I don't own a single "legitimate" card. I proxy everything and there is nothing you can do about it.
New TCG? I got every card.
Extremely value rare that cost hundreds? I got the full set.
TCGs are so much better when you just proxy everything. You can play every game with your friends and have awesome cubes for drafting.

Amen to that. I need to get a card printer for Christmas because this shit is stupidly expensive for cardboard.
Anyone who spends a dime on WotC cardboard is a massive cuck.
why is aragorn black
Hey google,
>what is gaslighting?
>what is mid level violence?
>what is a luxury belief?
That's Arwen, you racist transphobe.
Because the destruction of symbols is of utmost importance to the despot.
It's really obvious to the point that they don't even bother denying it anymore. My only hope is that the vermin who denied and denied it until they were blue in the face with their idiot fingers in their idiot ears when I told them this was going to happen now realize the gravity of their error, and the FACT that their childishness, unwillingness to accept the reality of the Agenda, and pettiness against anyone who warned them was instrumental to their victory.
There's no going back. There's no magic words to bring everyone back to their senses. You gave moral authority to people who hate you and your entire race, like a cuckold, and now they will gloat and dab on you as they erase you systematically from everything you hold dear, even your history.
Correct
>Kayla bix-Nood
A little on the nose, isn't it?
imagine how assmad you have to be to make this pic
I still think the better move would be to not play at all and encourage others to drop it as well, but if you're going to play, why leave the game up to who can spend the most money or collect the most cards? Proxy that shit.
Magic is fun if you don't use anything past the israeli takeover of the west after their mass media humiliation ritual in 2001
Nah, I enjoy card games. I support my local LGS by entering events and buying card sleeves and accessories like dice. I prefer mostly kitchen table games though.
A friend of mine got legit upset when I talked about everyone start using proxies in our table, saying how this isn't fair with those who collect them for years.
Tell your friend that the game is the point, not the act of consumerism. If he thinks he deserves to have an an advantage because he wasted more money, he's a homosexual.
I would but I just found a new table and I don't wanna be kicked that soon
Proxy OP here. If someone doesn't want to play with your proxies it means they want to battle your wallet, not your skills. Just whip out your debit card and ask him for a duel.
Based?
>Tell your friend that the game is the point, not the act of consumerism. If he thinks he deserves to have an an advantage because he wasted more money, he's a homosexual.
Based. OP is not a homosexual for once
Hey that's cool anon, I'm happy for you. Wanna play some Modern?
Sure. I have every card imaginable. I play brews and "competitive" decks. Players choice. I got a pretty cool rat tribal deck.
That's fine. That was always allowed.
I do wonder how long these games would last if absolutely everyone proxies, though. Especially the smaller, newer games. Trying them out through proxies is one thing, but if you don't support them at some point, they will be forced to cancel them. Then don't come here crying when MTG, Yugioh and Pokémon are the only games available.
Yeah. Movies and television died once torrenting took off. I can't remember the last time a movie came out. Poor WotC on the verge of bankruptcy. I hope hasbro can sell enough barbies to keep MTG from sinking the company.
Someone pays the tab in the end. Not just through buying the primary product either. Related merchandise sales also pick up some of the slack. Hollywood studios and big companies like Hasbro can afford to make deals and diversify their income like that.
If we are talking WotC specifically, they probably have done more than enough to justify some lost sales.
But the whales will keep buying the Secret Lairs and Universes Beyond and all the other crap you hate. So that is what they will keep making. If you don't buy the products you like, even after proxying them, trying them out and deciding you like them, then they simply won't make them.
If you don't like them, then fair enough, but why do you keep playing a game you don't like? Why even bother proxying?
And again, the smaller, up-and-coming card games cannot afford that loss.
I am not saying you are obligated to buy things you don't like. I am saying if you like the products you have proxied, consider supporting them. Otherwise, for one reason or another, they won't be made.
I never said I didn't like Magic. It's the best card game out there. I'll still proxy though. If they stopped making cards I can just create my own with friends
That is why you smell
I didn't suggest you hate all of Magic. But many people cite things like secret lair and UB as reasons not to support Magic. That does not necessarily apply to you, of course. I just assumed that you must have taken some umbrage with WotC if you were proxying rather than buying.
Is it really just that you feel entitled to these things for free? Would you actually be satisfied if all of the card games died and it was up to ypu and your friends to make them yourselves?
Poker seems to be doing just fine with all the companies out there producing different variety of decks. If magic died then other companies would print new things out of passion for the game. See that cyberpunk card game.
Printing with card stock and buying proxies.
Those companies do not have to invent new poker cards. They are printing the same old suits every time.
New Magic sets have to be designed and (allegedly according to WotC) playtested. New art has to be commissioned and the artists paid.
