I have 200 hours on the switch version, and I have a friend willing to pay for half the base game and sunbreak for pc just to play with me.

Here's a non-cheat shortcut: use bow guns or bow and join hunts via SOS to clear keys. You can cheese your way through the game quickly this way.

you can use cheat engine to give yourself 1500 attack and kill monsters in under a minute
you can also use cheat engine to forge armor without materials, give yourself max money, a ton of materials, and edit your talismans to the rare and useful ones you have on switch
It'll take you like 8-10 hours, but it's better than another 200 hours
You can just use Defender gear to blast through base Rise in a day or two now that it goes all the way up to late high rank. It's there for newbies, returning players, and people switching platforms.

Do the new maps run like shit for anyone else? I can play the game comfortably at a near constant 144 FPS but the jungle and citadel will regularly make it drop into the 40s range and I have no fricking clue why.

They buffed the frick out of it, literally doubled it's damage (they just hit twice now), the charge is way faster and I'm pretty sure the stun values got increased.

What is the tactic for playing with GS and GL now? Before for GS it was just position right and go for big hit, but now there's some come thing and I can't understand it for shit. And for GL I just used to fly at monsters or do that swipe wirebug move and do basic combo. Did it change at all with sunbreak or no?
I use rage slash + regular charge combo on my base skill set, and TCS + surge slash on my other one. The idea is that one is full of super armor moves and easy to use when the monster is normal, then when the monster is down or whenI want to cut/break a specific part of it, I swap to the TCS moveset. I might do the opposite tho at some point and put rage slash on the surge slash moveset since the character moves a lot when attacking.
If I grab a Gold Wirebug then grab a regular Wirebug, do I still have the Gold one's bonuses or does the regular Wirebug override it?

I was wearing a mix of MR 3-4 gear when I fought Malzeno and he took 50% of my HP off with his biggest attack, while I was Guarding with GL + Guard Up 2 (50% damage reduction).
Because they refuse to use common sense and make damage a flat % + player's defense and elemental defense. So instead you get a game where you ruin all your fun the moment you use a single armor sphere

Elemental is still king as far as maintaining Amped, but 2-Stage Morph and the counter definitely helps Power Phial. It gets more mileage from the Power Axe buff after Heavy Slam due to the slower Amp charge too.

Yes, the two moves listed help. Counter gives instant amp stated if landed properly and the full 2-Stage Morph gives a decent chunk if both morph attacks land.
Also if you get the Healing Clover Bat skill for your Palico, you can spam the shit out of ZSD since you can heal through whatever damage you take, while also increasing the healing rate from the attack itself.

Yeah in both new zones my frame rate tanks. Mostly in Jungle its in the cave with the waterfall (where you fight most monsters...) and in Citadel its kinda all over the place. I haven't updated my drivers yet. Nvidia apparently has an update for them.

The bug only applies if you have Lottery Box or Felyne Powered-Up equipped, everything else is fine. Also, your "perfect" Palico won't be ruined regardless since you get to freely choose your support moves and skills now.
Nope, there's no save editor. But they added Defender Weapons or whatever they're called for people like you. Or you can cheat a 9999 attack weapon and beat the entire base game in an afternoon.

If anything so far espinas was a tiny bit underwhelming but that just makes it a comfy fight. Also helps that any weapon that can block has an easy time against the fireballs which seem to be the gimmick.

I mean not just the monsters, even the new wirebug moves or even the more interesting gear feels like it's all been jammed in the back, instead of being better spread. (obviiously i'm not asking for endgame shit in the beginning but more of a better feel of progression instead of nothing and then suddenly a spike)
They give you a new silkbinds for every single weapon type at the start of MR freshening things up from HR, along with two new silkbinds around MR3 to vastly open up your moveset. Gimmicky and unique skills like Master's Touch and Hellfire Whatever are available as early as MR 2 as well.
I am not really sure what more you could ask for, this is probably the only time I can even recall there being a benefit to crafting armour in the first half of each Rank at all. Most people just build Velociprey/Bone/Rathalos/etc or aim for their weapon's respective skills (Guard, for example) and then just brute force it because there's rarely ever anything worth crafting at all until later.

No seriously, on what planet is lance meant to be hard? You face the enemy, hold block, and you're invincible. I get that doing hunts quick with it isn't easy, but in terms of pick up, don't triple cart, complete the quest, the only thing that feels easier is light bowgun.

