My interpretation of it is that she's trying to not seem so clueless. When you have that wine date, she admits she asks you of your past because she has very little recollection of her own. It's something that bothers her. She's always trying to sound like she knows more than she really does, when she doesn't remember almost anything. Tav is the right decision not because they're the only experience she can remember, but they have to be the best she has had. Or so she tells herself.
Karlach is still a lot better because she doesn't neg at you all of the time, she actually trusts you, and isn't deeply insecure. She's nowhere as manipulative as even Shart is when Shart likes you.
She's like the biggest goodie two shoes in the game, literally a sweet innocent dindu girl who just got brainwashed as a child when she was abandoned and scared. Its a shame because I was looking forward to her actually being villainous

My logic right now is that the game hasn't told me what side she's on. I've been operating under the assumption that Shar doesn't necessarily approve of her followers actions and could be a beneficial ally if she doesn't. However, I frankly don't know much about the Goddess or her goals other than she's a sneaky evil shadow goddess. Time to do some reading I guess.
Yes and no, if you wanna actually do the tower content that isn't just murderhobo you have to go there before shadowfell basically. It has a lot of content so its worth.

No idea I didn't play a Paladin but if you're playing a good character I don't see why you would let her become a Dark Justiciar.

Shar is one of the most evil goddesses. If there was a god of pettiness, it'd be her.