Your analogy would only work if WotC had only been reprinting Alpha for 30 years.
why would i support a company, that makes aragon a jogger?
If you don't like the product, don't buy it.
My contention is with people who do like the product and still refuse to buy it. Why do they feel they are entitled to it for free?
i hope magic dies, because they make the card game version of fortnite with blacks and ponies and shrek and tiktok. i hope every single employee and CEO gets aids and their whole family gets raped in los angeles hell hole.
Amen.
And yet with the same suite of cards people create new games all the time. If WotC went under there is still endless amount of games we can create. Just look what MTGO has done for the game with things like pauper and penny dreadful. Unique games like dan-dan. We don't NEED new cards at all. Hell, if you're a EDH fan you can go play PDH and have a whole new fricking world open up that is even more unique than EDH
Well, if you are happy with there being no new cards then have at it.
I doubt many will bother to make any new TCGs if they know the audience will just proxy them, though. With all the passion in the world, you would not be able to keep designing and printing cards at a loss forever. And it will be hard to convince others to invest in that business.
Or are you advocating that game makers sell PDFs of print sheets instead of attempting to print cards for booster packs? Do you think anyone should ever be able to sell a card game again. Or are you saying TCGs should just stop? No more. We have enough.
Do you need new cards forever? Do you think that spending endlessly on a game and being a hopeless paypig is somehow noble and virtuous?
I don't buy everything. I buy the things I like. In principle, at least, that should encourage more of what I like to be made.
It's not binary. Buy everything or buy nothing. You can pick and choose.
TCGs live or die on the release of new cards and new ideas. No company can afford to develop and print new cards if no one buys them.
But we seem to to be going in circles now. We simply disagree. Your logic is at least internally consistent, but I suspect were it actually to come to pass that new cards stopped being made you would eventually complain about the lack of novelty.
That is what pay pigs believe. There is endless games being created with magic the gathering without using new cards. There are tens of thousands of cards. These pay pigs are addicted to the power creep to their sunken thousands of dollars in modern and commander. They don't even realize they are being taken for a ride. TCGs are degenerate in their practices and there is no reason why there shouldn't just be an easy product to buy the full set of an expansion for one low cost. Secondary markets and forced rarity is DUMB. It's not a serious game when you're battling with wallets.
>oink oink
FTFY. The moment a game stops being indie, you stop supporting it. Support creators, not corporations.
>support corporations
>support creators
no to both of you morons
>b-b-but then all art will die
not even you believe that
>b-b-but then artists will starve
Black folk starve all the time, what's your point?
>b-b-but then all GOOD art will die
"good" art is already dead, just look at every single modern art exhibit
here is something that (you) can respond to: TOTAL ART DEATH
Alright zoomer
They would find a new way of making money that doesn't depend on a government given monopoly grant. New ideas and inventions were created and were profitable before the invention of copyright, and there is no proof that copyright has lead to the creation of more ideas.
MTG could still make a lot of money if using proxies for play was the norm. The little good will that they have would create demand for authentic cards even if everyone had many high quality proxies. They could also make money by creating sets but only releasing them publicly once a certain amount of packs have been preordered, so people who only play with proxies are motivated to buy the sets to get access to the cards sooner. There are a lot of other options, but companies have become dependant on copyright.
Same applies to smaller developers too, in fact, many of them already use a subscription model since they aren't able to take advantage of IP law when they're so small anyways. Small developers have a lot to gain in a world without copyright, since that would mean they can make a name for themselves and profit off of creating third party material for existing games more freely.
>CCG's funded by ad revenue
People like you are why we gatekeep
How do you proxy them? Simple paper and sleeves?
>proxying basic lands
Gross. I have seen people do this IRL as well, and there is something fundamentally broken about the people that proxy basic lands. The effort it takes to make/buy/order the proxy isn't worth the fraction of a cent it takes to buy one, and I can only conclude you don't care about the game or your own time, and you only attempt to get a rise out of people.
>Don't value my time
>Says the guy that uses wages that he traded his time to purchase said items with
Yeah. Which one of us doesn't value our time again?
Well, it still looks like you are quite unhappy with your life when you have to spam /tg/ about using proxies. Wish you find something that gives you satisfaction and peace some day, Anon!
I just don't play "trading" card games that are designed to be mere veneer to milking paypigs, but hey, different tastes I guess.
Play Wonderlnd TCG, releasing soon!
>Duuude I can't play magic with the cards I have to have the best and most expensive cards
>cards shouldn't cost more than 0.25 cents each they're just GAME PIECES LMAO
Yes. If I do not have valuable cards, my friends have established decks that will crush me. This is why I've never played magic.
I am sorry, you are only allowed a certain number of commons, rares, and etcetera.
Then you have to win more from other players, or the DARK LORD
Why is he a Black person?
