I thought the side quests could get a bit boring at times, but it’s probably my goty so far. The boss battles were really well done imo and they more than made up for the slower bits
I really enjoyed it, but I'm having a bit of difficulty working up the motivation to continue. I'm at the part where Odin kidnapped Jill, and you're about to board his ship. How much more game do I have left? I don't want to leave it and come back, because I'll have to relearn how to play the game, and try to remember what's going on in the plot.
I feel like on Ganker at least the people shitting on FF16 to such a degree belong to one of four camps >People desperate for a new TORtanic and do this for every AAA release that comes out (haven't played the game) >People who just want to own the snoys and shit on it for being a PS5 game (haven't played the game) >Barry (hasn't played the game) >A relatively small amount of people who actually have played the game and think it's flaws are enough to make it a bad game
Like I said there are a lot of understandable things that can make people not like the game. I get it. I also have my takes on what are the things that should have been or whatever.
But yes this place exaggerates on the level you'd think they've been hurt and abused by a game to the point where it's their life mission to take it down.
Cid DLC sounds the most plausible because it's most likely going to give us more Barny and Bendikta, as well as the Cid vs Dion fight (where we can finally witness semi-primed Dion).
Clive isn't dead, but I think perfect DLC would be with Cid as a main character.
You get his past and relationship with Benedicta, you can add in his scuffles with Dion and how he get to know Ultima. And hearing Cid's voice actor again would be great too
Main issues difficulty is too easy, add hard from the start and actually give people the option rather than being a smart-ass about putting it behind NG+.
0 zero party tuning, yes clive is OP but even NuGow lets you skill out the boy even if he isnt with you all of the time, why couldn't they do that with torgal? Or at least let you customize his AI so people don't feel the need to use his auto accessory.
It should have had another class, maybe cids fighting style after the timeskip or dragoon learning quests from dion or something.
Side quests are a beaten horse at this point
>why couldn't they do that with torgal? Or at least let you customize his AI so people don't feel the need to use his auto accessory.
I'm using precision sics all the time without accessories
I remember Ganker saying 7R was le worst game ever made and I ended up loving it. I don't expect this to be as good as 7R but I'll probably enjoy it when it comes to PC
I'm enjoying NG+ but idk if I have it in me to do the whole shebang over again, another 45-50 hrs if i keep it to essential stuff (skipping most dialogue and weaker side missions). The difficulty bump is amazing and makes the combat really shine, and matter, but after the initial 75 hrs and now another 10 or so i'm starting to get a little bored.
The ending of for me is bad. But that's me. I played the base game and that's what I will compared to XVI.
The only reason people are even creaming over it is because of the final campfire scene. It's so popular especially for female players. I've never heard one of them say anything else about the game except for that scene.
the campfire scene is pretty good so i understand that
but the scene of noctis sacrificing and then essentially doing a knights of the roundtable attack was really cool, so that's what stuck with me
i'd also say that the daylight returning to the world was more impactful in comparison to the 16 one because of how in 15, it was actually dark and not just light purple
Its my goty but I can toally understand why people think its a 7/10 or dont like it. It has problems, and its become clear to me CBU3 has some fundamental issues with their dev skills since the same issues are present in XIV too.
>clear to me CBU3 has some fundamental issues with their dev skills
I think it's because they concentrated hard on what they were good at.
But now they have a big idea on what to do next.
I really think they aren't the ones that will do XVII since almost every FF goes to different teams, but whoever team will do XVII has a base idea now on what works in this modern world.
Really for me XVII could just be XVI with an actual party and more big explorable towns and areas, and bring back the status effects and character building aspect I'm sold on that already.
Even tho 16 is far from being perfect, I think CBU3 should do FF17 because they already have a good engine and base, and they just need to read feedback and just correct their mistakes from 16 while making 17.
I did too, but i still have some complaints and alot of nitpicks
For example, i'm annoyed that they used the teen model in the first byron cutscene and torgal tree house cutscene instead of the kid one from the ending
Besides Diamond Dust, I slept on Shiva during the first playthrough, as I didn't care for the other powers. But I'm only now I'm finding just how good her main freeze-on-dodge thing is, its become essential in getting Dancing Swords off in Ng+
Any Ramuheads here? Got any fun builds or techniques with him? That's the one moveset I haven't been able to vibe with.
Yeah i did too, Titan was too good to pass up and I wasn't dropping Garuda or Phoenix
Ramuh's blind justice can be a nice combo with aerial blast, but I hate how much space that tornado covers up so I'm not using it. Other than that, lightning rod combos well with pretty much anything
Besides the obvious lightning rod combos to shit out damage, I’ve been loving thunderbolt for juggling or sustained damage. I usually use gungnir to set it up or any charged swing + rift slip.
thanks anons
I never liked most of Ramuh's skills. Then again I might be a moron because I see lots of people saying how good Odin is and to me it always felt like I was doing twice the work for half the payoff.
It took me a minute to get Odin down pat but Rift Slip + Dancing Steel, with all the attendant gear, gets the level 5 off really quickly with substantial damage.

