It was okay. Wasnt at the same level as the first one, but somewhat better than the second. Hoping the next game will either be a remake or a prequel focusing on kessler's timeline.
Infamous 1/2 are like 9/10 top 5 percentile masterpiece games. It's a tall order to top them.
Infamous second son is an 8/10 game. It's still phenomenal but everyone just wants to compare it to its predecessors and shit on it for not reaching those same heights.
maybe it was due to the writing being infeior to the previous games. The gameplay was almost comparable except for the new movement abilities and attacks like missles required it own ammunition.
not being able to switch the different power types on the fly was a terrible decision
also unlocking the rock powers at the final boss was an even worse decision
it was too obvious that second son was suckerpunchs most rushed game
>not being able to switch the different power types on the fly was a terrible decision
Disagree. I like the way they implemented it into the environment. Added some risk/reward element to combat.
>Added some risk/reward element to combat.
it didnt, it just made other types useless the moment you got a power type that fit your playstyle
i preferred the way infamous 2 allowed you to mix and match the different styles, though i still wasnt a big fan of locking out powers based on a story choice

Same, but 2 was co-developed/consulted by Naughty Dog, so a lot of the gameplay improvements are thanks to them. I still liked SS' style of utilizing the environment to change powers.

I was switching powers all the time even during combat because it was fun. And I used digital the least because it was too OP and it trivialized everything.

my point exactly, you have to handicap yourself to make the other powers viable

No, your point was you use 1 power that fits your playstyle. I don't. I use smoke and neon and sometimes digital. No one is forcing me to use digital all the time, this is not a competitive game where I am being paid to kill the most enemies or whatever.

i concede, saying playstyle was not entirely correct, i should have said you pick digital or you handicap yourself with pointless other powers
i gave the game too much credit for having other viable powers

They are viable though, you just have to stop min/maxing in a singleplayer game.
sucker punch is very good with writing, even the sly trilogy is top notch in that regard.
is ghost of sushi good? they're the only devs i trust on open world slop
ehh >infamous 1: 7/10 >infamous 2: 7.5-8/10 >second son: 6/10 >first light: 5.5/10
it was so surreal at that time that we got 3 games that were so similar around the same time and that were all 5-6/10s, second son, sunset overdrive, and agents of mayhem
The twist and the hostage fakeout were both a bit cliche sure, but perfectly executed.
Also that first time you hit New Game was such a great cold opener for the game.
I'm honestly surprised Sony didn't port the shit out of the first two to PS4. Would have thought they'd gone all in on them. As far as I'm aware they're basically PS3 exclusives.
i doubt sucker punch will come back to infamous
second son was already a compromise from them to get their passion project funded and since GoT sold so well, sony is more likely to completely forget about infamous and support suckerpunch in making the games they want
inFAMOUS is too big of an IP to be completely forgotten. Whether it's in 2028 or 2035 they'll eventually get around to it once everyone who grew up with those games are nostalgic for it and begging for a sequel.

