Extinction is bad with too much random jutting geometry and pockets of nothing. There's legitimate dead-ends that serve no purpose and feel like stubbing your toe ingame, it breaks up the flow horribly. I also think the colors are too saturated.
Shark Bay is pretty good because it keeps things simple. I'm don't care for the distracting animal shit (Mercenary Park wasn't any better because it had crocodiles) but layout-wise the map is fine. I played the TF2 Classic version however so the main map may be very different.
