I have a 3080 and I mainly play old games. Unless you want to experience latest triple A slop at 144 hz, a 1070 is good enough for 1080 60 fps for even the new games

If you're mostly playing console shit and still use 60hz you can probably keep trucking on the 7700k for a while
You don't have to but CPUs are relatively cheap now. You will need to upgrade your mobo if you upgrade your CPU but those are cheap too and you can probably get a cpu/mobo bundle at a heavy discount.

It's called your graphics switching from high performance to iGPU because you set it to "auto" instead of just using High Performance all the time
i just did from the exact same EVGA model to a 4070TI Super and holy frick the jump in quality and comfort is incredible, it's like video games can be fun again
