Elden Ring does not reward gitting gud. Or at least, it doesn't feel satisfying to succeed as such. Encounter balance is basically nonexistant. You're either stomping or getting stomped with no in-between. Therefore, when you beat a boss (or at least most of them), there's little feeling of excitement for having conquered a tough challenge. The two feelings I tended to experience upon beating a boss were either "thank frick I never have to do that again" or "wow, who knew winning could be so boring?"
I remember when Miyahacki claimed his playstyle revolved around a low VIG build that recklessly traded blows. Even though that's basically fricking impossible. Doubt he even knows what half the enemies do in ER.
what a lying gay. you can't even trade hits with 60 VGR against Radagon. half the time he'll just stunlock you to death if you don't die after the first hit.
Exactly this. There is no middle ground. You beat a boss and then "thank God that's over with." The reason why I liked the Astel, Ancestor Spirit and falling star beast fights, they were less spastic reflex twitch bullshit and closer to DkS1 and 2. Mimic year too for being unique.
You're claiming he cheating himself for not turning the game into a death simulator. The majority of enemies in the game are designed for summons. That's why its symbol appears in unfair areas and other areas it doesn't.
But he is good if you uses the tool in the game to beat the fight?
How is it any way different using a gimmick defeating a boss than using a spell or daggers?
i didnt use mimic tear because my build isnt super tanky or strong, i use the blackflame monk

Is this some kind of new cope summon users are pushing? Yeah maybe if you use jellyfish it's more a hindrance but most of the good summons will completely neuter her just like any other boss. Not just Tiche and Mimic, but also general heavy hitters like Rollo or stagger lock capable multi summons like various Knights. Your only concern is waterfowl but with everything else taken care of you have no reason not to have frost pots at the ready.
Malenia is extremely easy to kill with a +10 mimic tear and dual +10 ultra weapons, which you should have at that stage of the game, because you can basically hitstun her to death while dealing massive damage.
Soloing her with a shield and sword, blocking all her moves and doing that convoluted rotating around her to avoid Waterfoul damage is basically a challenge run.
I figured it out in 15 minutes. Just try rolling in different directions until you get the right combination. She does it pretty early in the fight anyways.

NTA, it's not impossible to dodge, but Malenia is one of the shittiest bosses to learn anything on in the series. 60 vigor be damned, you'll get two learning opportunities per fight because until you manage to sprint away from her (to heal) she's in full blender mode and she will shred you quick. The timings for all her attacks are the tightest if anything in the series as well. Then while you're learning you notice "oh there's no opening after this" and have to learn another layer in when you can stagger her (btw it's never if she feels like it).
No other boss in any game I've played has made me feel so disgusted once I finally beat them. I'd rather redo a 5x bed of chaos boss rush that this Coldsteel The Hedgheg ripoff again.

Not really, I had a load of issues on my first run I was getting my shit pushed in by a lot of end game bosses, but I did beat the game with summons though. On my second playthrough I went strength main instead of magic, pushed my vig up to 60, used the mixed physick with the damage reduce tear and stamina regen, grabbed a great axe and then upgraded it for the executioners great axe and solo'd the game. Only bosses that took me more than 1 or 2 tries were Malenia and Radagon / Elden Beast I actually found Malenia easier than Radagon and EB.
For me the big realization was health at 40 like I'd done in previous souls games wasn't enough, and I had also ignored the mixed phsysick on playthrough 1, if you're not using that you're gimping yourself because with it and decent health you can brush off a lot of damage and suddenly you're not needing to perfect a boss fight to the point of not making a mistake because your build has enough health and damage reduction to take 2 or 3 hits before you have to heal. I despite ash summons though From's AI sucks so having more than one player trivializes a lot of bosses.
