at least they made the semi-white guy more white.
There's a secret ending?
How do I get the secret ending?
Start new game plus
Collect marker fragments. There's one in each chapter except 5 has two so you can collect them all before chapter 12 which has none.
Place the fragments in the Captain's quarters on the crew deck. You'll hear an audio confirmation
Complete the game and watch the new ending
Thanks.
Can I attempt Impossible mode on NG+?
I didn't get the option to but I beat medium difficulty so maybe if you beat hard you can.
>Start new game plus
Nice game design.
Oh you beat the game? Well... Do it again. Ghouls n Ghosts bullshit.
First survival horror game?
>Flamethrower doesn't work in space still
Why did they make Hammond so damn irrelevant to the point both Isaac and Kendra pretty much forget he's alive?
The same as dead space with less loading screens and jankier necromorph animations
I've been wondering, are you genuinely autistic?
Do you think anyone but you cares about some random Kpop chick?
>r3make was decent and re3 was a steaming pile of dogshit
Nobody's using the Beam.
Woke means its a black person in the ad about vat-grown limb replacement fetuses?
Woke is a codeword for "I'm a freak, pay no attention to me".
Top is still woke, dead space isn’t made by japs
I know you're 12 and didn't play the original game, but the ship the game takes place on is part of a japanese company. it wouldn't have adverts for Black folk everywhere
>dead space isn’t made by japs
> ISHIMURA
> GEEZ I WONDER WHO WOULD BE IN EQUAL QUANTITY ON THE SHIP TO WHITES
if it went from a man to the top you'd be mad at that too
why did they cover her in blackface? that's pretty racist
>watermelonium
Non-homosexual breakdown from what I remember.
>Isaac speaks only when spoken to, and it's often either suggesting fixes to problems explained to him, to Nicole, or the very rare Dead Space 2 "FRICKER" stomp which only happened once for me
>Plasma Cutter nerfed slightly so it's not the God gun
>Every other gun buffed so it's a viable alternative from start to finish
>Foam Finger from Dead Space 2 returns if you complete the game on Impossible
>Terrible asteroid turret section replaced with a mixture of the run-up to the turrets as asteroids pelt the canyon, and controlling the turrets for a few brief shots to calibrate them
>Advanced Suit Lv6 (Military) looks worse. Went from hard industrial with a bit of edge to MCU Taskmaster
>All the alternative cosmetics outside of the Military Suit are Deluxe Edition exclusive (gay)
>Characters that were important to the plot in the 2008 game but basically didn't turn up until Chapter 10 are now introduced much earlier, for better or worse
>Doctor Kyne's accidental killing of the Captain actually looks accidental now
>There aren't actually a lot of side quests, despite this being a touted feature of the remake. I think there were 4-5 in total. Those being Nicole's side quest, Mercer's side quest, the Master Clearance side quest, and I think some others? Can't remember if they were their own or mixed in with these other three
>Everybody pisses their pants over Johnston now being a black woman who survives initial impact with the Ishimura, but she serves zero purpose. She breaks her ankle, stays on your entry ship so you never see her until you go back and then she dies in the explosion
Yeah you pretty much crushed it. The only thing you missed is that you get an alt colour suit along with the foam finger, it's a black with red visor variant of the legacy suit.
dumbass shill homosexuals
I'm sure a shill would say things like
>There aren't a lot of side quests
a dumbass shill would ignore every negative point an example is the point about the efficacy of the weapons in gameplay, and not the lack of impact when shooting said weapons, dumbass shill
>about the efficacy of the weapons in gameplay
You mean how every weapon is factually better than in the original except for the Plasma Cutter which was nerfed slightly but is still really good? Now type like an actual person and not a bot.
>better than the original
bullshit, they also feel like shit. An example of a weapon that is terrible is the pulse rifle which is a fricking pea shooter
pulse Rifle does the same amount of damage. it just doesn't stunlock enemies anymore with bodyshots. so sounds like a [skill issue] to me because you can't shoot limbs.
what happened to all the weapons being better? moron, and your plasma cutter is shit too LMAO
Learn to shoot legs. Plasma Cutter still GOAT.
play the original, remember what a good game feels like, the remake guns are floaty no impact shit, moron.
Weird how people keep bouncing between "the remake plays the same, no point in buying it" and "remake plays worse."
>the remake plays the same
no taste losers like you say that, people need to recognize this inferior product made by corporate gay drones, c**t
Cool it, Ahmin Yashed.
cope it, Shillard Goldstein
>and not the lack of impact when shooting said weapons
felt plenty impactful to me. not really interested in an argument about "feel." go "feel" your dad's wiener slip up your ass, homosexual.
frick you shill, fricking prostitute
Muslim or Hispanic confirmed, only either of those groups think these sorts of insults make you sound like anything but a raging gaylord.
you are a corporate prostitute, you get fricked by EA dildo frick machines for pennies, SHILL
Hahahaha, one kebab please.
