Now the thing that is really really good is the choice of simple Colt designs here. Better than the overdesigned pistols of the past.

Just the equivalent of what she looked like back then, which was enough to pop veins in the foreheads of women with the amount of anger she created. So, picrelated but not half naked. Not 100% exactly like that, but in that direction. Also don't pose her as a man, don't make her look angry, or "determined" or "tough" because that stuff doesn't work with female characters the same way it looks with male characters.
If you're designing Lara Croft and you don't make her look ridiculously good and almost unreal, then what's the point in designing fictional characters? just scan a rando off the street, throw some clothes on her and prepare for the game to bomb yet again, or at least perform below expectations.
This sort of discussions should have happened behind closed doors but probably nobody had enough balls to stand up and say it like it is. The whole character is built around the male fantasy of a supermodel with amazing athletic capabilities shooting dudes left and right while her forms and breasts threaten to jump out of her clothes. The only positive out of that image is that she has the iconic getup back , the pistols and isn't ugly like the one in CoD. If you have women designing the game and character, you've already bombed, you don't need to bother to release the game.