>>used in-game summons >you beat the game but chose easy mode

didn't use it until over 50h in the game but then started using it for everything. that pre-nerf stagger was just too good not to use and i was running an int build and using uchikatana anyways.
the worst target i needed to use moonveil against was the giant golem in the cliff near caelid haliq tree. frick that thing
>nerfing a weapon because it is good in single player
Do asiatic devs really?
The problem with this weapon is mainly speed. It does way too much damage and is way to fast. If it wants to keep its damage it should be downgraded to being Astel Wing tier.
Right now it's basically a manditory anti-sippy in pvp.
I avoided Moonveil for the longest time because it was seen as a shitter weapon. Gave it a try later on and I feel bad for not utilizing it more. It's so sexy and feels great to use.
Moonveil is honest now. It does good damage and only shines at a specific range where the WA is almost unblockable. Using moonveil with the blue kimono robes is kino
It's an unfortunate fact that over time Fromsoft has put less attention on level design and more attention on bosses. That's why after your first playthrough you spend like an hour skipping everything that isn't a boss so you have a build fully online before even fighting Margit.
>the only good part of these games is fighting bosses the rest is time padding
that shit only started with DS3. the old games were all about overcoming challenging level design with a cool boss as a reward at the end of each level.
You beat it, but you're not allowed to participate in discussions about strategies or boss difficulty because you've completely upended any semblance of balance the game was meant for.
False comparison because you are implying that it is supposed to be a footrace yet the person isn't running. Using an in-game tool is no more cheating than using an overpowered weapon or spell.
I feel sorry for people whose first souls game was elden ring and not dark souls and I completely understand why those people think that all fromgames are trash.
I'm currently training to beat Unalloyed Malenia, a mod that makes her about 10x more difficult. Best way to train is to use CE and activate godmode, and spend many hours picking up patterns and combos.
Even the world's best souls player has trouble with her.
All group bosses had their behaviour adjusted shortly after release, yes. Mostly just toned down the aggressiveness on whichever ones you aren't engaging, if memory serves.
I'm in the middle of a replay after playing the game once on release and I have to say the weapon upgrade system FRICKING BLOWS. Hell, any kind of upgrade is a chore to get.
yeah, but that dude plays shit for a living. and he still thought it was a good idea to write, submit and publish a seething article on how much he sucks and how much he doesn't care that he sucks. on Ganker it's usually some bored gay trying to bait or seek affirmation from strangers.
Okay you tough guys. Why didnt you finish the game using only bare hands? By your Logic Using reinforced weapons is easy mode and cheating.
Play however you like you idiots, using ingame mechanics is fine.
using summons and buffs is a ctutch. using a big ass stick and going unga bunga on a boss is badass and high test. but you already knew this, strawmaning homosexual.
The only things that are easy mode are >leveling up vigor too much >ashes >certain weapons/arts/spells >going to an area that is lower level than you (but that's not the player's fault for the weird scaling and open world)
summoning another entity to aggro and tank for you is not even in the same realm as improving your weapon, Mr. NPC
using summons and buffs is a ctutch. using a big ass stick and going unga bunga on a boss is badass and high test. but you already knew this, strawmaning homosexual.
I play full str builds, but I dont despise anyone playing differently. You on the other hand act like edgy teenage homosexuals. You are so much better than everyone else. I kneel.
I JUST got tiche this time in my 2nd playthrough. in my first game i killed blaide so i couldnt do all of rannis questline i think
hes really good summon, love the damge over time in him. i really only got to use on maliketh and elden beast though. but for some fights ill still use mimic and he will spam rannis dark moon and really chunk stuff down.
this magic build i have 99 int and elden beast still tough, had easier time on my melee guy. i hate how the boss runs away so much
I thought about using summons but why is it such a pain to upgrade? Couldn't they just have made it happen in exchange for money only? Why another fricking resource to skim the entire map for?
its not hard for me to upgrade but i am the style of player that will clear every tomb I see. thats where the ghost glowarts are. if you're the type of person who just skips everything cause its 'too easy' well then tough.
other people often say the loot sucks when they 'only' get an arteria leaf but I use those to make the upgraded damage buff item and use them for bosses. plus its not about what you get its just a satisfying little challenge to collect that thing lying trapped near that runebear or whatever. if they were gold coins that do nothing I would still collect them.