>shilling for EA
>y-your ahmed
No im not some c**t put on the posters in these soulless mess, you shilling subhumans
Calm down Ahmed, put your turban back on.
>pretend to be slightly critical in order to hide being a shill
that's exactly what a shill would do
I was afraid to spoil myself, but Google tells me there's actually only three side quests, which is a bit of a bummer, since opening up back tracking is such a neat addition.
A Dead Space 2 remake really needs to open up the Sprawl and let you explore parts of the station or even just stores that aren't part of the mission.
I mean they're not short "short." They have multiple sections, flesh out Nicole and Mercer, and require the whole run of the ship to the point I'd argue they're not worth doing sans the Master Clearance quest until you've unlocked every area. So it gives you another 3-4 hours of content or so.
Looks great, runs like shit.
it's extremely good.
Allow JC to explain
what did they mean by this
I don’t know if it “improved” the story so to say, but it did make it more cohesive with the other games and media like extraction, downfall, and 3.
Island is confirmed in the game, seethers btfo'd.
Good, hopefully they improve it - the lab segments were great but the outdoor segments were generic action shlock; not scary at all.
I read about impossible difficulty but haven't played it. So you're limited to one save slot with no autosaves and if you die it reverts to hard difficulty essentially ending your attempt at the difficulty. Is there anything to stop players from pausing and loading just before they die or keeping a backup save file on hand?
The original one was bizarre because the dude was missing internal organs and shit, the new one makes more sense assuming it wasn’t a hallucination to begin with
animated
b***h literally turned into Martha Stewart.
I’d rather have a new game, plot wise 1 probably needed to be remade for some retcons but 2 doesn’t need it at all
>see guardian
>equip flamethrower
>flame wall
>ARGFHHHHHHHHHFGEDFGSWHHHHHHH
I LOVE this
>Black person gets burned alive
>afro stays
dark humor, or some sort of diversity quota? you decide!
The dude's afro is red. How the frick did Carrot Top live until the 2300's?
All aboard the ESG Ishimura
There is nothing more ironic than an EA title complaining about MUH CAPITALISM!!
How do you guys think the RE4R and SH2 remakes will compare to this?
RE4R will be fine, I'll probably nitpick the frick out of it like the bathroom anons.
Zero hope for SH2, that game will get no where near the OG, absolute disaster.
We've already seen how woke/awful the VR port of RE4 was, and how fricking stupid/janky the actual remake is going to be, so there is that. SH2 is going to be awful and they will somehow try and force woke propaganda into it, the actual proper next installment of SH has been leaked to be about a twitter mutt who got offended over the internet, and that's her "horrors" she will have to get over
One thing i like expanded in the remake is explaining why isaac hates unitology so much, since in the original i believe it said his mom was one but that was about it
There, fixed
>try playing on a GTX 970
>consistent 24 fps on low
Should I get an RTX 3060 ti or a 3070 for the remake? I'll probably turn off raytracing just for higher fps.
You should get one cuz the 970 is almost 10 years old, Jesus.
>You should get one
One what?
>cuz the 970 is almost 10 years old, Jesus.
It's been a real workhorse, but it's finally showing its age with the remake. I can't put it off any longer, not with RE4R in the horizon too.
I'll give it a try, but I'm not a fan of resolutions lower than 1080p just from how blurry everything looks.
3070 probably, the 70s are what I usually get anyway.
>Auto graphic preset
>720p
>Enable AMD Fidelity FX
This is one of those rare games where AMD's AI imaging software doesn't shit its pants at every turn. Never once experienced image ghosting, no blown out pixels whenever light hits an object's surface, hair didn't freak out etc. This is one of those games where I can highly recommend AI shit to boost your performance.
Here's an image of my game just to show you how well this game's FidelityFX handles lighting.
If this was Red Dead Redemption 2, the game's ass would be falling out with blown out yellow pixels everywhere from the light source.
Why would there be a pile of corpses left lieing around anyway? Wouldn't they all get morphed?
its more of a visual gag, 'look what science can do' ad and there's a pile of skinned mutilated bodies under the
>How's the dead space remake?
The original Steam version of Dead Space has been sitting untouched in my library for 12 years.
dead space was always overrated
literally stomp simulator, if you want spooky play silent hill.
Who cares? Game's been out on PC for like 15 years
but not with the all gender bathroom and showers
>Necromorph skin has Isaac take his whole head off when he removes his helmet
kek
About 4 hours in on deck and not a single crash. Mid settings, fsr balanced, locked 40fps.
Getting a few dips into the 30s but not too bad.
Also, running off of a micro sd and it flat out told me that the game runs better on an ssd because that is how it was designed so the dips could absolutely be from that.
