I liked the first Mass Effect but Virmire made me not want to play the rest, and I've never played Dragon Age but it seems dissimilar to Mass Effect from what I've seen.

Greedfall is probably one of the most "It exists" games out there. It does nothing great, yet some good like the overall plot.
Elex plays like other games by the same dev, like Risen and somewhat like the beginning of Gothic if you've played any of those. Although Elex allows you to fly in the air for a little bit.
How's the combat and random loot stuff? Is the movement clunky or ok?
Random loot is basically just a barely noticeable affix, and to be honest I forget the combat, but what stuck out the most about Greedfall was the backtracking through swamps.
Mass Effect and Dragon Age basically play indentically. One is fantasy, one is sci-fi but you'd have to be actually moronic to think it seems dissimilar.
Also, I loved Greedfall. However, I'm a sucker for games that play like ME or DA:O. I even loved Mars: War Log and The Technomancer.

Lmao i literally was just thinking about this game the other day cause i was laughing at how shitty Life of P looks, how it's clearly a AA game that is trying to be a AAA game but falls way short. Greedfall popped into my head cause it's the exact same deal, Greedfall tried so hard to be a dragon age/mass effect AAA game but just didn't pull it off.
I thought that was ELEX? I've played Greedfall and I agree with every anon here but I held back from buying ELEX because all the reviews say it's just as generic on top of also being janky.

Yeah what you get in chests will be the same, but an affix might be different. Gold and ammo will have a different quantity. That kind of stuff.

It's "Remember Me" and it's not even close. Greedfall had an interesting world, antagonist, and conflcit.
The best part of Greedfall is the protagonist going all "do you know who I am? I'll have you know I........." to everyone.