The problem is that I've already played the game to completion but I realize replays are awful because of that. I simply want to do a quick run of the game but there are way too many scattered resources needed depending on what build/weapon I want that lead me to large detours. I guess it's my fault for wanting to replay an open world game with that mindset but still, it can be annoying.
True. But it's a problem that the intent of the developers seems so unclear.
It's more of the frustration that they just seemed to have no clear vision. How the frick would a playtester go about dodging Waterfowl Dance? What were they thinking with Somber Stones vs regular ones?

And if we're talking about summons not every summon is Black Knife Tiche or Mimic Tear, but for some reason those are the only ones you talk about. It's apparently designed with summons in mind, and yet there's a massive, massive imbalance among summons.
Can't really pretend they're specifically tuned for summons either, considering there are cases where you actually can't summon against certain bosses
Be honest, how many of you losers even beat it blindly with no guides/wikis?
Im not even asking about deathleass or without levelling.
Most of you are certified cazzies, so just keep quiet.
>Dectus
If you don't find the 2nd piece in Dragonbarrow (I didn't on 1st playthrough) you can use the cave to go to Altus. Rya tells you about it.
There's also the Iron Virgin in Raya Lucaria that Patches tells you about.
Has anyone done a run just letting the mimic solo everything? I got about halfway in ng+1 before getting bored after the first nerf(idk if it got more) and the hardest thing it struggled with was having multiple things equipped
Use all the shit you want that makes the game more enjoyable and simultaneously easier. But also use shit and/or limit yourself to make the game enjoyably harder up to your preferred level of difficulty. This is what is missed by morons who call it cheating to use mods.
its stupid yeah. the fact is you can adjust the difficulty by leveling up and farming or upgrading equipment. hell you can even reroll your entire stats and swap to a new build if something really filters you
I played the whole game with the co-op mod and had a blast with my friend.
Really makes me wish we had seamless co-op mods for the DS games, but that would be too hard to do.
Notice how literally all of these threads are made by summon users screaming and crying at people who beat the game solo.
They don't play games for enjoyment, as you can tell they only care about beating the game and getting it over with to brag about it to anons on Ganker. You can tell they hated the game.
Reminder that this autistic sperg has been confirmed as non-white. Probably indian or seamonkey.
have a nice day you moronic brownoid, I physically cringe every time I see you make this post
It was 7/10 game. You could see past 20% of the start of the game that 80% of the game was unfinished and just rushed to be playable, way too much repetition, gameplay is still demon souls level but this time with d3 weapon art spam, all fun new ideas are there but they are unplayable and shitty, monster variety ended up at halfway point of the game, 90% of bosses were shit and final boss was dogshit too. I hope the DLC revamps the base world so fricking much
>I hope the DLC revamps the base world so fricking much
It better considering it's been in development so long that modders have basically done total overhauls by this point.
>I hope the DLC revamps the base world so fricking much

are seriously expecting them to change the open world? this isn't a free update. you'll probably get a whole new map.

The design is very unclear and messy, and I think for most people spirit ashes seem to make it more apparent that they had no idea what they were doing
I remember when Miyahacki claimed his playstyle revolved around a low VIG build that recklessly traded blows. Even though that's basically fricking impossible. Doubt he even knows what half the enemies do in ER.
>I think for most people spirit ashes seem to make it more apparent that they had no idea what they were doing
A good half of them are completely useless, even against normal enemies.
