>Nintendo has never had a large and beefy console, the N64 was medium sized and lightweight
The Gamecube was stronger than the PS2, Resident Evil 4 is one of the best looking games of that generation. The purple lunchbox was unironically BEEF.
Why? Nintendo is just not interested in keeping up with the rat race that is the playstation/xbox/pc. They always keep themselves just below the benchmark of power while coming up with a gimmick. Which means they only have to compete with themselves.
>Do people even use the handheld mode the switch when they are at home?
Yeah, I use it as a mix pretty frequently
Especially for RPGs when I'm doing quests between bouts of assignments at work
Will never happen again. People willfully ignore the fact that they're a decade behind in terms of online services because the weak cheap hardware makes them look like an underdog
Me too, OP. But after the failure of the Wii U and the success of the Switch there's no way Nintendo ain't playing it safe. Best you'll get is a Switch 2 in a few years. Maybe 10-15 years from now we'll get another proper home console.
Sometimes nintendo makes those
If they ever sold any well, you'd get more. But the Game Cube sold like shit and so you get gimmick instead (especially since Nintendo would basically have to risk bankruptcy to sell a PS5-level console)
There's no incentive to. PCs and phones slaughtered consoles, and there's only room for one beefy home console in most people's househoulds. But there might be some room left over for a cheaper handheld hybrid.
And I want a proper handheld console from nintendo
I want gimmicks thar justify the console's existence.
Remember the Wii U? Kek, though I personally thought the Wii was fun. I didn't own a Wii U.
i bought a wiiu for the sole purpose of playing XCX
I WANT A NEW SEGA HOME CONSOLE
Soul
You will buy the handheld and you will rike it

If only the disc capacity wasn't shit.
I want a large beefy
Yes. But if I don't get it I'll be more than happy to keep pirating their games instead.
Nintendo gave up on home consoles, just like Sega.

no i just want a normal nintendo console with a quirk and NO LITHIUM FRICKING BATTERIES
Do people even use the handheld mode the switch when they are at home?
that is true but i kinda feel like they hit their peak with the swith. like where do you even god from there?
>Do people even use the handheld mode the switch when they are at home?
I use my switch exclusively in handheld mode and exclusively at home.
>Do people even use the handheld mode the switch when they are at home?
Yeah, I use it as a mix pretty frequently

Tons of people do. It's been a while, but the stats showed you either use handheld 90% of the time, or you stay docked 90% of the time.
>just below the benchmark of power
the Switch wasn't even that when compared to contemporary smartphone SoCs in 2017, never mind today
You will get a cheaply made device and you will like it.

Yes, the Switch is underpowered. A console with modern hardware is needed.
>donut steel the redditfrog
have a nice day
you didn't buy the gamecube so enjoy the switch
there already is one
Tendie gaming is for normies and women so you will get a handheld
Every time Nintendo makes a beefy console nobody buys it.
