People are still busy playing it.
It has level scaling that I'm not very fond of, even though it doesn't make the game shit, if I was aware of just how agressive the scaling was, I would have reconsidered buying it. Something to keep in mind if you plan on buying.
Reminds me a little of Oblivion, but you can't permanently frick yourself like in Oblivion.
It's something like this: you start out as killing regular enemies in like 2-3 hits. As you level up, you will notice that it starst to take you 4-6 hits now to kill the exact same enemies because the game scales them with you. But you haven't been lucky enough to find good gear or legendaries, or you didn't make a build that is good enough. If you happen to find good legendaries that complements your build, you suddenly have a burst of power and now you can 2-3 shot those enemies again. But the game will eventually catch up with you, so if you fail to improve your gear, or mess up your build, you will start feeling like you do no damage again.
It's not actually that bad, it isn't too different to what happens in games with no level scaling if you think about it, but it is more jarring here, because it applies this on enemies everywhere you go. You can't go back to starting zones and roflstomp the level 1-2 enemies, because they will be scaled up to you as well.

That's not the worst problem I have with the game. I'm lvl 42 now and there's nothing left for me to farm. All the legendary aspects for barbarian are boring as frick. The only one that makes for fun gameplay is the one that makes enemies explode when you kick them. The rest might as well be found in blue items.
1 to 4 fury per second while berserking?
23% chance to extend berserking for 1 second while using a core skill
Ya bro we tried to warn you after the beta test periods. The game is shallow and boring as frick. It's seriously baby's first ARPG and it plays more like an MMO. There is nothing interesting to explore, just get on the hamster wheel of grinding the same frickin dungeons that you were clearing at level 10.
I don't really know what people mean by saying it's "shallow", when even the comment you reply to explains that it has full of weirdly worded multiple layers of rng horseshit, that is needlessly complicated, and at first and even the third read they don't make much sense or feel strong at all, to figure out so you can make a strongish build.
I'd say the stats on items are needlessly convoluted but at the same time boring and not very impactful. Thats why neither minmaxing nor theorycrafting are particularly fun in this game.
People having issues with scaling probably are too prideful to go down a world tier. Unless they are already on the lowest. In which case all I can do is laugh at them.
>Sounds like it is time to make a new character.
I'm afraid all the others will turn out equally boring. Besides, all the enemies are boring to fight too.
They don't want Barbs to break the game because they literally gave them more items than any other class. Their scaling is completely fricking crazy at 100. It's why you see Barbs doing 10 mil dmg per sec against uber Lilith. Blizzard is nerfing the frick out of them but they can't seem to keep up. Before long it will be one of the shittier classes to play like D3 barbs which are basically just buff b***hes for group rifts.
>I'm bored and I've got $70
I had a blast and i mean a blast for the whole campaign which was 33 hours for me.
Im not that interested in the endgame yet, once they add more shit im sure it will be fun.
But for the campaing it was great, i was checking items and skills and the visuals were fantastic and i was engaged for the whole ride.
>$70+paid battle passes >pay2win race event >boring, predictable story >no Diablo fight >enemy level scaling >same boring skills >same boring BIG NUMBER GOOD loot that has no impact on your "build" >everything is an attack, including spells >world events, mounts, and other gay MMO shit >linear dungeons >escort missions >skill cooldowns everywhere >no crafting >no trading >game is poorly optimized despite being a AAA title >movie-game cutscenes everywhere >forced online >troony devs >KFC items >no ladder at launch >boring end game repeating the same dungeons/enemies
Yep it's truly a game made for console babbies and mobilegays. It's astounding that these brainlets will continue to eat up this dog shit, especially after Diablo Immortal. Sad!