>we intended fully for this boss to have her two healthbars melted in seconds by the player's summoned NPC, before the player could even see her moveset
If that's really true, then that's just objectively dogshit boss design that they phoned in. You cannot pretend that's a thoughtfully designed game, in the same vein as Bloodborne. But it's probably true, they were lazy and just wanted to cram it full of dogshit hoping people would overlook the massive flaws.
they probably threw that shit in as a band aid after play testers got absolutely rekt by the solo boss fights. since they didn't want to scrap all these elaborate boss movesets they worked on so hard.
>we intended players to hit 2-3 frame perfection dodge rolls based on animations to not instantly lose because losing instantly is apparently difficulty. btw my favorite game is iwtbtg
>we intended players to hit 2-3 frame perfection dodge rolls based on animations to not instantly lose because losing instantly is apparently difficulty. btw my favorite game is iwtbtg
From software adds Co-op as a second thought. the AI has never been sophisticated enough to handle more than a player which is why really frustrating double fights were designed.
They badly nerfed every remotely powerful weapon and summon far more than any boss got nerfed, and they even undid some of the boss nerfs. Elden Ring now is a far harder game than it was at launch.
Elden ring balance is just terrible, the bosses are way too easy and boring with summons but simultaneously way too dificult and unfun solo unless you go for a handful of meta builds. It really feels like they didn't finish tuning the combat and dropped summons as a bandaid.
I kind of wish souls games had a better coop experience. I've beaten these games like a million times, I want to just frick around with a friend and meme on bosses for the keks, there's nothing else for me to do. Shame that no game has a seamless coop mod except for elden ring.
So you barely respect anyone? There's a reason that the regular ending was one of the least gotten according to achievements. Yes it is technically possible to get one of the other endings blind but it is not likely, and certainly not so likely that they dwarf the standard ending in attainment.
No, I don't. Souls games are meant to be played blind first time, just like all other games, you are not meant to start a game and follow walkthrough. If you find the mimic tear by yourself good for you, if you look up where to find it you are not gaming, just metagaming.
The ranni ending achievment being more common than the regular ending achievment just shows how moronic the playerbase of souls games have become.
>ranni ending
if you sweep the entire map (which is what I did) it's more likely to get this ending than to not get it.
that's what happened to me, and to many other friends that I know played blind because we tried our best to not share info between each other.
You have to actively try not to get her ending to be completely honest. Her questline is not only expansive but is pretty straight forward and you can even skip a lot of it (the whole back-and-forth between Blaidd and Seluvis and Sellen for example if you already activated the Radahn festival). The only point at which I could see someone not finishing it is if they don't think to speak to Iji after Ranni disappears or don't notice they can speak to the doll once they take the Renna's Rise portal.
Souls games have never been particularly difficult. Some people argue that they're challenging if you don't use x or y or z but they're just demonstrating the point, the game itself isn't hard. Saying 'it's hard if you pile on arbitrary constraints on yourself' is meaningless, you can do that to any game and it'll be "hard" afterwards.
>There are people that unequip all of their gear before fighting the Mimic Tear. >Not deliberately equipping even more busted shit than you normally use, Bloodhound's Step etcetera, to make the fight more entertaining.
What enemies do you want to see as Spirit Ashes in the DLC?
>Duelists (bonus points if it starts cloaked and removes it as part of the summoning animation like the boss version) >A bat colony / one of the singing ones >Giant Miranda Sprout >Giant Land Octopus >Omen >ANTS >Group of those creepy Celebrants >Servants of Rot (the casters with the poison bolts) >Revenant
If using summons and spell is not the "intended" way to play the game, why are the majority of the rewards you get in this game spells and summons?
You explore a cave, kill a boss to get a reward you are not suppose to be using?
The enemy design is definitely bad, otherwise we wouldn't need summons. All these fake "solo" runs on the internet are recorded 8 hours after dying over and over building up muscle memory to get lucky rng for malenia and other bosses with unfair attacks. They even acknowledged it took them hours. Fromdrones are a very vocal minority. They don't represent all Elden ring fans.
