I bought Half Life Anthology on Steam, planning to finish HL1 for the first time.
Something I should know before playing? also mods recommendations?

not really
>mods recommendations?
https://www.youtube.com/c/ajollywanker this guy plays a bunch
Half-Life is more updated. Half-Life: Source is abandoned.
No mods are necessary for your first playthrough I think. Last time I played it worked great in any resolution.
the music glitches and stops after load times on the steam version maybe HL1 has been patched individually idk but blue shift and opposing force have this annoying habit of starting the music before a load time leading to a big fight/event and the load times stops the music just like that.
it's a glitch that valve introduced in a patch and never fixed. so all single player mods are impacted. shame
Learn to write. For real.
deal with it. for real.
if it's about the caps, lurk moar.
I'm not him, and the post wasn't that bad, but run-on sentences make reading unnecessarily difficult, and that's probably what he was complaining about. Use punctuation. Most people will probably just keep scrolling if they have any difficulty figuring out what the frick you're trying to write, which is likely to happen if you let two complete sentences just run together with zero punctuation in between.
There was nothing wrong with that you nitpicky troony homosexual. Stop acting like frickers need proper syntax and grammar for some bullshit post. Stupid dick sucking troon.

Turn off the HD models if you want the authentic experience. It also fricks with some of the gun models like changing the MP5 submachine gun into a Colt Model 727 assault rifle. They were added with the Blue Shift expansion which started out as an extra for the cancelled Dreamcast port of Half-Life.
Also as someone said forget about Half-Life Source. It has a few updated graphical effects here and there but its a buggy and unstable. If you want to play an updated Half-Life then play Black Mesa but definitely play the original Half-Life first.
Play Half-life, Blue Shift and then Opposing Forces in that order.
turn down the fricking sound effects BUZZZRRRRRRRRRRR KUHHH.. BEEP BEEEEP BEEEEP BEEEEEEEEEEEP
It's not quite a traditional first person shooter. Gordon hasn't become the action hero he goes on to be, so when playing it, try to think of it as a cat and mouse game. Something more stealthy. Maybe like Die Hard. Your weapons can function like tools at times. You need to outsmart your opponents rather than just always run head first into combat because the enemies can be really tanky.
>Something I should know before playing?
Turn the lights off, turn you phone off, keep your other monitor blank.
Try to get as into the game as possible. It was really one of the first times I felt total immersion in a game before.
>complete
>no 1.5
I swear you just got cheated out of the best part
