*Huff huff* Wow, that was a tough battle! I'm really working up a sweat yelling from back over here. Yup, it was all thanks to me that we won. These creatures wouldn't have the natural instincts to win a battle on their own!

yeah they're pretty dumb on their own
Lol, they’re fricking morons and would be nothing without humans cultivating their talents
Strawman? That's an odd name for a pokemon
i mean, we all would have better reaction to our surroundings if we can see ourselves in third person, ash is basically doing that to his pokemon giving them a chance to expect any attack from behind and a second brain to coordinate the perfect counter
Humans are fricking senseless in the Pokemon series. It's why I prefer the Mystery Dungeon games. But then normies complain it's too furry. However, furry would imply a human x anthro relationship. So technically a game with trainers is more furry than a game with only Pokemon.
>furry would imply a human x anthro relationship
no it wouldn't.
Yes? Otherwise it's just normal. Or is dog x dog considered furry now?
yes?? furry sex involves at least one furry having sex, whether the partner is human or another furry doesn't matter
Yeah, animals with human-like qualities have always been what furry is
Write your own battle dialog with templates:
>[Now/quick/go], [Pokemon] use [move] on [Pokemon], [now/quick/go]!
>Dodge!
>repeat for a minute
I'm not saying the Japanese dub has any more variety (I assume it's them shouting ike instead) but the English dub doesn't help.
He is truly the best, like no one ever was.
Crazy lityerally seeing a series lose soul frame by frame
Have you ever played Pokemon? Wild Pokemon choose their moves at random. They'll use moves you're immune to. So yes, without a trainer these creatures WOULDN'T have the natural instincts to win a battle on their own.
It was us humans the ones who tamed wolves and felines. Without our intervention they would be either extinct or eating their own shit.
A dog wouldn't be able to do anything but eat its own shit without proper training, just like you.
I know this is bait and OP is just a raging homosexual troony who refuses to stop slurping on wieners. But I'll answer this anyways.
The role of a Pokemon trainer is equivalent to a sports coach. They train and drill the Pokemon and ensure that they're healthy and ready to compete.
Then when the match begins the trainer is expected to have a strategy ready for all six of their Pokemon and be able to adjust it in real time.
The Pokemon obviously can't have the full picture while on the battlefield and that's where they benefit from having a trainer giving commands. Since the trainer can see the entire field they can be aware of things that are outside of the Pokemon's central field of vision. A Pokemon is essentially performing constant trust falls throughout a battle constantly having to trust the idea that their trainer will make the right call and see danger ahead of time since they will usually only have a split-second to react. This is also why they say the "Dodge it" line that is often mocked by people who don't actually watch the series. A Pokemon won't dodge something their trainer doesn't tell them to dodge because they are trusting their trainer to see what they can't.
This is why they keep hammering home the point that Trainers have to build trust with their Pokemon and is also why Pokemon become disobedient if they don't believe their trainer is capable. A Pokemon that believes in their trainer will obey every order to the letter because they trust them to look out for them. Meanwhile a Pokemon that doesn't trust their trainer will probably decide that they can battle better on their own or may just straight up refuse to battle at all because why should they get hurt because their dumbass trainer can't battle right. (1/2)
Battling as a Pokemon Trainer requires a lot of mental tenacity. A full 6v6 battle lasts approximately an hour. Which is a full hour you need to spend focusing on the battlefield and making split-second decisions. Knowing that if you frick up too hard too many times your Pokemon may lose faith in you and stop listening to you or in the worst case scenario straight up leave their Pokeball and return to the wild. It's happened.
The Pokemon arguably have the easy job, they just gotta clear their head and do what their trainer says and if they frick up then the trainer takes the blame.(2/2)
>A full 6v6 battle lasts approximately an hour.
I guess that makes sense why only E4, Elite trainers and the Champions use 6 mons
Exactly. Most trainers have actual jobs and only battle as a hobby. So they're not gonna spend the money to feed 6 extra mouths nor invest the time to have an hour long magic animal fight when they probably have more important shit to do.
The real answer is simply that Pokémon are just magical dogs. Their creator pretty much spelled it out in his biography. Just like dogs some people just keep them as pets and in the Pokémon universe some people train them for battle just like people train dogs for contests or jobs in the real world.
source on the biography?
preferably one that isn't flipped
Dude, telling your pogeymonz to dodge is tough work.
ash's heracross should have beaten darkrai
>Brings Sleep Talk Heracross against a Darkrai
>Uses it correctly and hits him with a Mega Horn
>252+ Atk Choice Band Heracross Megahorn vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Darkrai: 684-806 (243.4 - 286.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Should have annihilated the Darkrai.
Have you seen videos of animals fighting? They will do the dumbest shit or stand still for ages waiting for the other guy to move.
I mean yeah the Pokemon have to be told which attacks to use. Frankly it's a miracle that evolution carried them that far.
SOMETIMES IT'S HARD TO KNOW
WHICH WAY YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO GO
BUT DEEP INSIDE
YOU KNOW YOU'RE STONG
IF YOU FOLLOW YOUR HEART
YOU CAN'T BE WRONG
bruh
IT'S A BATTLE
WIN OR LOSE
Yeah, pokemon are terribly stupid on their own and would certainly lose when against something that could frick them up (would it not act moronic too).
Same I'm all tired from starring hard at their backs!
They wouldn't have harnessed their full potential without him.
stress is a thing anon
you'll learn it after you hit puberty dont worry