When people say you're cheating by using spells, they are not referring to shit like an eagle or the poison eggs or useless shit like that, they are talking about literal cheat ashes like BK Tiche, the greatshield boys or Mimic Tear. Basically anything that let's you draw agro easily while lasting for more than half of the bossfight.
Feels like a bit of a non sequitur, they've nerfed a lot of shit they felt was unbalanced after the fact. That doesn't mean using spirit ashes is not clearly something they intended players to do.
I've had more fun with spirit summons once I started trying to keep them thematic to my characters.
>Marionette cosplay that can only use marionette/avian marionettes. >Vulgar Militia cosplay using Vulgar Militia >Necromancer build using skellies, putrid corpses, jellyfish. >Azula build using Nightmaiden & Swordstress as Mai and Ty Lee. >Glintstone sorcerer summoning Raya Lucaria soldiers as bodyguards.
But you did cheat yourself out of the joy of getting gud.

didn't use it until over 50h in the game but then started using it for everything. that pre-nerf stagger was just too good not to use and i was running an int build and using uchikatana anyways.
the worst target i needed to use moonveil against was the giant golem in the cliff near caelid haliq tree. frick that thing
The problem with this weapon is mainly speed. It does way too much damage and is way to fast. If it wants to keep its damage it should be downgraded to being Astel Wing tier.
Right now it's basically a manditory anti-sippy in pvp.
Not a single intelligent person cares about ER's PvP.
Face it. Summons are an intrinsic part of the game. Stop crying about it.
I just wish the demi-human boyz were better.
I beat the entire game with a zweihander. no summons, no buffs, no magic. git good. you didn't beat the game.
>using greatswords
lol get gud scrub
use a real mans weapon
like what?
firsts only
Torch.
Flails.
dual great hammers
whips
only prancing lala homosexual gays use whips
Says the cum connoisseur who uses greatswords.
you're just upset your pallet isn't as refined as mine
pvp gays never expect a whip
say that to my face fricker not online
whats the point of using an item that takes half of the boss hp bar when the only good part of these games is fighting bosses the rest is time padding
>the only good part of these games is fighting bosses the rest is time padding
>t. DS3 was my first souls
It's an unfortunate fact that over time Fromsoft has put less attention on level design and more attention on bosses. That's why after your first playthrough you spend like an hour skipping everything that isn't a boss so you have a build fully online before even fighting Margit.
because bandwagoning homosexuals only play the game so they can say they "beat it". they don't actually enjoy playing it.
I just wanted to do a "pokemon" run
>the only good part of these games is fighting bosses the rest is time padding
that shit only started with DS3. the old games were all about overcoming challenging level design with a cool boss as a reward at the end of each level.
>overcoming challenging level design
alright if you die to the copypasted mobs you get a cheat item card you do need it
>imagine caring what some Black folk think on a taiwanese microcircuitry message board
You beat it, but you're not allowed to participate in discussions about strategies or boss difficulty because you've completely upended any semblance of balance the game was meant for.
the game was balanced around them. they exist in the game and you get tons of them. you're omega coping if you think otherwise
if you didnt come fard and sneeze at the same time ydbtg
easy mode is also beating a game, doesen't mean you wont get laughed at for pretending you are good at the game because you beat it on training wheels
I honestly had no idea the chicken hat was easy mode, I thought I just unlocked some secret item
Yeah, you unlock it by dying alot consecutively
Haven't played since launch. Is Mimic still broken?
Nerfed hard, but still easy mode.
You didn't beat the game
Let’s say you run a race, but then you push a button where your shoes turn into wheels and your wheels carry you to the finish line
Now ask yourself: did you really run the race?
The race allowed me a button to turn my shoes into wheels.
You are absolutely correct.
You're missing the point entirely but I applaud you for standing up for things you felt strongly about before but can't relate to now.
elaborate on that. no idea what you mean.
