I hate this POS

I've been trying to finish it for 3 years now but I play a mission every 3 months and I'm too tired to give it another go. I seriously hate this. Who the frick thought the whole Mother Base thing was a good idea? Who would devote all the time to micromanage all this nonsense? It seriously feels like a mobile game. The same rehashed stages, minimal and stupid story, micromanaging to the brim, everything coming from logs and cassettes and whatever other bullshit.
And that is all without mentioning the tiresome
>CHAPTER
>STARRING
>WRITTEN
>DIRECTED
nonsense before and after each and every mission. Can't Kojima frick off to make some dumb Hollywood schlock with Kurt Russell and Keifer Sutherland and stop this shit? Christ...

MGS ended with 4, nothing past that exists. Not that shitty Peace Walker game, not this. 1-4 and that's it.

Shit people who sucked at the game say. This is the best stealth action simulator ever made. Nothing can even touch MGSV in terms of gameplay and even if the story isn't the best of MGS or anything it still shits on pretty much all of the other games coming out these days. Mechanics aren't ""bloated"" you're just bad at the game like I already said.

    >Can't Kojima frick off to make some dumb Hollywood schlock
I've been asking myself since MGS4. That "game" had only about 3 hours worth of gamepaly and 12 hours worth of cutscenes. Death Stranding is the epitome of Kojima's obsession with Hollywood.

Game is much better if you ignore all morality and only use lethal weapons. Except stealth camo and Grey Fox suit, there is no reason to care about Motherbase progress. Africa map is 99% empty flat. And game somehow continue after final boss. Compared to GZ, it is strange how much they frick it up. They made perfect vertical slice and made empty open world instead. Game could be so much better. And to make it even worse Konami made crystal zombie spinoff instead continue MGSV. I will never buy anything from Kojima ever again.

Metal Geargays are subhumans who unironically think plot in videogames matters, so i'm very glad this franchise died, not just with MGSV, a game with no plot, but with Survive too, a zombie survival crafting game.

The history around the series is that some asiatic really wanted to make movies and couldn't because he's a hack, so he went for a series with much lower standards and everyone was mind blown at how a game could have 30 minute cutscenes.
Then he did the bare minimum for the gameplay and that's it.

theres an extremely long list of novelties that the MGS series has that no other stealth game has. You can say the games suck but you're just objectively wrong if you say "bro they didn't even DO anything". I bet you couldn't even point out what makes Splinter Cell special, and I like those games more than MGS.

Not him but the surreal, often wacky tone. I personally think this has led to numerous moments of cringe, such as the Boss' defection scene, but it also led to the defining moments of the series, like the introduction of Psycho Mantis. I also enjoy Splinter Cell more, and it grates me when MGSgays parade them around as good stealth games, but those games obviously still have value, even if it's not the same as Splinter Cell or Thief.

MGSV should have stop it's obsession with stealth and focus more on being an arcade-ish ArmA 3.
Should have let you do things like deploying with a squad, ordering it around, deploying with your entire army, pilot naval vehicles and aircraft, have far bigger maps and let you do things like rapelling or breaching into buildings.

MGSV is better suited towards milsim than the same old sneak through corridors shit from prev MGS games.
Besides, they always kept saying that Big Boss is a soldier, not an agent, no reason to perpetually stick to stealth.

game is fun, dumped nearly 100 hours on it these past 2 weeks according to steam. Story is pretty good in the beginning then i assumed by the end of chapter 1 it'll be like peace walker where the last loose end gets tied by playing side ops but you get harder versions of previous levels and a few original levels which is better i guess. I didn't care much because i didn't have any expectations of chapter 2 so maybe that's why i don't mind it (story still leaves much to be desired) and i think chapter 3 isn't a thing, yeah it exists but i think it's more of an ending thing like in death stranding where it's just a title name but it offers nothing new and it's just there to show that you can still play the game. It may have one of the weakest stories in mgs but it has the best gameplay

You can adjust the chopper landings and credits so you just spawn in the field as soon as you deploy.

I think on paper the managing of MB could be fun but it lacks better descriptions for the functions of the divisions, the professions of the soldiers and their abilities.

Also, Chapter 2 was for the most part pointless, they should've just take the 2 original missions from it and integrate them into part one, and make all missions replayable with the random constraints (no weapons, full stealth).

I played the game for 600+ hours, however I agree it's mostly a shitty game. I enjoyed it and it's fun to mess around with the AI, but it's more like a tech demo with multiple levels than an actual game, every mission feels too isolated from one another and the game itself feels isolated from other metal gear solid games.
Even Peace Walker feels like a stranger to V, all the characters are traumatized and feel like husks of their former selves, I know that's what Kojima intended but I wish he had wanted to create a comfy game instead of this misery.

      Anonymous

4 had real guns with real mechanics that are extremely autistic and fun to play around with. insane detail. V has fake guns, one size ammo that fits all rifles (like srsly, how was this even a game in the same series), garbage guard AI from the series where previously shooting radios disabled comms, each individual limb could be shot crippling a guard, aiming different places got unique reactions in holdups etc etc in V this has literally all been removed, and you can "disarm" a guard repeatedly, ad nauseum, forever, as a little pile of pistols pile up beside him. It's insane that it's actually got "metal gear" in the title because it is barebones jank at best when it comes to AI, the cornerstone of the series and one of the most revolutionary aspects of these games (whose footprints are these?). It's crazy too that, thanks to the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, it's now illegal in 17 states.

That being said, what gameplay there was in 4 was much more interesting than anything in V, by a landslide. For gun nerds, it has some of the most fascinating and true to life animations/reloads and just general gunplay of any game, ever. A lot of work went into those mechanics, and they're pretty interesting to see at least. MGSV in comparison is dogshit at best.

Kojima rising to prominence is a complete accident. He was simply a fan of Action movies from Hollywood and decided to make what he thought would be a grand blockbuster America, it was, because he was copying the most basic elements of action movie formulas in a way that couldn't be fricked up. After he succeeded he started putting more and more Asian influences and his own ideas into the franchise until it became this mutated freak mutt of a story. I feel like this happens frequently with Japanese creators, is they start off with western ideas and slowly become gibberish. Soul's Miyazaki, whoever the frick wrote final fantasy, probably like thirty other JRPG directors

Tl Dr Kojima is a hack

      >be white European
      >be immersed in white European philosophies, governmental forms, and architecture styles throughout your schooling but don't pay attention
      >see Japanese take on it
      >"oh wow, so interesting, very exotic"

You are old enough to not hold such stupid pedestrian opinions, the ability to reference other works and cutltures and put it together in a new, marketable and fun package is not trivial, before MGS1 Kojima had been doing this shit for a while, iterating in his designs until culminating in that masterpiece.

No, you're too young to understand that you are the real pedestrian.

Oh and also for the first metal gear game he literally stole a screenshot of the film Aliens and used it as the cover art for the box of Metal Gear. I'd call that extraordinarily trivial mixing and matching from an Asian copywrite violator who rose to prominence in the 80s as a thief

    >literally everybody just wants a base building sim where you play as big boss building outer heaven.
    >Kojimbo inexplicably decides that the primary goal of making the game is to answer how snake killed big boss twice, a question nobody has asked and could have just been handwaved away in a single line of dialogue
    >Doesn't even finish the game because he got shit canned for blowing insane amounts of money licensing songs, modeling horse anuses, and hiring Hollywood actors so he can larp as a film director.
