Raging Bolt, a paradox Pokémon based on Raikou that's going to shit on the shitty trope of sauropods being weak.

Who says sauropods are weak? They’re fricking huge

        What's why it's a shitty trope.
Sauropods were likely the most dominant dinosaurs that ever lived.
They just get downplayed because they were vegans.

ok so basically its the past form of Raikou but also not really cause even though its themed after the past its ACTUALLY an imaginary pokemon brought to life by weird crystals, it was what dumb old explorers and any other people might have imagined what Raikou looked like in the past and thus it has vague "ancient" themes incorporated into the design, for most of them its just vague dinosaur of caveman stuff.

But also THATS confusing because the explorers drew a combination of the legendary beasts as what they imagined they might find in area zero, not weird dinosaurs, so its kind of unexplained.

    yeah.

The Paldea region is divided into various "Areas", and at the center is the Great Crater of Paldea, "Area Zero". Myths and legends state that great treasure can be found there, and empires in Paldea have risen and fallen searching for the treasure said to lie in there.

One day, an expedition team lead by a man named Heath delved into Area Zero to try and find the truth (and treasure). There, they encountered strange monsters that resembled Pokemon from the outside world, but twisted and distorted. Pokemon that looked almost dinosaur-like, and Pokemon that resembled combat robots. These Pokemon were highly aggressive and the wounds they inflicted wouldn't heal. The team continued on and found mysterious glyphs, iridescent crystals emitting a strange energy, and Heath found himself writing designs and occult graphs that he couldn't remember writing afterwards. The team speculated on what other Pokemon in Area Zero might look like, and sketched out a design for a robotic version of the Swords of Justice, and prehistoric version of the Legendary Beasts.
Heath's documentation of their journey was recorded and published as the Scarlet and Violet Books. They became famous, then were ridiculed as nonsense, and then became part of Paldea's history.

Come hundreds of years later in the modern era, the two professors Sada and Turo became obsessed with the books and the Pokemon within. They took a team and spelunked into Area Zero themselves, finding the crystals detailed in the books. They used the crystals to construct a time machine, to catch those strange Pokemon in the far-distant past and far-distant future, and bring them here to the modern era. The two professors accidentally created a robotic clone of themselves though reactions with the strange crystals, and died in an attack by the strange Pokemon. The AI Professors left behind task the player with stopping the time machine to prevent the weird Pokemon from breaching Area Zero and becoming invasive species, then leave through it with the activation key themselves before it shuts down.

However, afterwards the player's friends note that things don't fully line up. How did Heath see these Pokemon in the past, before the time machine was built? How are new weird Pokemon popping up after the time machine was shut down? What's the truth behind Area Zero? The Raikou in the OP is one such Pokemon, a Pokemon supposedly from the far-distant past. Is it actually Raikou's ancestor, or something a legendary Pokemon created to satisfy a desire to see these kinds of Pokemon? We just don't know yet.

A giraffe Raikou? What the frick?

I was thinking the same thing when I first seen it.

It's based on the classic japanese mythical creature the Kirin.
The Kirin is closely associated with thunder, and therefore Kishimoto who wrote Naruto-themed Sasuke's big ultimate lightning technique Kirin as well.
Kirin are also the name for modern-day giraffes.

I understood why people didn't like Okidogi and Munkidori, but I'm not sure why I'm supposed to hate this one. Is it just because long neck = silly? It's just a yellow dinosaur with a scarf, it's so inoffensive.
