Played mostly 012, mained in this order >Cecil >Terra >Zidane >Vaan >Ultimecia >Gabranth >Lightning
Sank way too much time into this game, but the last two ones were particularly fun to play.

Dissidia is my comfort game.
I play it as a fighting game, barely touched the story mode, and yet I have hundreds of hours in the vs mode.
Yes, player vs CPU because no one else I know plays it.
Empyreal Paradox
Max strength, level 100
No equipment, no summons
Custom rule to increase the EX force to compensate the lack of accessories
Zidane is fine the way he is. Great aerial fighter and good bravery to HP attacks. He also suffers from the same problem as lightning that his initial HP attacks are trash but once you level him up it's a breeze
Zidane does too little bravery damage, he's probably tied with Onion Knight for the worst bravery game.
I like to break my opponents for the sweet bravery bonus and safe recover, doing a bunch of small HP damage just doesn't seem right to me.
He's also somewhat bad at doing wall rush too, so assist combos are a bit awkward with him, but this is not too big of an issue.
Bravery to HP is nice, but not as special as it was in the original Dissidia, since in Duodecim you can just smash your opponent on the wall, call the assistant and then do your HP attack.
I'll give you this, I was too harsh grouping Zidane with Onion Knight and Laguna. His damage is still low, but his moveset is sweet, different from Onion Knight who is weak and lacks options.
That's just personal preference anon, not a power tier list.
The reason I'm ranking Exdeath and The Emperor so low is because they encourage slow battles that can go on for several minutes.
Ultimecia is also one of those characters, I'm just ranking her slightly higher because her battle plan is straightforward projectile spam, that happens to be effective at long range, not a gimmick of baiting the opponent into a trap/counter.
I love Dissidia Duodecim but it's a fighting game with stats, not an RPG.
How Square thought what we wanted as the third game was the game we got, I don't understand.
I used Jecht in the original and then shifted exclusively to WoL, Lightning, and Onion Knight in 012. Primarily WoL.
They were chasing MBON money.

I love/hate Dissidia. I'm bad enough at fighting games as is and the "RPG Mode" control scheme is horrifically awkward. But it did give us badass interpretations of Garland and the Emperor, so I at least respect it. >who'd you main

Still mad that NT killed the IP. If we go back to the PSP style, I want these new characters:

Minwu, I don't think we've got a White Mage-styled character yet so it could provide some interesting moves >III - Chaos
Xande, I feel like they could take some cues from his XIV alliance raid fight and cloning plot >IV - Cosmos
Rydia, we desperately need a whip-user and she has magic and summons too >V - Cosmos
Faris, to contrast with Bartz's jobs, have her focus on her pirate gimmick with Syldra HP attacks >VI - Cosmos
Edgar, god I want to play his machinist kit so bad especially after playing it in XIV >VII - Cosmos
Aerith was already kind of in Duodecim and I like how they built her for Remake/Rebirth so let's go with that. Otherwise Rufus for the same reason >VIII - Chaos
Seifer has to be in, and since Squall doesn't really do the draw/junction thing much in his kit maybe it could work here somehow >IX - Cosmos
Vivi with a gimmick based on charging Focus to increase his spell levels i.e. Fire -> Fire -> Firaga. Would be very dangerous if allowed to gain momentum >X - Chaos
Seymour, he has to be the dark foil to Yuna like Jecht is to Tidus. Based Anima has to be omnipresent >XI

Balthier and Edgar might be too much overlap, so let's go with Fran. An archer would be nice >XIII - Chaos

Give Minwu Ultima for an EX-Burst since Ultima is a white magic spell in II's lore call his EX-mode Soul of Rebirth and have its effects be somthing like casting Protect, Shell and Haste on Minwu

If in the right hands, Exdeath is insanely, moronicly OP. The best players are Exdeath players because the shit you can make him do is just stupid.
Actually the best player in the world was an EX Revenge Garland player.

Really hate that I missed on playing this online with that hamachi network or whatever it was called.
At that time getting an emulator to run was my highest computer competence skill.
