They always undercook the characters they use for these promos and play slowly. I'm not worried about the game playing slow because you can always just play faster.
I AM worried about dodge rolls and low attack speed. There's a lot of good changes here but I think they're fundamentally making the game not for me.

I don't see what's wrong with dodge roll when you can't even play the game currently without having some sort of movement skill equipped and the characters they showed have no attack speed at all so of course they're gonna attack slow.
If you look at the streamers playing the game, the monster density is much lower. You get monsters frequently but they come in packs of 1-5 at most and getting more than 10 monsters in the screen seems to be suicide. What this means is we're getting an isometric souls game where you dodge roll behind large monsters and time your attack animations correctly.
If they can keep it a playable game without turning the entire screen into some sort of unplayable bullet hell, sure, otherwise it's PoE 1 all over again.
Also, get rid of the clutter of useless items and different stats for the same items.
Nobody need to p2w stash pages, putting out broken shit and selling the in-game solution is predatory.
These two simple things will not make them money but it will save me time and make me play their game, otherwise I won't play and I will speak poorly of it, for free, for having the same problem as the first game has.

They just randomized the loot drops because when the loot was tied to specific Rare monster mods, people started skipping Rare monsters that they knew had shitty loot inside. You drop a random item and there is hundreds of items to adjust that item until it becomes exactly what you want, instead of that, a single stat for an item would be better.
Example: this item can be 400defense or 1000 defense, make it either 1000 or 400 defense all the time, instead of 401 or 999 and then rolling with currency until it becomes 400 and 1000.

PoE 2 characters all share the same passive tree. monk and shadow start in the same spot, etc. The differences are in ascendancy classes and the pseudo gem tree they showed which lets you automatically unlock themed skill gems but still find or buy gems that are off-theme.

1/3 of new PoE 2 monsters in the gameplay were just PoE 1 monsters with new textures and new animations. They're doing the same shit Elden Ring was doing and just grab old monsters from their old games and give them a new coat of paint and skillsets. Ziz video in the jungle had the giant grabs from PoE1 Act 6 with new roll attack, good old Blood Monkeys from Act 2, Vaal Temple had the golems from Delve, Mathils prison area had Sanctums giant zombies.

I quit the game on a occultist roll during crucible, probably 150 hours in, I rushed the campaign and went straight to maps, I was doing t12 and t14 maps when I quit.
I followed a damage-over-time build I copied on the internet.
I couldn't go as fast as other people that basically ran through exploding every thing on the screen, I killed shit, but I couldn't see shit at some point, I was always behind, when I played alone I could solo t10, when I tried to go higher I got off-screened by random shit even with max resists, defensives, all set right.
So much worse than paying 70 bucks for an "MMO" that bricks your PC when another player walks in your screen because he has items in his stash tabs.

It looks literally like the ARPG I've been wanting my whole life. PoE sucks. Diablo 2 3 and 4 suck. Diablo 1 was the only good one.
PoE2 is basically top down Dark Souls with procedural generated items and maps and shit.

Their item and spell descriptions are still autistic and nonsensical, their economy is all broken, they have one-button gameplay where you only ever use one spell and your entire build is around one spell. They fixed none of that throughout the entire lifespan of Poe1. But Poe2 will be the great soulslike action rpg you always wanted, sure bro. Suddenly all the devs at GGG are swapped out for people who give a shit and life is good all of a sudden

Anon it's only a closed beta. They still need closed beta 2, open beta 1, open beta 2 and supporter early access before release.
June 2024 - Closed beta 1
September 2024 - Closed beta 2
December 2024 - Open beta 1
March 2025 - 7 day early access, then full release
PoE 3.0 (10 Acts) patch was closed beta for the entire beta cycle of 6 months.
I think the game looked cool.
Gameplay looked like shit. That said, things might change when people get to try the beta and make proper builds.
