I enjoyed the original Dragon Ball, never watched Dragon Ball Z. Will i enjoy this? Wouldnt play it for the RPG / ARPG aspects, more for the comfy setting.

Anon this game is grindy as frick. It’s a decent time and it covers Z nice enough with tons of nods to OG DB but you will have to do side quests and grind to level up characters because even if you’re 5 levels under fights become a fricking slog if you’re not on easy.

Ignore the israelites telling you it's "a shit adaption" and that it has "boring combat".
It adapts a surprisingly large of story for a game of this type, the side quests have funny interactions but are mostly braindead usually ending with a fight and the combat while not complex is fun and what you'd expect from a DRagon Ball game. You can do all the cool shit DB characters can do, fights go by pretty fast and there is actually not much grinding since you start headbutting enemies and killing them on the overworld without even fighting them. Plus if you get the DLC it offers a very easy way to level up to the max (which i wouldn't recommend doing as it ruins the game.)
So if you're a DB fan go for it. I spend a good 70 hours on the game including its DLC and while it wasn't anything amazing, it was fun and I was actually kinda sad I finished it because it was a really enjoyable time. Even doing side quests, flying around, fighting shit while listening to music was comfy as frick.

Granny Goku grows on you. The first time I heard anything dragonball with jap voices was dbz kai and I hated it. By the time super aired I was fine with it
troonyGoku is enough to make me discard it completely. Funimation never fricked up THIS bad with DBZ VAs.
I think I prefer Sean Goku. Though Nozowa does a better Black. Frieza is also infinitely better in jap. Sabats modern stuff is way weaker than his older work, so I prefer jap Vegeta and piccolo in super.
Krillin is also way worse in jap since he sounds like a fat man baby.
Funimation Sissyza having a troony voice is actually why it's so perfect.
