JSR just feels like a clunky beta version of Future
it's not a bad game, but the physics feel awkward as frick and the later levels are really badly designed because you have to avoid spraying anything and go for the XL tags first, because you won't be able to do them later (too many police around) >t. got Jet rating on every stage and 100%'d the game
Clunky feel is something you get used to after 15 minutes of playing. I really love the slow acceleration because when you prep to pick up some speed and go fast it feels really good.
Oddly enough I actually enjoyed having to come up with good routes.
>JSR just feels like a clunky beta version of Future
The best way to put it, it has it's charm and is worth a play through but the dogshit controls and camera really put a damper on the experience.
Why not? I thought it was fun, the music and graphics are cool as frick too. What’s not to like? Maybe I just don’t take games as serious as you dweebs.
Really didn't like the redesigns of the characters.
I prefered the mission structure.
I don't like the level design.
The way tagging worked in the original was more fun as well.
>tagging was more fun in the original
You really think that? It was just a QTE you did under missile fire >but in JSRF you just hold a button
Momentum is maintained and you don't have to play duck-duck-goose for every mission objective
yeah but theres nothing to do in jsrf. Its just wandering maps tagging spots with a single button press until a segmented combat section. Its fricking boring. At least JSR has an arcade structure where you are timed and scored and you have to play pacman with the police to get all your tags down.
I could've picked a bundle with this game and Sega GT or one with Halo. I went with the Halo one. And so I never got to play this game.
Glad I did because Halo was great.
The artstyle for these games always sucks me in and I wanna try them but then I load up a vid on the youtube and the music is always cringe af. How can you make such cool looking games and then put corny music? If they ever make another game then they have to at least put one nicki or drake song and maybe some kpop too please.
>hating aisle 10.
Ngmi. I used to bump that when worked at a smoothie shop when I was 20. Even had a cute girl named Allison come in while it was playing. Made my move. Never scored.
>Made my move >Never scored
I didn't think I would become this guy, but I am the guy hitting on older women and seeing if they'd be interested in sex.
Banged the first one, second had a boyfriend her age but was totally into me and now I have a third on the hook that I'm gonna go see tomorrow.
I think I have come to terms with how simple I am as a man. It doesn't take a lot for me to be attracted to a woman, just a few nice words, a pretty smile and a genuine conversation and I'm sold. It's crazy how rare that is to find in girls my age.
Thanks for reading my blog. I hope you learned something.
JSR is an arcade game on a console. Beat this level within this time. Optimize a run/route through a level. Memorize the tag inputs for your character and buffer them before they even pop up. No damage. Etc. It's a score game. And a wee bit clunkier than JSRF but not by a long shot.
JSRF on the other hand, is basically a platformer collectathon. Did you find all the tags in this area? Go talk to Cube in the sewers and see what poison jam is up to! After we do an event race now there's the scripted police section where you run/fight. Then back to going around the segmented levels in the world to progress the story. This is why they changed the tagging as the pressure of time/cops is no longer the crux of the game. Finding all the tags and platforming around the levels is.
They're different. JSR is arcade-like in its design, Future is more modern and relaxed. I enjoyed Future more, but can understand why people would prefer the first one.
I don't know who'd like the GBA one though.
They're all good games but bomb rush is the best
it combines the chill relaxing gameplay of future with the satisfying route-planning of the original >:)
I played Future on cxbx a while ago and I was expecting it to feel good to play, but it is very disappointing. A played JSR a long time ago, but from what I remember, it is basically the same shit.
finally 100%ed it this year using my same save from when I was like 5. Still love this game, if only bomb rush had the laser trails on the skates/gear like in future I would've loved it almost as much. Plus I gotta say in bomb rush everyone having the same moves and each button doing the same trick was pretty disappointing. I don't think I ever got tired of doing tricks in future since it's kind of random what comes out but it's also different per character. Disappointed I didn't unlock those time trial things until this late in life otherwise I would've picked it up more over the years.
i dont think anyone who likes JSR has played it

JSRF isn't that much better though. Still feels floaty as frick.
this
it cost me almost three tries to actually play JSR from start to finish, I just player out of nostalgia for playing JSRF
Why not? I thought it was fun, the music and graphics are cool as frick too. What’s not to like? Maybe I just don’t take games as serious as you dweebs.
why not? <lists everything but the gameplay> is really good!
I was referring to the gameplay when I said it was fun. I understand if you don’t like it but I enjoyed my time with it.
Why?
Really didn't like the redesigns of the characters.
I prefered the mission structure.
I don't like the level design.

i agree with all of those, i'm not a fan of the pseudo open world. i think i might like the soundtrack in jsrf more though.

Are you saying that JSR is the Dark Souls of Jet Set Radio games and JSRF is the Sony press button to win movie game?
yeah but theres nothing to do in jsrf. Its just wandering maps tagging spots with a single button press until a segmented combat section. Its fricking boring. At least JSR has an arcade structure where you are timed and scored and you have to play pacman with the police to get all your tags down.
I hate the low framerate and slow gameplay of the first one. I wish they had remade it with newer engine
I could've picked a bundle with this game and Sega GT or one with Halo. I went with the Halo one. And so I never got to play this game.
Glad I did because Halo was great.
It's an Okami situation where it's reputation was completely carried by it's artstyle.
but people stopped pretending to care about okami.

Literally no one dislikes jet set radio music, square

ah yes birthday cake,i love that song
Birthday Cake is a bit hard on the ears but those other two are kino.
>broken by the birthday cake
Many such cases.
>hating aisle 10.

I WAS 20. Now I am 29. I am now the old man hitting on younger girls, but also short a fat. Ugly bastard maxxing bro.

Birthday Cake is unironically a great song. Works even better in the context of the game, but it's a damn good tune.
>EXTRA SUGAR EXTRA SALT
>EXTRA OIL AND M.S.G
Dunno if true but i heard the singer for birthday cake is that asian chick from gorillaz
mediocre bait, 6/10
bump
Shit opinion. Kys right now
Almost apples to oranges if we're being honest.

I too preferred JSR. Future is still very good but the tagging and constant fights were a letdown.
wawa
Can't even play the original after playing Future, it's too slow and too clunky.
They're all good games but bomb rush is the best

Does bomb rush have any cultural Marxism? I know JSR and future don't but what about bomb rush? Any homosexualry in that game?
i do not know what that means or if you're doing a bit
>JSR just feels like a clunky beta version of Future
almost everyone says this but future also feels like complete ass.
can't imagine it even worse.
I played Future on cxbx a while ago and I was expecting it to feel good to play, but it is very disappointing. A played JSR a long time ago, but from what I remember, it is basically the same shit.

moron or confidentially lying?
You're even faster in JSRF.
Compared to Sonic, you're basically a sled in the original.