this time you'll play as QUEER BLACK NONBINARY FEMME
Infamous controls like absolute shit, even for a PS3 game. Main character's design and faux-edgy "style" is cringe as hell as well. Infamous 2 was better, but top game? Only if you've been a slave to the Station your entire life, maybe lol
> Main character's design and faux-edgy "style" is cringe as hell as well.
Tf are you talking about? Cole wasn't edgy. He was just a bike messenger that gotten a bad hand. His starting goal was getting the hell out of the city, then into protecting or ruling it.
They're probably saving it for the inevitable inFAMOUS 3 or inFAMOUS remake after their done with Ghosts of Tsushima.
Although I wish for infamous remake I can already see it being shit.
>race-swap trish >Make cole into a cuck >make zeke less "sexist" >Ample references to the IRL pandemic
Just give me update graphics, models, and maybe a couple of new powers please.
I admit that I prefer the first two games but second son lends itself better to a sequel. Like getting to know what happened after the new age of conduit liberation begun.
Why didn't Kessler just go back to when he decided not to fight the Beast and tell his past self that his family will die if he doesn't do it? Cole's narration flat-out says that Kessler could have stopped it
so sad that games on ps3 started going for the AC/Uncharted ultra scripted parkour when infamous 1 perfected that shit.
i replayed it recently and it's still smooth as butter while ac4 felt super clunky and annoying.
even the quests had more variety than most contemporaries
Its only fault was continuing off the good ending of 2. SP has gone on record saying they wanted to make Infamous 3 following the evil ending, but player data made them go this route. I liked SS and First Light though.
Iirc they say the "kill all super powered people" thing actually ACTIVATED some Conduits instead so the shit was never truly gone, Cole just took out all the ones that were active at the time
I enjoyed it a lot but man I hated having to absorb other power sources to switch abilities. wish they did it like megaman and made you able to switch between them at will but each still had it's own battery/tank.
It was a fun concept. Made you very versitile while not feeling like a drag. They didnt want to have the play switch powers through the menu again, so it was smart making it a more enviromental thing. >Out of smoke during a fire fight? Better swtich to neon thanks to these nearby signs.
I only played the good side as a kid, never the bad. Traded it in for a few bucks long ago.
When i was a kid my brother took me to a gamestop in the mall. I wanted GTA 4, but he didn't have his ID so i ended up getting infamous instead.
I got the game because my dad didn't want me playing assassins creed because of the M rating. Good decision tbh, saved me from ever playing Ubisoft open world games
Wouldn't john be okay with the RFI? His intentions weren't selfish since he knew that the plauge was fatal and that potential conduits were going to die if they weren't activated. He was doing his best for humanity, and it felt like he would accept the sacrifice so most of humanity will live.
To all the anons ITT, don't sleep on pic related, it was equally great and tons of fun.
the RFI wasn't a sure thing, It was definitely going to kill all the conduits but there was no guarantee it was going to cure everybody else
objectively speaking the "evil" ending is the morally correct one to make
basically it was cut your losses and save what you know you can vs trying to be greedy and potentially risking everybody by trying to save a larger number
I replayed 1&2 recently and they held up pretty well
Can't really favor one over another but I'm a sucker for New Orleans aesthetics so 2 is my favorite
Though, I was a bit disappointed with how underpowered evil Cole is in Infamous 2
Neither. Zeke was trying to protect obsolete humans and Cole was planning to activate conduits
Do people actually dislike the game? My only gripes with it were >No paper powers >Video and Concrete could be fleshed out more >Story was too short
But it was still amazing. Probably my second favorite IF game.
one of the worst decisions in all of gaming history was having you build up all your abilities and then removing them right before the final boss and giving you a new completely unleveled move set
>weak story >6 hours long >tiny map >annoying MC speaking all the time >horrible main villain ( seriously though, who thought having Bette Midler as a glowie would be a fun villain?) >cringe ass Banksy minigame
The only thing this game had going for it were the visuals. The particle effects still look cool
It was kind of generic but still serviceable imo. Maybe its the delsin-reggie dynamic that saves it idk.
main villain ( seriously though, who thought having Bette Midler as a glowie would be a fun villain?)
Hard disagree. I think everything she did at the start established her as a ruthless and competent antagonist and she only became more and more of a threat.
The part where she killed reggie and delsin went apeshit was executed perfectly.
Also the traversal is a major step up from the previous two games and makes free roaming more fun.
yes, it sold 6 million copies after 5 years and most of it came after price drops
same story as days gone, which has now sold similarly after the price drops
In terms of gameplay it's the best Sucker Punch game. Moving around and using the powers feels really good. Ghost of Tsushima was a downgrade and was boring even on hard. Second Son also isn't afraid to do a really evil edgy ending that is fitting to Delsin's downfall.
Shame it's so short. I like the atmosphere. Also the biggest mistake and something that still makes me mad is the fact the devs wanted to continue from Infamous 2's evil ending but opted out of it when the ending trophies were 80% to 20% in favor of the good karma. I hate normies so much it's unreal. Imagine the kino of the beast moving across the planet and turning one in 10 000 people to superpowered individuals as it kills the rest. Infamous 3 could take many different kino directions but instead we got this tech demo.
Kuo was also best girl, frick Nix. They really made the evil ending as good as they could.
Can't really blame them. They were just playing the game and didn't know they were helping them decide on what the next game was going to be. If it was an actual poll than yeah.
In every game the vast majority will play a goody two shoes paragon of virtue type of guy. In Mass Effect the overwhelming majority played a paragon male soldier with the template face.
i'd chalk that out to the evil paths in most games being absolute dogshit, often you just play a petty puppy kicking manchild. Mass effect could never figure out if Renegade meant "ruthless pragmatism" or "evil sociopath", while paragon was more consistent
The main antagonist was pretty memorable to me because of how unashamedly ruthless she was in order to carry out her job and how all she really wanted is to keep the peace between conduits and non-conduits.
>I am told that hurts
Augustine should've been more caring like a mother figure instead of the ruthless psychopath imo. Her goal was far removed from her batshit means.

