I have a game theory, game devs intentionally make their games 100+gb as an anti piracy measure or something, poor people have slow internet and limited disk space so they won't even bother downloading the pirated game. What are your game theories?

Sweaty...
Good. Frick thieves.
Let me guess, you bought the harry potter gaem to own the leftists even though you don't like harry potter?
>xhe is STILL triggered by hogwarts legacy
Best use of 70 dollars ever.
Poor people don't buy the fricking game but piracy creates potential customers
Good luck explaining that to AAA companies
I don't play games above 20GB.
If the developers are so bad at programming, optimization, efficiency and common sense that they can't even fit their game into 20GB, they most likely don't have the ability to make a good game anyway.
Ball mice despite being superior to opticals were only banned because of that one tech executive's son died choking on one
>Ball mice despite being superior to opticals
Lmao
People who think ball mice were better than optical have never used one themselves.
During my time in Unreal Tournament I've missed a kill and got killed instead like once per week because of a fricking hair on my mousepad.
This is true, ball mice are superior at collecting dirt off your desk.
I miss taking the ball from the mouse and hiding it and when my friends would ask, "Where's the ball for the mouse?" I'd bend over, shake my butt and shout, "Gee, I wonder where it could be?".
Did you want him to frick you in the ass?
I remember someone else pointing out how COD hogs harddrive space so its the only game you have on your console, guess piracy prevention is a secondary effect as well
It's a poor theory.
Internet is only expensive in NA. Because everything in NA is priced extremely high.
Turd Worlders can easily download terabytes.
>claim to be first world
>no unlimited internet as standard
Kek
If you look at the prices, for this service and others, as a European, you will be shocked.
As others have put it: North America is a sheep-shearing factory. You make more money and get drained at speed even faster than that.
I wouldn't say it is an intentional antipiracy measure but I would be lying if downloading anything larger than 50GB has been a major deterrent with how slow my internet is. I will be upgrading to fiber fairly soon.
is the overall system bloat also in your theory? just pay the premium for shittier games
alternatively:
>pirate shitty aaa game (rdr2)
>download at gbps
>play for 30 minutes
>bored out of fricking mind, uninstall because 0 sunk costs
>time and money saved
i think they do it so that the games takes up too much space on our limited hard drives and we won't be tempted to download and play another game.
Did you know poor countries have better internet connections than US on average?
>I have a game theory
but that's just a theory. a game theory, go have a nice day!
I'm rich and pirate games. You don't stay rich by buying frivolous shit that can be had for free.
The government is ordering publishers to make shitty games so people will start hating vidya and become wageslaves.
i vaguely remember when GTA 5 came out that the devs said they intentionally made the game be 100+gb (which was frickhuge at the time) by having a shitload of uncompressed audio and pirates just compressed it themselves.