can you explain what diablo 2's endgame was? i played ressurrected and it seemed like all there was to do after the main story on normal was....play the story again but harder. no thank you.
Basically the economy and creating wacky builds. The latter was what I loved about it despite the problems.
so i have to play online? makes sense
Higher difficulty tiers provide more of a challenge which is very welcome if you actually enjoy the gameplay. Higher levels enable builds that would be impossible on lower difficulties. Hydra requires level 30 iirc and sometimes you kill baal even at level 29, so you gotta get into the higher difficulty if you want to play around with your new toys.
Higher difficulties also bring new challenges to overcome like resistance penalties and immune enemies. New items drop at higher levels which allow you to further fine tune and customise your character.
tl;dr: it's more of the good stuff you've been enjoying up to that point. If you're one of those freaks that plays games for their story I suggest you pick up a book or kill you'reself
the gameplay is cool but i really dont like acts 3 - 5. especially act 3
>i really dont like acts 3 - 5. especially act 3
I feel like I am the single lone player of diablo 2 that loved the jungle. Everything from the overgrown river, the Indiana Jones temple locations to the Dungeon of hatred.
4 is meh again and act 5 is fun again too.
Try playing online, people will speed run you through the acts, giving you way points and skipping everything you don't need. You can rush to level 60 and start act 1 hell in 4 to 5 hours while online. At least you could 15 years ago during the games original run.
>so i have to play online? makes sense
nah you could play offline
but in 20 years you'd be lucky to find one or 2 gg items so mostly just the regular rare uniques would be your trophies
also some mods have added more endgame, like path of diablo with the act 5 altar, good stuff

No I'm referring to Diablo 2. There are new enemies every difficulty. They're "reskinned" I guess but they have different, harder and new affixes every difficulty. Nightmare is dramatically different than normal and Hell is different than nightmare

Blizzard's greed knows no bounds, it's actually pretty disgusting when you break it down like that. It's just very sad what they've done to Diablo. I never really fricked with StarCraft or WoW. Diablo 1&2 were always my fave games growing up. Dropped them with D3 and the pay2win RMAH. Frick them and their boring games.
Bro if you don't know about their big homosexual statue that they're engraving names on then idk what to tell you. The paid early access is p2w regarding that.
I personally don't give a frick about it, but yes, you answered your own question. Paying for a headstart in a race is unethical.

No, because that's not the same thing. Any other moronic questions? You seem to have a lot of them. I don't get why you're defending scummy pay2win monetization.
>On day 3 streamers that had "early full access" exploited an exp bug to get paragon 100. They keep the exp, no action taken.
Please dont be a person who cares about this
So what you're saying is if I don't care about shitty MTX cosmetics (which look worse than what you get in game anyway) then the game is just a standard priced game?
I'm sitting at level 72, and I just don't feel like playing anymore.
It's just so samey and repetitive, and I mean that in the most literal sense.
You fight the exact same enemies and bosses from level 1 all the way up to 100, just scaled up, and upon reaching level 30 you keep finding the same 5 legendaries and 3 uniques over and over and over and over again.
I finished my build at around level 50, and ever since I did literally nothing has changed. There's nothing left to look forward to.
>You fight the exact same enemies and bosses from level 1 all the way up to 100
This is my 2nd biggest issue with the game. All the enemies are palette swaps of each other. A giant snake does the exact same slam attack as a big goat monster with a club and a fallen shaman resurrecting other goblins is functionally identical to a human cultist of lilith.
The very similar area design between regions doesn't provide anything memorable either. Everything looks like a vague mountainous area, even the swamp and the desert.
The endgame is small, very, very repetitive and unrewarding.
Due to level scaling, the difficulty never really moves; it’s constantly at this unengaging, lukewarm level.
It’s certainly not worth $70 but if you got nothing else to do and a high tolerance for grinding, go for it.
Hilarious that people knock PoE for being grindy, having a massive skill tree, and having purchasable MTX when Blizzard goes and does all of that but way worse in D4.
At least in PoE I have the freedom to play what I want. I can do a bow build with the big warrior guy, or a 2-hand melee build with the little girl spellcaster. And there are build-enabling items. D4 items are boring as frick, just 4-6 situational damage mods to make your BIG DAMAGE NUMBER go up. Why would I ever want to play this game when the loot is rotten at the core? It's a game about killing shit and finding shit but I don't feel compelled to do anything cuz it's all so boring and shallow. moronic design. Bravo, Blizzard!
I'm surprised that nobody is talking about the absolute brutal industry-wide mogging this game does for video game cgi.
Whoever works at blizzard's cinematic team is so far ahead of everyone else and it's not even close.
It's just a pity the actual game looks like fog and lacks contrast.
The colour is right now, but the contrast hasn't been compensated to make things visible.
It looks like trail dust.
Even then, Diablo I/II had heaps of colour. It's all about how it's implemented.
But more importantly it had better contrast.
Why would you ever watch someone play Diablo? I understand watching people play games when there’s an element of skill involved, but pure grind games like Diablo that don’t even have the excuse of crafting and build autism like PoE? Legit do not get it.
PoE is for genre enthusiasts and has been designed for them first with over a decade of mechanics layered on top of itself
i guess you can muddle your way through the campaign without pre-knowledge but after that good luck
The problem with PoE, and it's a big problem, is that getting into it as a new player is extremely hard.
It has THE WORST leveling experience of any ARPG by a wide margin.
You pretty much MUST follow video tutorials and do what's called a "league start" build, download a ton of third party tools (because the game doesn't have these basic QoL things built into it, such as a proper character planner).
Also pro tip: You can set your tabs to have an Affinity under their settings (click the little wheel icon), this will make the assorted jolly ranchers and bits of string fly into that tab.
It's a good way to bank all your currency shit before you inevitably buy currency stash tabs (buy these on sale, don't buy any until you know you like the game). You used to be able to get a number of them for free but I don't remember how.
People are still busy playing it.
It has level scaling that I'm not very fond of, even though it doesn't make the game shit, if I was aware of just how agressive the scaling was, I would have reconsidered buying it. Something to keep in mind if you plan on buying.
Thanks for the info anon. How aggressive is it? Are we talking the usual modern RPG shit or something more intense like Oblivion?
Reminds me a little of Oblivion, but you can't permanently frick yourself like in Oblivion.