Conduit powers are genetic, how can you have a genetic power that lets you control something man-made that doesn't exist in nature?
is it possible to have your powers activated but still be powerless, because your powers are for controlling something that hasn't been invented?
Conduit powers work on concepts that could be considered Elements i guess >smoke is a different thing from fire therefore Smoke conduits can exist >Neon is a somewhat different thing from normal light therefore Neon Conduits can exist >Data isn't just electricity therefore Data Conduits can exist

Im pretty sure they actually were gonna give you powers but they cut it at the last second
>How does this work?
Magneto with more narrow focus combining the creation of the metal and molding it initially after it's created. Perhaps no magnetic powers.
I forgot that these games came out when it was trendy to make your games look like someone had smeared marmalade across the screen. A remaster with an actual color palette would be nice.
First Prototype is one of the best open world games and yes it's pretty similar to Infamous in both story and gameplay. Ignore the series after the first one though.
i'd say gameplay wise it's even better, at least when it comes to unleashing pure carnage, but the story is kinda meh, i basically only remember the twist and nothing else
>Delsin had this divebomb attack thing >Always smirked just before the explosion >For the final fight, he just has this sad look on his face before the boom
Cool little touch.
I like its grunge asthetic, devs really love Seattle scene. Probably it was the last chance for Nirvana and Alice in chains in vidya before zoomers became the main gen
It was okay. Wasnt at the same level as the first one, but somewhat better than the second. Hoping the next game will either be a remake or a prequel focusing on kessler's timeline.

Vastly inferior to 1. 2 and SS were both kind of mid narratively imo.

2 >> 1 > SS
The new movement abilities made it fun to traverse the city but at the same time ruined the flow of combat.
sucker punch is very good with writing, even the sly trilogy is top notch in that regard.

it is on steam and often goes for 5$ on sale
My mac would overheat trying to run that game, if that's possible.
https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/games-apps/cloud-gaming/setup-cloud-gaming-apple
then cloud gaming is the next best option
I tried that with hifi rush and it played like a powerpoint.
Did you like the vampire dlc, anon?
Infamous is a good game and laid a good template for future games to follow, but Infamous 2 is the true masterpiece.
inFAMOUS 1 had WAY better storytelling although 2 is a step up in gameplay, visuals, world design, etc. It sort of balances out.
Nothing in 1 comes close to this kino.
>white man kills a black woman in cold blood
No wonder there is no remake or remaster.
The ending was great but the rest of the plot is meandering.
The twist and the hostage fakeout were both a bit cliche sure, but perfectly executed.

Cole is only a little bit edgy in INF1 in the same vein that someone like Bruce Wayne is edgy.
Cole in INF2 isn't remotely edgy.

Such a moronic way to make a decision. The majority of players will always choose good endings in games.
it's especially moronic because the good ending is "kill all super powered people"
and in second son the best they say is "well i guess they're back"
Iirc they say the "kill all super powered people" thing actually ACTIVATED some Conduits instead so the shit was never truly gone, Cole just took out all the ones that were active at the time

infamous 2 is like one of the few games whete the evil side felt worthwhile
This
i like it because many choices make sense, especially the final one. Plus zeke's final stand broke my heart when i first played it
it was kino as frick. my favorite console exclusive game (yes it moggs bloodborne, frick you npc Black folk)

Should have been longer. better the the Second Son exposition
Who was in the wrong here?
Zeke

Sucker Punch just abandoned it after First Light, they did the same thing with the Sly Cooper series.

