>no, my simple art is not my limitation as an artist, it's supposed to look bad!
Nobody could possibly fall for this cope after hearing this bullshit for hundreds of years.
Go watch tv static instead, you'd like it.
Looking good! Except the grass looks like pea beansprouts, make it darker. Also too much light reflection, there are better ways to represent a pleasant sunny day.
All you need to make amazing art is paper and crayons. Back then, the industry was hiring people after art school. Now they hire people with computer-related degree.
Terranigma doesn't really need a remake. The art is very good. But if one were to be made, I would prefer simply having larger sprites. I think it would benefit the style to give characters longer limbs. Not only for style, but for gameplay purposes. Ark's staff should be a lot longer, with longer arms for extra reach, and big sweeping motions. That way, the player can actually do more with space in battle. Allowing for more interesting enemy behaviors too, since you have more room to work with.
I want Ark to move like Aang from Avatar
I suppose full 7.5 head proportions would be difficult to produce. But the proportions of River City Girls would probably be economical enough to produce high quality sprites, while also having longer limbed and expressive characters.
>Terranigma doesn't really need a remake. The art is very good. But if one were to be made, I would prefer simply having larger sprites. >it doesn't need a remake it just needs to every single asset in the game remade
The concept of a Terranigma remake makes me conflicted.
On one hand, this game never got to experience the popularity it deserved and a re-release or remaster would maybe fix that.
On the other, more people playing it would ruin online discussion of that game. Plus, if most people completely ignore its existence because it wasn't released on the US when it should have, maybe they don't deserve a remaster.
The artist(or artists?) for Terranigma would probably be down to return. Someone continues to post new artwork every now and again, for anniversaries and such. So if a legitimate remake did happen, it would still feel like Terranigma visually.
Zoomers and investors are not people
It does, you're just a contrarian
what game
dq3
Wait...I think this looks good!
Well be that as it may, if I catch you I will not consider you a brother or a friend
can't believe there are Black folk out there that don't think this looks good
The lighting effects are a bit much but I think it's neat.
What CAN you believe?
it would look pretty good without the blur and bloom and soft lighting
and if they actually made sprites for the fire instead of that shitty particle effect
I do!!!
It does. Suck my wiener
cope boomer
This actually does look good though. Reminds me of the early Trails games somewhat.
Man that looks moronic. Far too great of a contrast between the characters/sprites and everything else.
Yeah that's the worst thing. If the sprites were a little higher res it'd look really good.
that would take a team of talented pixel artists and maybe a slight raise of salary
It looks decent coming from its engine.
The bigger question is where the frick is the game, it's been 3 years now
What is it? (I know some dragon quest)
read, homosexual, read!
It's still dq3
I think they might have been holding off for Switch 2. Certainly 12 is.
100% this. Wouldn't surprise me if we see both during the reveal event.
Holy SOUL
Unironically an improvement
You might be onto something
That's the mosaic filter, right?
The contrast with the background is just too jarring
Now we're talking
what game
Star Ocean Second Story R
Not bright enough
Needs more bloom and god rays
I hate 2.5D so much it's unreal.
I can't believe people actually think realism is the ultimate ideal for graphics design
people without imagination (like 99% of females) think so
>no, my simple art is not my limitation as an artist, it's supposed to look bad!

I don't, and I've played the old versions enough to know that camera angle will frick up finding the hidden areas.
I have purchased every "HD-2D" game and you will not stop me.
Bait
Old games used to look so much better. I feel like we've lost the SOVL that made games good at the turn of the century.
This. I haven't played a new game that has satisfied me in hears. People were right, old is usually better.
Looking good! Except the grass looks like pea beansprouts, make it darker. Also too much light reflection, there are better ways to represent a pleasant sunny day.
Looks like soul to me.
The sprites look out of place but otherwise, yeah it looks alright.
*removes the bloom*
It now does.
looks like PS2 kino
Would you be satisfied with a Terranigma remake in that style? If not, what would be the best way to remake it?
the fact the japanese made those CG with very primitive hardware and software back then makes me want to kill myself

I could see this get picked up by WayForward and receive the Clock Tower treatment
>I could see this get picked up by WayForward
You keep that evil OUT of this house.
Hell no.

ESL?
>Would you be satisfied with a Terranigma remake
no
i am already satisfied with Terranigma

It's being done.
I hope that whoever is working on this loses motivation. I never want to see this get a release.
Its almost like people are different and not just a mass of mindless sheep with the same thoughts as you
WOW...
Mindless sheep like you can't understand pure sovl.
Sprites in a 3D environment are my fetish.
are there any games which are the opposite
Most games with pre-rendered backgrounds
Guess what, it does.
If you turned off post processing it would instantly look better
Hacks try to ruin kino old games with moronic new shit.
I do think it looks good
no, you don't