Yes. Roughly a half of your damage is based only on the weapon's attack rating (ZSD and SWB). Maintaining sharpness is a much bigger issue than having a bit of additional crit power.

right now I have the overhead slam and the new combo from wild swing on both, then on my default I have the armored axe one to get through their initial roar and compressed discharge for building giraffe
gauge and then I have swb and zsd on the other which I usually switch to once my gauge is full
I really like the armored axe move and compressed since they both have armor and let me facetank a lot of shit while still doing damage, and the axe skill gets phial explosions when you have meter too

I use the first set which is just "monster is moving and I need movement" with the new movement skill + counter + compressed discharge and the other is soaring wyvern and the classic long discharge + gauge refill for when I down the monster

They added AI hunters to Frontier after a while too, so I get the feeling this feature is being trialled both for new DD pawn behaviours but also to gauge the reaction on NPC party members in mainline Monster Hunter. Everyone seems to like the follower quests in Sunbreak so far, so I think there’s a good chance the feature will return in MH6 and that DD2 pawns will be able to pull off some wacky stuff.

I wish seregios's set's special ability worked. Feels like I always dodge too early or am slightly too far away for it to activate and sharpen my stuff. Full malzeno set seems pretty good for a lot of weapons, wirebugs feel like they take longer to come back and the other skills on it are great too.

You can get some great figures from the sonic event quest (lol) and a few Requests/Deliveries grant you them. MR has a gold Hermitaur and Astalos for example.
Posters are gained when you kill enough of a certain monster or through progression. Also you can decorate your room with your degenerate photos with a frame and everything.

I don't think anybody ever said Gore was hard at all, Shaguru Magala is hard because of the element of randomness (RIP RNG Explosions) + he's a constant Gore rage state with an extra rage above that. Chaotic Gore Magala is tougher because he's a much higher stat Gore Magala with a lot less downtime and few moveset changes, but Gore has always been an average level of difficulty.
He's nergigante before nergigante in as much as sharing the skeleton and being the visually imposing glass cannon punching bag monster that spends half the fight sprawled flailing across the ground cause you nicked his shins a little too hard.

Yeah even mainline monster names in Japanese range from alright sounding to borderline unpronounceable by most English speakers, when the localisation team isn’t busy making stuff up completely they usually do a good job capturing the feeling and meaning of a monster’s Japanese name while making it possible for people who aren’t accustomed to Nip phonetics to pronounce properly. Barlagual as you mentioned was Baruragaru until a few weeks ago, not difficult to say but a bit of a mouthful. Then you’ve got shit like Gureadomosu, Kuarusepusu, Keoaruboru and so on. I really want them to localise as many of these names as possible.
Some of the names would probably be pretty easy too

How much is the sharpness worth in damage? For example if I build a new weapon that has higher damage, but the sharpness goes down from white to blue. How much higher does the damage need to be to off set the sharpness loss?
Look up the sharpness modifiers. For your case white is 1.32 and blue is 1.2 so going from blue to white is a 10% increase.
Also look up the full Effective Raw formula to see how to take affinity into account.
not sure if this helps but a purple sharpness ls soloed naracuga while 3 whites killed a rathian in my last hunt. that was my only experience with sharpnessin sunbreak, but it looks like purple sharpness is paramount.

EE2 is perfect but i honestly really like EE3
would you rather have 2 power prolonger and 1 ee or 1 pp and 2 ee?
EE1 helps a lot, EE2 is perfect, EE3 is a ton of fun but the evade distance is increased to such a degree that a lot of the time I roll way too far and out of attacking distance to the monster in fighting, so it can actually be a detriment at times. EE2 is the perfect balance, but even if you can only manage to get EE1 it still helps a ton.

EE2 personally but I was mostly being hypothetical, the number of scenarios where you can get EE1 but not EE2 are absurdly small.

i'm pretty sure it was, do you cheat for talismans in rise too? the point of content like that is to keep hunting addicts engaged in something when they've finished everything else, it's not necessary. in no point of the game are you required to farm kulve for her weapons, you can use literally anything else for any other given situation. you cheated for her weapons because you wanted the slight damage increase that you could've done without.

Okay, I haven't paid any attention to this game since reveal cause joycons suck ass, I'm tired of paying for pre-G rank versions, and I wasn't happy about what they did to the HH.
I've picked it up on steam to play with some friends and the HH isn't as bad as I expected, but I can't seem to think of any reason why you would ever use the alternate version of the HH.
