This game is one of my go-to examples of bad games being forever bad. No matter how hard revisionist homosexuals like try, there's just no salvaging it
you're free to like it of course, but there's no argument against the fact that the game is just pure shit
I always think back to how you could infinitely dash-mid air, and how the tiny bit of fall in between dashes would result in this really janky looking and feeling stair-shaped pattern. Feels like such unprofessional design. Feels even odder that some fans defended at the time, if you wanted infinite air dashing they could've just given some sort of glide mechanic or something.
I was looking forward to Gunvolt because I thought it'd be a fresh spin on the Mega Man X premise that did away with some of the sacred cows of the franchise while adding some unique stuff of its own.
I was SUPER disappointed by Gunvolt, but years later Luminous Avenger ended up being more or less exactly what I had wanted. So I'm happy about that at least.
The original idea for the powers you gain from enemies sounded a lot like Kirby and couldn't have been that hard to implement instead of just speed and power boost or whatever.
>The original idea for the powers you gain from enemies sounded a lot like Kirby and couldn't have been that hard to implement
The problem is that these powers are always, and I mean ALWAYS ass. Just look at Axl's copying from MMX7 and 8. Or picrel

How did Kirby get formula for copying powers right while everyone else does it wrong?
Because when Kirby copies a power, his overall movement doesn't change, just what the B button does. He can still slide, float, etc. but the B button swings a sword or shits fire or whatever instead of inhaling. Axl and friends' transformations try to have different movement or skills that are never refined or have limited, specific use with stage gimmicks so they suck.
He's EXACTLY who I was thinking of when I wrote that post lol. Well, him and the homosexual flower who I also remember being a bit slow.

>who I also remember being a bit slow
Not just slow, you couldn't do jack shit with him either except whip. The only time you could do more with him was on poles (lol) where he blooms into his true form... and that's it because poles don't fricking move.
i also was stupid enough to donate thinking this screenshot would represent the final product, the fact that my real life name is in the credits of that shit is grim
>the fact that my real life name is in the credits of that shit is grim
Are you me? I was excited to show my friends my name being in this shit then it ended up being a 6/10
I wonder if he regrets these words now that Japanese games are on top again and "best selling" has never mattered when the profit margin is so thin and you're betting the success of your company on just one game.
Nintendo is doing the best they're ever done, Atlus has been having a lot of success in recent years, the only time Square Enix makes any money is with the 2DHD games while their AAA efforts continue to flounder, every now and then you have a random Japanese game like Nier Automata that hits meme status and everyone loves.
All the art that came from Mighty Number 9's bomb just made this comic even more hilarious in retrospect. Literally no one saw it coming. I'm sorta waiting for FNF to also be revealed as scam for even more Kickstarter tears. People need to learn the hard way that these things can flop.
Yes, Mighty Number 9 really brought out the autism in a way the TP Gamespot 8.8/10 review did for Zelda fans. In hindsight, all of the art and initial posts are hilarious, same with the drama that came along with it too.
great game
too bad it still filters 97% of Ganker
/v/'s opinions especially in the last decade have been pretty bad. Ganker just parrots what some youtuber was gaslit into believing

Me too. It was fine. Problem is I was expecting great. I learned a valuable lesson. Two in fact
Me too, like $70.
I played the demo and immediately never played the game again.
>crying like ananimefan onpromnight
Fricking based.
Even at the time I was like "why do we need more 2D Megaman though? There's like a hundred of them", and people got mad at me.

Same, think I put in $40
That concept art looked real promising, wish they just stuck with that style...

How did Kirby get formula for copying powers right while everyone else does it wrong?
Kirby has almost 30 years of experience. And the powers are easy to identify with the enemy and attacks.
In example, Chronoforce from ZXA can't be used for movement any where EXCEPT in bodies of water. Sure, you can use his time slow power, but that's it.

>Japanese games are on top again
Any uh...examples?
Zelda
Is it truly Japanese if they utilized a custom engine from an American engine?

>lossu planeh tu is le bad
Yes its more chinky, it was also a great game better than 1, and 1 was good as well.
Inafune was anti-Japanese gaming and anti-otaku. That why MN9 was nuked.
I fricking LOVED Lost planet 1 and 2, frick you Gayji Inacoomgay!!
I had a dream about Penny Blood last night.
It's healthier to pretend this was the real Mighty No. 9
A BIG ENDER
>Its already been 7 years
Feel old? It was also the year of Trump election
Wanna feel even older? Snape killed Dumbledore in 2005.
LIKE AN ANIME FAN ON PROM NIGHT
You're dumb.
Still waiting on the Vita version
speaking of megaman-like games
you think it will be good?
holy forced soul
Ahh, remember it all?
This comic made me cry like an anime fan on prom night.
>X and Zero knew all along

What's Inafune doing nowadays? I bet it's some scam company like a consultant firm or something
Hes doing some crypto shit.
I downloaded Mega Man X Dive on my phone and Mighty Number Nine is nowhere to be found, where is my meme build?
This is the game that finally killed pic-related after Inafune shills kept throwing it in threads after every delay