ME Renegade is really good
>it's the best Sucker Punch game.
Yeah? I played GoT and the gameplay is a boring chore and the story is typical SPslop. Only Infamous 2 has good story AND good gameplay.
they should make infamous 4 be in an alternate reality where the evil ending was the one they went with
time travel is a thing, they could easily swing it
Infamous 4 should be cole being revived in order to take down evil delsin. Best of both worlds.
Or maybe do some cinematic universe shit with beast Cole and evil Delsin and future Cole.
They could set up their cinematic universe with infamous 3
it surely bombed so hard the entire series died
>not a single memorable character

The main antagonist was pretty memorable to me because of how unashamedly ruthless she was in order to carry out her job and how all she really wanted is to keep the peace between conduits and non-conduits.
>I am told that hurts
Augustine should've been more caring like a mother figure instead of the ruthless psychopath imo. Her goal was far removed from her batshit means.
Her psychopathic actions make the moment you find out her backstory and motives all the more compelling.

I fricking loved all of the games in this lil franchise, even that fricking flash 2d side scroller that came out with the first game.
>Second Son was ba-
it wasn't bad but it sucked
Frick yeah
Love it
Why Smoke, Data and Neon tho?
Because Fire, Water, Earth, Wind etc are too mainstream.
Earth is literally the last power you get.
Only an oddly specific form of it. Not the full package like you would usually get.
Because that shit was kino. Wish he had gotten Paper, Wire and Glass.
>Glass.
ps4 would shit itself
Can this be played on the PS5?
Yes and it's 60fps on PS5
No cloud shit?
Nope, you just have to buy the game. It worked on my PS4 copy.
What are the odds of Sly Cooper ever coming back?
Reminder this game's collector edition had condoms that were glowing in the dark like the neon powers.
I thought it was decent but I know I would have loved it as a kid. As a kid I loved those open world games where your an over powered super sayan type that has fast movement options and could zip around the city with fun traversal.
i get the same vibe from forspoken, if you can overlook all the cringe
while it was cliché, the way they handle the reveal about Kessler blew my middle schooler mind.
KINO

Some cut powers that never made it into the game (Wire & glass)

Who would your sidekick be? Piss conduit is too easy.
Gas Conduit
>paper conduit
You guys forgot her already?

Yeah basically
Idk, trying to do a Tekken Spinning Demon by sliding on soap maybe
>How does this work?
Magneto with more narrow focus combining the creation of the metal and molding it initially after it's created. Perhaps no magnetic powers.
Toughts on Concept Art Delsin?
Looked way too convoluted, but also kinda cool. Would’ve fit a different style infamous game, like a post apocalyptic one.
The only thing I loved and hated about this shit was the ending evil route where protag gets door blocked and so he goes openheimer made me kek
Then there's that female character frick that prostitute
That's awkward
>that one ending when his family says they don't want to see him ever again
>He instantly makes that a reality.
I nutted.
I forgot that these games came out when it was trendy to make your games look like someone had smeared marmalade across the screen. A remaster with an actual color palette would be nice.
It adds to the post-apocalyptic gritty feeling of the game
Infamous 2 is colorful though.
isn't Prototype similar? Is it worth playing?
First Prototype is one of the best open world games and yes it's pretty similar to Infamous in both story and gameplay. Ignore the series after the first one though.
Prototype is so good. Cape shit could have been much much better.
i'd say gameplay wise it's even better, at least when it comes to unleashing pure carnage, but the story is kinda meh, i basically only remember the twist and nothing else
>activating the RFI will lock your karma to "infamous" and results in black/red powers
kino
>Delsin had this divebomb attack thing
>Always smirked just before the explosion
>For the final fight, he just has this sad look on his face before the boom
Cool little touch.
I like its grunge asthetic, devs really love Seattle scene. Probably it was the last chance for Nirvana and Alice in chains in vidya before zoomers became the main gen
What kind of powers would you love to see in Infamous 3? Do you think SS had thematically cool powers?