Its more like elder scrolls online where you're constantly getting weaker and weak for your first 1-50. Its really rough from 30 to 50.

Ya bro
While standing still you have a 35% lucky hit chance to stun enemies who are bleeding while you are berserking.
After 25 weapon swaps your next ultimate skill will overpower for double your fortify if all your weapon skills are on cooldown.
Sounds like it is time to make a new character.
People having issues with scaling probably are too prideful to go down a world tier. Unless they are already on the lowest. In which case all I can do is laugh at them.
Not even related to that anons post.
>Sounds like it is time to make a new character.
I'm afraid all the others will turn out equally boring. Besides, all the enemies are boring to fight too.
I played necro during the betas and you couldn't pay me to play this shit again. ARPGs are supposed to be fun not boring and shitty.

Blizzard nerfed 2 Barbs aspects last week. Season 1 starts next month as well.. wonder how they'll frick it up
do a flip
pirate Last Epoch instead
How exactly do you pirate an early access online game, anon?

can you explain what diablo 2's endgame was? i played ressurrected and it seemed like all there was to do after the main story on normal was....play the story again but harder. no thank you.
Diablo 2 end game was the Economy and Trading. SoJ trading for the GG 0.1% 'Trophy' items.
Items actually had value. The same as PoE.

In D4? shit no, you'll be fighting the same enemies over and over and over again. Occasionally The Butcher might show up
the butcher can show up even in world tier 1
I killed the butcher lvl18 tier 2 because he got stuck and couldn't fit his ass through a door lmao

Yes but be warned, the tutorial is kind of long. It ends when you finish off Kitava which takes a while to get to.
PoE is for genre enthusiasts and has been designed for them first with over a decade of mechanics layered on top of itself
i guess you can muddle your way through the campaign without pre-knowledge but after that good luck
No. PoE is for hardcore ARPG autists. You'll quit as soon as you open the passives screen.
Misclicked. Meant for
Ahhh yes the classic
>hey guys why am I so weak can anyone help me
>did you press P yet?
gag. I love global1
Might as well pick up a dead chink mmo and you'll still have more fun.