I'm currently training to beat Unalloyed Malenia, a mod that makes her about 10x more difficult. Best way to train is to use CE and activate godmode, and spend many hours picking up patterns and combos.
Even the world's best souls player has trouble with her.
I am the worlds best souls player thoughever
The gank fights in Elden Ring were so shit they should just auto spawn the mimic tear
Godskin Duo best boss in the game
RL1, no cheese, no sleep pots
>post-nerf
yawn
They got nerfed?
Every gank boss got nerfed
All group bosses had their behaviour adjusted shortly after release, yes. Mostly just toned down the aggressiveness on whichever ones you aren't engaging, if memory serves.
I'm in the middle of a replay after playing the game once on release and I have to say the weapon upgrade system FRICKING BLOWS. Hell, any kind of upgrade is a chore to get.
Sure.
However, that doesn't stop you from being a little pussy b***h that has to play on easy mode 🙂
>I'm so unaffected by this that I wrote an entire article coping about it
kek, gaming journos are the gift that keeps on giving
>I'm so unaffected by this that I posted dozens of threads coping about it
Ganker is no better
yeah, but that dude plays shit for a living. and he still thought it was a good idea to write, submit and publish a seething article on how much he sucks and how much he doesn't care that he sucks. on Ganker it's usually some bored gay trying to bait or seek affirmation from strangers.
>He got paid to write around his cope
>Ganker does it for free

Okay you tough guys. Why didnt you finish the game using only bare hands? By your Logic Using reinforced weapons is easy mode and cheating.
Play however you like you idiots, using ingame mechanics is fine.
using summons and buffs is a ctutch. using a big ass stick and going unga bunga on a boss is badass and high test. but you already knew this, strawmaning homosexual.
summoning another entity to aggro and tank for you is not even in the same realm as improving your weapon, Mr. NPC
The only things that are easy mode are
>leveling up vigor too much
>ashes
>certain weapons/arts/spells
>going to an area that is lower level than you (but that's not the player's fault for the weird scaling and open world)
I play full str builds, but I dont despise anyone playing differently. You on the other hand act like edgy teenage homosexuals. You are so much better than everyone else. I kneel.
>playing STR
>still using summons like an absolute pussy
>I p-play summons for fun!
>BUT I REFUSE TO USE ANY SUMMONS BUT MIMIC TEAR. IF YOU DON'T USE MIMIC TEAR YOU'RE A TRYHARD!
Tiche or mimic?
Dung eater.
Not even kidding. That motherfricker can solo Malenia at +10
Oh yeah but that guy is a pain to obtain.
Tiche is a woman
People who use mimic tear spam these threads because they are extremely insecure and feel like they ruined the game for themselves
I don't feel like I ruined the game. I taught the game not to be fricking stupid instead.
>the game is le stoopid
Christ, you are raving mad LMAO
>Beating the game on easy mode
Sure but there's nothing to brag about either.
You didn't beat the game.
If you use the tools that are deliberately provided to you, you beat the game and only autistic, insecure manchildren argue otherwise.
Be honest, how many of you losers even beat it blindly with no guides/wikis?
Im not even asking about deathleass or without levelling.
Most of you are certified cazzies, so just keep quiet.
>implying I needed a guide on how to hit things with a big wooden stick
kek. you still didn't beat the game, btw.
Not me.
I was curious though. How are you intended on figuring out where the Dectus and Haligtree medallions are? Are the hints easy to miss?
>Dectus
If you find one, the location of the other one is in the item description
>Dectus
If you don't find the 2nd piece in Dragonbarrow (I didn't on 1st playthrough) you can use the cave to go to Altus. Rya tells you about it.
There's also the Iron Virgin in Raya Lucaria that Patches tells you about.