Coming up on 2 months after release and I still can't get the heroic part of the hunt music out of my head, might be my favourite vidya ost in a long time.
Playing BG3 at the moment and I wish I could mod in FF battle themes when combat starts.

Who calm down shill its not even 10 replies yet.
Troglodytes like you are killing discourse
In a year of 10/10 games, XVI was a disappointment. Easily the worst game I played this year.
>In a year of 10/10 games
More like 6/10 games
goty for me
wasted characters
I really enjoyed it, but I'm having a bit of difficulty working up the motivation to continue. I'm at the part where Odin kidnapped Jill, and you're about to board his ship. you're about 75% done
You’re near the end, it won’t take you too long to finish. You do have a lot of side quests to do if you care about those though
I did too. Was a comfy game for me since I took 2 weeks break.
I understand people not liking it. But well you know what this place is like.
I feel like on Ganker at least the people shitting on FF16 to such a degree belong to one of four camps

I beat the game and I wish that the big towns were at least explorable instead of being backdrops or setpieces
i was really expecting you to be able to explore a small portion of each major cities, like how rosalith castle was a small portion of rosalith
Same, extremely disappointed this wasn't the case. I thought "ah this these shitty towns are just backdrops for the bigger cities to explore!"
nope...
I once saw an anon say that if a game makes Ganker mad it’s a good game. That piece of advice hasn’t steered me wrong yet.
Like I said there are a lot of understandable things that can make people not like the game. I get it. I also have my takes on what are the things that should have been or whatever.

For me it's people saying that it's anywhere near the level of trash like XIII or XV
itt: yoshitpissers
So what will the DLC be about considering Clive is confirmed to be dead
>spoiler
Confirmed where
Right there in the ending. Stop coping.
but the ending says otherwise
He's not, but probably Leviathan related
That's northern mothercrystal though shivas domain or what was.
nah there's multiple npcs talking about that "weird crystalized wave" and you can have a convo about it with the bard in Northreach
That's on me. I got tired of the bards. Appreciated
Probably about Dion or Joshua. Or maybe Cid? Yoshi-P wants to make Cid playable so Cid prequel DLC might happen. I personally want coop patch.
Cid DLC sounds the most plausible because it's most likely going to give us more Barny and Bendikta, as well as the Cid vs Dion fight (where we can finally witness semi-primed Dion).

Maximillian Dood said he likes the game but XV is better.

CHINGER
is it controversial to say that the ending of 15 was better than 16?
the final boss battle was obviously better in 16 tho

The Hideaway... Home.
It was enjoyable
It certainly had its share of issues in some spots with its interlude moments between major story beats.
Gay kiss tho, you're a fricking homo.
Projecting too hard bucko.
Dion is based in spite of being a homo. Saying otherwise is definitive proof someone hasn't played the game
Who cares. Dion was out to kill anyone that was trying to destroy his family and did not even hesitate.

I honestly felt bad ditching Ramuh for Titan my first time through
Yeah i did too, Titan was too good to pass up and I wasn't dropping Garuda or Phoenix
thanks anons
It took me a minute to get Odin down pat but Rift Slip + Dancing Steel, with all the attendant gear, gets the level 5 off really quickly with substantial damage.
I could never get on board with rift slip, always felt like a waste of a slot
Ramuh's blind justice can be a nice combo with aerial blast, but I hate how much space that tornado covers up so I'm not using it. Other than that, lightning rod combos well with pretty much anything

His ultimate does a shit ton of damage and Lightning Rod can easily double your staggering damage
>Lightning God's ultimate ability
>Rains thunders from the sky
>Somehow a single target ability
Yep, RPG team designed abilities.
Coming up on 2 months after release and I still can't get the heroic part of the hunt music out of my head, might be my favourite vidya ost in a long time.

this one? https://youtu.be/tZ1t1WlYEUQ
Yeah. Specifically 1:20 onwards, makes my hair stand on edge every time. So good.
there's no excuse for them scraping the awakening song man https://youtu.be/yr6PtdY0i7M?t=168
My favorite trailer song is ascension but it's not in the game too.
I can't think of any bad FF battle themes
Besides the obvious lightning rod combos to shit out damage, I’ve been loving thunderbolt for juggling or sustained damage. I usually use gungnir to set it up or any charged swing + rift slip.
>frogposter has a moronic nitpick
Not surprised
kys shill, spamming threads won’t save this flop.
Literally no one gives a frick about your lazy r*ddit post. Go the frick back homosexual.
terminally moronic
>I had fun
congrats for being a low standards npc Black person goycattle
NO, you did NOT!
Yeah I did
