It's called Redfall, comes out May 1st I believe. It's like a co-op zombie action game where you you can pick between one of FOUR characters with different abilities. It's getting HYPED up or has been for awhile and I don't know why, it looks awful. It's labeled as "open world" but it doesn't look or feel open world, and you can play it solo or with friends, I guess if you play it solo then the AI controls the other characters.

My guess, purple is closely linked to neon, which is seen as futuristic or points toward the future. It could be that the association with 'future' type imagery like purple-neon is how they hint visually that the game is 'forward-thinking,' or to say it another way, progressive.

Real problem is studios grow way too fast based on one or two games, hire a bunch of people, and clearly cannot sustain the growth anymore or even maintain what they have. It's a result of biting too much.