Me as I played it during launch
Majority of people have cheated
they cheated only themselves
Has anyone done a run just letting the mimic solo everything? I got about halfway in ng+1 before getting bored after the first nerf(idk if it got more) and the hardest thing it struggled with was having multiple things equipped
Some people have done summon/pacifist runs where they only buff/heal their ashes
Use all the shit you want that makes the game more enjoyable and simultaneously easier. But also use shit and/or limit yourself to make the game enjoyably harder up to your preferred level of difficulty. This is what is missed by morons who call it cheating to use mods.
its stupid yeah. the fact is you can adjust the difficulty by leveling up and farming or upgrading equipment. hell you can even reroll your entire stats and swap to a new build if something really filters you
I didn't beat the game
I played the whole game with the co-op mod and had a blast with my friend.
Really makes me wish we had seamless co-op mods for the DS games, but that would be too hard to do.
Why do we live in world where people care how other people play/beat single player games.
you still didn't beat the game
Notice how literally all of these threads are made by summon users screaming and crying at people who beat the game solo.
They don't play games for enjoyment, as you can tell they only care about beating the game and getting it over with to brag about it to anons on Ganker. You can tell they hated the game.
If you didn't play the game the exact same way I play it, you didn't beat the game.
Stop not being me.
Why won't you be me?
You're supposed to be me.
Everyone is supposed to be me.
Me is better than not me because me is me.
Me me me me me me me me me me.
Meeeeeeeeeee.
MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
cry all you want. you still didn't beat the game.
WHY WON'T YOU JUST BE ME????!!!!!???!!!!
WHY WON'T YOU JUST BE ME?!!!!!!!???!!!!!!?
WHY?!!????? WON'T?!!!!!!!????? YOU?!?!!!!!??? JUST?!???????? BE?!!!?????! MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE??!!!?!!!!???!!?????
yeah, good question. why wont you beat the game?
Play the game the exact same way that I played it OR IT DOESN'T FRICKING COUNT.
JUST STOP NOT BEING ME.
BE ME.
BE ME.
BE. ME.
BE ME!!!!!!!!!!
you're still crying? could have beaten the game by now
Please explain to me why everyone refuses to be me. Why doesn't anyone understand that me is better than not me because me is me?
I hope the DLC revamps the base world so fricking much
>I hope the DLC revamps the base world so fricking much
wishful thinking. you'll probably just teleport to a new map, like in every other souls DLC.
>I hope the DLC revamps the base world so fricking much
It better considering it's been in development so long that modders have basically done total overhauls by this point.
are seriously expecting them to change the open world? this isn't a free update. you'll probably get a whole new map.
I'm expecting a minimum from a multi-billion dollar IP that's achieve universal acclaim and has had another 2 years of dev time put into it.
it's not realistic because you would end up with two different versions of the game.
Yeah that'd probably be for the best.
didn't they sell that as a whole new game?
It was a cheaper purchase if you owned the original.
The design is very unclear and messy, and I think for most people spirit ashes seem to make it more apparent that they had no idea what they were doing
Did anyone even fricking playtest the game?
>I think for most people spirit ashes seem to make it more apparent that they had no idea what they were doing
A good half of them are completely useless, even against normal enemies.
Again probably not even playtested
i cheesed the final 10 bosses because i just wanted it to end.
>credits rolled
I beat the game.
I am going to find you and kill you
pls don't rape my bussy first. that would be so weird, h-hehe uwu
>we intended fully for this boss to have her two healthbars melted in seconds by the player's summoned NPC, before the player could even see her moveset
Game balance has never been among From's talents.
they probably threw that shit in as a band aid after play testers got absolutely rekt by the solo boss fights. since they didn't want to scrap all these elaborate boss movesets they worked on so hard.
>we intended players to hit 2-3 frame perfection dodge rolls based on animations to not instantly lose because losing instantly is apparently difficulty. btw my favorite game is iwtbtg
>we intended players to hit 2-3 frame perfection dodge rolls based on animations to not instantly lose because losing instantly is apparently difficulty. btw my favorite game is iwtbtg
they intended for any moron to beat the game because that's how you make the big bucks.
eric moment
>Boss fight is hard
Come forth my saviours
From software adds Co-op as a second thought. the AI has never been sophisticated enough to handle more than a player which is why really frustrating double fights were designed.
