>magic buffs stats
what's hard about it?
What is SumMag
I feel like I should buy the old strategy guide
Gf summon attack boost
But I don't have one...
No. You have 16
you forgot Odin/gilgamesh, but you can't junction them
Dont give EVERYthing away, c'mon neow
>Making the game hard
People who play with no leveling are cowards. This is the one game that rewards you for no level runs.
>no leveling is for cowards
>rewards for no leveling
..... ?
Enemies are much weaker if you don't level as they scale with you. A lot of them gain new attacks and become much harder as well.
Then say it like that next time
I mean everyone who’s played FFVIII game knows this
Except first timers
Wellll i spose they do now since theres guides and walkthroughs all over
What was FF8's top tier summon again? It's been so long.
>What was FF8's top tier summon again? It's been so long.
Eden.
Thanks anon
Zantetsuken
I never understood why they decided Ramuh skipped FF8
Too human
>FF7 focus on traditional FF-ish designs in 3d
>FF8 director wanted the summons to be more bestial in nature, to reflect their status as a GF/fairy spirit instead of some god you can summon
>FF9 be like "Lel, dudes"
>FF10 really wanted to capture that East Asian religious aesthetic
What part of FF7 designs was more traditional than 9?
I just said they wanted to translate them to 3D for the first time
Admittedly I never really played FF9 but most of the summons I've seen are just dudes + 1 girl
of course you have. otherwise you wouldnt be able to fricking junction in the first place.
Isn't there a button that lets you highlight and describe every stat? Or was it just a list you could find at the school?
Some magic works better for different stats
Not every gf will enable the same stats
As a basic example
Shiva and Ifrit boost attack and defense
Quetzacotl and siren boost magic and magic defense
Diablos for speed
And so on. But those 5 are your starters. Lvl 15 oughta be good enough to fight Diablos
>Not fighting diablos minute one using Zell's gigachad energy
it's so fun I would never recommend waiting on the diablos battle
You don't even need to draw, you can just engage in the best set of minigames put to Final Fantasy, carding monsters and triple triad
Junctioning would have been perfect if magic was a bit stronger and wasn't a consumable/used mp instead.
Each one would have a static value for each stat and you would need to choose whether to equip a spell as a gear or put it in your spell pool.
>Use draw to collect spells up to 99 copies of a spell
>junction that spell to a stat, increasing that stat
>different spell give bigger or smaller increase depending on the spell (for example cure give a big boost to HP)
>the stats you can junction into depends on what GF you have equipped
what to do if no gf?
Install Tinder or alternatively go to Ifrit cave
Ask young teacher for two
you put magic on a stat the numbers go up, that's it, that's all there is, some magic is better than others for a stat what's not to understand here?
Need GF
fight fish on the beach by balamb garden until you learn the skill to turn enemies into cards
keep fighting fish until you learn the ability to turn items into magic and cards into magic, but instead of killing the fish turn them into cards now
play cards in balamb garden for a while
turn the windmill cards into tornado magic and the worm cards into quakes
buy some cottages and turn them into curagas
junction tornado to speed, quake to strength, and curaga to hp
rub cid's lamp and beat diablo
learn his skill to turn off encounters
you are now playing a tripe triad based rpg where you occasionally have boss battles that you beat with a single limit break
that sounds boring and awful, but enough about ff8.
it's inadvertently the most experimental final fantasy
there's basically no reason to draw from enemies except from bosses to get new gfs even if you aren't doing a yugioh run. if you need magic it's always better to turn items into spells.
Triple triad is a gift from god, one of the few facets of ff8 redeeming the schizophrenic plotlines and bizarre leveling choice
Based and Triple Triadpilled.
How the frick did Squaresoft manage to make a perfect game?
AND WHY THE FRICK DID THEY NEVER PUT IT ON ANOTHER RELEVANT GAME EVER AGAIN?
They did
They just ruined it in FF9's form
FF10 and onwards basically had no minigames that didn't directly take part in the game world somehow
I got really autistic with Blitz Ball at one point. It was a fricking problem.
>AND WHY THE FRICK DID THEY NEVER PUT IT ON ANOTHER RELEVANT GAME EVER AGAIN?
Can't you play it in xiv?
Is there any reason NOT to just summon for every single attack? I just started playing it for the first time and summons seem, like, broken. They're stronger than regular attacks, I'm at no risk when I'm using them, and they don't take any resources. What am I missing?
Incredibly time inefficient.
This guy gets it you can easily do more damage without having to sit through long ass summon animations.
The more a character summons them, the stronger the bond. The stronger the bond, the stronger and tougher the gf becomes. Quicker to summon, stronger to hit, tougher to ko
>slow
>they facetank for you
>elemental damage
>summon affinity
Like the other guys put it, shit is slow as hell, you'll probably get your damage off faster using actual moves like magic, attack, or cheesing your HP lower to get your limits off. If you're in danger and you know a big attack is coming though then it's good to try to use one as a shield, you'll get better summons later anyway
Attacks do just as much if not more damage and with haste you get more turns. When you get aura or are confident enough to play at low HP limit breaks can do 6 digits of damage.
It's slow, this game is insanely easy to break because the junction system is broken. Outside of the Dollet Mission, you never really need summons. And even there, it's just so that you can break the game with Seifer.
I beat this game when I was 13.
Nice you understood how to read well explained tutorials and how to use junction
There's a non-zero chance most Ganker posters are 13, anon.
Ok?
I beat Castlevania 3 when I was 6
>lost the ifrit card
>have to reload before the fricking mech crawler
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I DIDN'T SAVE AFTER THE FRICKING ENTIRE GOD DAMN TOWER FIGHT
FRICKIGF}SA
}KFJO}SEGDJ}JI{"
Just challenge them again and get it back.
It was my strongest card
It's weak on one side, at least. Dont let them put it in a corner
get the quistis card from her fan club in balamb garden and the zell card from his mom and you should be good for a while
