At best it would have been like after the time skip in XV where there are crazy powerful monster you have to avoid. There is no way they would put that at the start of the game and have new players get frustrated with unwinnable fights so it would have been even worst. It would have been you beating up a bunch of little bad guys then a cut scene of you running away from a Behemoth.
Rex is going to be nothing like 13 as well. Mostly because it won't be a real game and will just be a small part of whatever they do with KH next. Even if it was it's own game it would have giant colorful robots as the bad guy. All you will get however is Sora asking Rex guy how to get back to his own world.