That being said, it basically breaks the game.
What's the best ash of war for the Zweihander?
Giant Hunt.
Lion's Claw
i didnt
stopped at elden beast
Mimic Tear with a Jar Canon is fun.
>beat Malenia
>go to final boss
>have to chase boss around big ass field
>holy shit this boss fight is boring
>never technically finish the game
Threadly reminder that if you played after the boss nerf patches, you did not beat the game
They retracted the Radahn damage nerf, the only difference now is the AoE is actually reflected in the animations.
His arrow tracking is still nerfed he used to be able to snipe people off their horses 100% of the time.
>There is nothing wrong with using tools available to me.
So you beat the game solo then?
>seamless coop
>both of us using summons
yep, it's gaming time
I kind of wish souls games had a better coop experience. I've beaten these games like a million times, I want to just frick around with a friend and meme on bosses for the keks, there's nothing else for me to do. Shame that no game has a seamless coop mod except for elden ring.
I used Latenna
me too
she told me she would help me, and she did
I have more respect for someone who used mimic tear than someone who consulted a wiki during their first playthrough.
If you didn't get the Ranni ending you didn't beat the game.
*Dung Eater
we don't sign our posts here
>Souls games are meant to be played blind first time
No they're not
You have to actively try not to get her ending to be completely honest.
Is Elden Ring a traditional souls game?
My character moves like a DS1 character but everyone else is faster than me.
If you learnt enemy patterns, you didn't beat the game. Knowing the patterns trivialises the bosses
I beat the game.
Rollspam and R1 every 3 minutes is fricking boring and I'm tired of pretending it's not.
>There are people that unequip all of their gear before fighting the Mimic Tear.
>Not deliberately equipping even more busted shit than you normally use, Bloodhound's Step etcetera, to make the fight more entertaining.
That's just setting yourself up for failure especially if you're a caster as the boss mimic tear just like other hostile npcs has infinite FP
What enemies do you want to see as Spirit Ashes in the DLC?
>Duelists (bonus points if it starts cloaked and removes it as part of the summoning animation like the boss version)
>A bat colony / one of the singing ones
>Giant Miranda Sprout
>Giant Land Octopus
>Omen
>ANTS
>Group of those creepy Celebrants
>Servants of Rot (the casters with the poison bolts)
>Revenant
Both variants of miner
Glintstone snails
If using summons and spell is not the "intended" way to play the game, why are the majority of the rewards you get in this game spells and summons?
You explore a cave, kill a boss to get a reward you are not suppose to be using?
How is this good game design?
Using weapons is cheating
Address the point, homosexual.
You're claiming using weapons and armor is cheating. I didn't say it. Anything that makes the game easier or balanced is cheating.
They are the intended way to play the game.
>[citation needed]
Why did From nerf the shit out of them then? Good luck trying to get carried by anything in the current version.
>Why did From nerf the shit out of them then?
Feels like a bit of a non sequitur, they've nerfed a lot of shit they felt was unbalanced after the fact. That doesn't mean using spirit ashes is not clearly something they intended players to do.
>How is this good game design?
You'll get it when you grow up.
I've had more fun with spirit summons once I started trying to keep them thematic to my characters.
>Marionette cosplay that can only use marionette/avian marionettes.
>Vulgar Militia cosplay using Vulgar Militia
>Necromancer build using skellies, putrid corpses, jellyfish.
>Azula build using Nightmaiden & Swordstress as Mai and Ty Lee.
>Glintstone sorcerer summoning Raya Lucaria soldiers as bodyguards.
Did I beat THPS4 if I used matrix mode and moon gravity for one challenge?
