Visually speaking it's a slight improvement or a pretty bad downgrade depending on where you stand, a lot of the remixed soundtracks are bad (but new soundtracks can be nice I guess?). If there aren't difficulty modifiers and new pit or something it's really not worth it.
If they haven't advertised it, there probably isn't, even the SMRPG remake hinted at the new shit.
Disappointing, but I can't say I'm surprised, and though it got fricked with pretty hard, I'm glad it got released at all. I wonder if it'll be possible to mod it to replace it with the old script, that shouldn't be too hard if the engine doesn't make it difficult.
