I mean I don’t think it deserves the seething hatred it gets, but the clunkiness of the combat and movement compared to 1 makes me just want to replay 1. ADP was a fine risk it just didn’t work out as well as it does without it.
I will also say it was by far the easiest modern from game. The only boss I had any trouble with in the base game was gargoyles. Some dlcs can give trouble but all in all it’s nothing compared to 3, BB, or Sekiro.

3 is dark souls greatest hits when all I wanted was a new album. It’s why sekiro, elden ring and bloodborne blow the dark souls sequels out of the water. 2 tried something new and failed, but I respect that more than not trying.
