I'm doing that, just beat the snowboarding level with THAT song. Is the remaster that bad, PCSX2 keeps disconnecting my controller so I have to use the keyboard.
I don't know about Klonoa 2, but I played the original Klonoa and my feelings were somewhere between bored and confused. The game doesn't handhold you and sure, that's fine, but the very nature of the game makes progress more confusing than it should be. One simple step in a direction can cause a shift in the camera leading you to missing something important. And that sucks. The slippery controls don't exactly help either.
The camera in the remake is a lot more "loose" and jerky compared to the original game. Whereas in the original game it was deliberately made to dolly and do all sorts of stuff smoothly.
How is emulating klonoa 2?
Played though 1 fine but apparently PS2 emulation is still super shit, is it good enough or is it worth it to get a cheap ps3 and hack it to play this + other ps3 stuff?
The nightly builds run the game fine, it no longer has the issue of not playing audio, only has minor visual bugs like thin lines on the right of the HUD elements.
They were both favorably reviewed for their time. Critics praised the graphics, character design, and difficulty scaling for both of them. The only real criticism either had was the short length.
They simply haven't aged well is all, but that's expected given they're two and a half decades old.
Honestly this game is niche as 2.5D platforming isn't exactly a mega seller, that said, I'm amazed that Bamco didn't even try promoting this game, to the point that major reviewer sites still haven't reviewed it
Since at least so far some levels you have to go to twice, do you ever go back to this one? This is my favorite one in this game so far, second favorite in these two games behind 6-1 in the first one.
most of the beloved ps1 and 2 platformers really aren't that good by modern standards and are getting exposed by these remakes like spyro or battle for bikini bottom
crash is the only one that's still fun tbh
>Imagine not playing through an emulator first before buying it
LMAO!

My statement was based on having played PS1 Klonoa-only. If you're saying the remakes camera is even worse then oh boy that must be a real shitshow.

Oh damn the game is really starting to get serious now, is it like Kirby or something where the last part of the game is batshit insane?
Klonoa games always get darker and more surreal towards the end.
I love the forgotten path.
the ending is kino, go play it
huh, i prefer how that level looks in the remake
how the frick do you only have 5 lives at this point?
yeah, point to the remaster
Yeah, I tried it on an emulator not too long ago, too simplistic and repetitive.
I'm sure it's fricking fantastic if you played it when you were 10.
Eh second game is worse when you have to chase the cat thing twice.

This is just kirby
>This is just kirby
Kirby but worse. Fricking hate how short range Klonoa's grab is. The very first Kirby game is more enjoyable than Klonoa.
If you're playing the trash remake you deserve the shitty botched grab.
The only Klonoa I've ever played is the PS1 original.

Well, I mean LittleBigPlanet did pretty well, though I guess that had more to do with the level creator.
Maze of Memories is amazing. Up there with Ishra's Ark and Hyuponia for level design and music.
Good taste, Maze of Memories is definitely one of the high points of that game.

play the superior ps1 platformer
Better yet, play Bug and Bug Too for the Saturn
SO, YOU WANT A WISH, DO YA?!
we told you only gay furries liked this game and only for gay furry reasons
You have to have an expansion fetish to really stay engaged in Klonoa
