What's your secret to be more productive?

I'm probably talking into a void but here's some tricks.

I got a program that lets me track the amount of time that I spend browsing the internet and playing videogames. When I see that amount of time as a very high percentage, it makes me realize how much I could get done if I used that time to work on my stuff instead. It's very motivating.

Most of the time if you look at your code and are repulsed away from it like a magnet, it's probably because you haven't defined your objective clearly enough. When that happens, I unironically stop using the computer, go lay in bed, and start thinking about what I need to do. After thinking about it for a bit and defining step-by-step how to build things and what needs to happen, I get a strong urge to just do it.

Sometimes if I'm very demotivated and mentally exhausted, I actually go to sleep even if it's the middle of the day. I may wake up in the middle of the night, but at some point I realized that I'd much rather do things at the middle of the night than browse internet every day just because I'm too tired. Sometimes I intentionally flip my sleep schedule, so I wake up at night, work on my stuff, go wageslave, and then go to sleep immediately after I get back from work. I'd rather use most of my energy for my own stuff than for some wageslave job.

I’ve been focusing on Game Builder Garage, its limitations help me understand concepts on a deeper level, nothing like coming up with a solution on your own.

Stagnating, mostly because I wanted to focus on building some kind of following first through art, but even that is going relatively slow.

I just can't be arsed to do it anymore. There are people asking what happened to my game on the forums and I just can't be arsed actually. I'll go buy some beers today and watch UFC

    >work with m8 on game
    >writing hundreds of lines of code a day
    >he still hasn't done a single art asset
    >this project will inevitably fall over because the codes all there but nothing else is
Frick I wish I could do 3D models

Just do what all the cool indie devs do, Anon. Make terrible art assets and call your game "artistic".

I tried making a game in Unity, but with no success. I tried to make a crappy flappy bird clone, but when i coded the jump , the bird jumped infinitely like there's no gravity; so i watched some tutorial about it, i copy/paste the code they were writing but it didn't work. I was so frustrated i couldn't do something so simple i just gave up. Maybe coding isn't for me 🙁

finally caved and made a discord. figured it would be useful to have a place where people could share feedback and suggestions and let us know about bugs

    It's not.
But the more time my ideas spend in defrosting the more I'm thinking I'm in way over my head with regards to what I want to do gameplaywise. No idea how I'm gonna implement that shit, then again perhaps when I get around to programming it's actually easy.

How do you guys write stories? I wrote them down in OneNote but it’s all over the place.

I myself need an answer to this, but I just started with something very basic about my game and from there I'm letting ideas pop up occasionally which I then write down, but I don't actively devote much time to it atm so it's a lengthy process.
I think if you don't have a specific idea for a story burning inside you'll just have to let it sprout on its own a bit. But I'm the least experient person in this thread so don't listen to me.

I just keep a general idea of the story in my head and write the details in my phone. Any interesting concepts I churn out of my head I write down on my phone. After I have enough ideas I try to make a story out if and write it down in a book
