I just bought Warhammer 40k: Space Marine. Is this game actually good or did I just waste 10 bucks? I've always wanted to get into the 40k universe and this looks like a good intro. I know enough about it that spess marines are badass as frick and want to just shoot xenos with the cool bolt pistol. Am I in for a good time or is this a waste of money?
WHERE THE FRICK ARE THE BLACK TRANS WOMXN?!
It's worth 10 bucks easily, fun for one play-through.
You already bought it. Will you refuse to start the game if we tell you its shit? Whats the logic here?
The logic is I'm asking the opinion of some underwater basket weaving forum for their opinion of this game you mouthbreathing moron. As I posted in the OP, I was also asking about how it does with sticking to the lore of Warhammer 40k. Learn to read, dipshit.
You sound like a moron
Well my mom calls me 'special' so joke's on you.
> I was also asking about how it does with sticking to the lore of Warhammer 40k
superficially vaguely okay, but if you are a lore nerd, terrible.
The games fun and you're a homosexual.
they’re still trying to sell it for $60 so $10 is good
I'd suggest you watch this instead. It's free and lol wiminz.
A bit hard on they eyes at first, but god the reward.
Its fun but you can tell it could have been so much more. Linear levels and clunky actions/movement... it drives me nuts. It's like 30% of the game it could have been.
Also
>Gold and blue
>Ultramarines
>No helmets
>Just three marines
Gets fricking old and lame. Not very lore accurate.
>>No helmets
Main characters never wear helmets. Wearing a helmet means you're weaker than someone without a helmet.
MAIM! KILL! BURN! MAIM! KILL! BURN! MAIM! KILL! BURN! MAIM! KILL! BURN! MAIM! KILL! BURN! MAIM! KILL! BURN!*
*What the frick did you just fricking say about me, you little b***h servant of the false emperor? I'll have you know I killed the top of my Legion of the World Eaters, and I've been involved in numerous Black Crusades agains the Imperium, and I have over 3.000.000 confirmed kills. I am trained in jokaero warfare and I'm the top teamkiller in the entire Chaos Space Marine forces. You are nothing to me but just another skull. I will slaughter the frick out of you with with brutality the likes of which has never been seen before in this galaxy, mark my fricking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, corpse worshipper. As we speak I am beseeching Khorne within the Eye of Terror and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the slaughter, cattle. The slaughter that will adorn my armor with your entrails and the foundation of the Skull Throne with your lifeblood. You're fricking mince, meatpile. I am already behind you, right fricking now, and I can rip off your head in over seven hundred thousand ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I a fricking nutcase, but I have a massive Relic Chainaxe and I will use it to its full extent to liquify your miserable ass for Khorne's pleasure, you little bloodsack. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fricking tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you khornedamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're fricking dead, weakling.
It's fun. Goes a bit downhill after the orks are no longer the primary enemy, but still good throughout.
I beat it in about 8 hours and I had a blast from beginning to end.
you must suffer from a lack of impressive games.
It was peak Xbox 360-era 7/10 third person shooter. Fun, but not great beyond the novelty of the franchise it was attached to. Easily still one of the best 40k games.
It's good, could be more. They advertised "no cover", but when the chaos invasion starts you need to stick to cover if you don't want to be killed in 3 seconds. And the final boss is a qte
And i dislike the ork voices, mostly because they say SPOICE MUHRENES instead of beakies.
Its kinda funny, because Space marines obviously do use cover, especially vs CSM as they're just as lethal if not more at firefights
GET OFF MY SHIP, SPOICE MERREEN
how are they gonna call them beakies IF THEYRE NOT WEARING THE BEAK HELMS
USE YOUR BRAIN
Why don't you fricking play it if you bought it and find out?
Oh I'm sorry. I didn't know I wasn't on a board on an imageboard where we could discuss video games. I forgot this was all about console wars and tired arguments about how my franchise is better than yours. Let me step back into line, anon. I apologize. Your favorite game is shit and mine is infinitely better.
You are moronic. Why the frick would you purchase something then ask for an opinion on it? Why not ask first then get the game you low IQ Black person. As for the game, its ok all around. Its just like every third person shooter of its time, the guns feel good and impactful, the voice acting is good and the story is ok, nothing too crazy or tries to be more than it is, which is a typical 40k story of space marines go so where, kill things then some twist or whatever and then you kill the big bad. The game gets annoying around the end when you entcounter chaos as they take a lot more bullets and firepower to kill but overall a solid 6.5 or 7/10 game. The multiplayer is fun but super laggy as it uses P2P but the horde game mode is a lot of fun even with randos.
I’m trying to get into Warhammer media as well. The world looks so cool but most of the games just aren’t my thing. Space Marine 2 looks good from the short gameplay we’ve seen so I have to play the first one
Just about my only gripe with it was no shoulder swapping for aim. It's annoying once you get to areas of the game where you really could use cover but need to look the other way, but I suppose you're meant to be rushing while ripping and tearing through your enemies anyway.
I've spent a lot of time listening to the lore and the 40k universe is soulful, but I'm not really into tabletop or the strategy games - and most of the other games usually end up being mediocre. Space Marine is good, though.
If you wanted to play a 10 year old shooter, it's pretty alright. You wont get to know to much about the setting thou. Telling it and maybe getting inmersed, yes, but you will learn absolutely jack shit from anything. You can inmideatly spot who is it that you need to kill, but you won't get much context as to why besides "they are killing everyone, just fricking kill them".
Don't expect an explanation of " Who the frick are these spiky boys? They don't look like orks. "
As of story, besides some details around, there isn't much to this game.
But as of gameplay, it's really fun. You got your oversized guns, a few melee weapons, a few heavy guns you find laying around, and if that wasn't enough already you got some sections where you can use jet packs powered by mininukes.
Titus is a badass that can ripntear through armies by himself.
You also got executionstinishing moves when stunning enemies which feel pretty damn good.
The OST is amazing in some parts and other it might be to quiet.
Bosses are shitty thou, usually a puzzle or a shitty quick time event, so it's better to consider this doesn't really have bosses at all.
And in case you finish the campaign, multiplayer it is still sorta alive, but mostly quick matches, like king of the hill or team death match. The best part is you can still use the jetpck in multiplayer.
its a solid, if somewhat generic, third person action shooter/slasher
easy 7/10 game
>How do I get into dnd
<read the players handbook
>how do I get into dredd
<read the progs
>how do I get into warhammer
<play some literal who spinoff video game or watch gay youtube videos
why are you like this?
Go play Exterminatus mode, it's pretty fun.
Just don't play assault class unless you know what you're doing.
I swear, noob assault marines radiate cancer.
>Is this game actually good
no, not really.
>did I just waste 10 bucks?
not really either.
it is "meh, okay I guess".
Found it in my library a week ago an finished it in 3 sessions. Pretty good, but a bit short. The multiplayer didn't entice me. Hope the sequel will let you use cover.
>bought game
>is this good?
Just play the game, make your own fricking opinion. Or maybe, ask that question before you spend the money on it.
Also getting worried about spending 10'4, that's like buying a shitty meal at a restaurant type of money.
That's funny, my copy arrived yesterday. Need to give it a cleaning and then test to see if it works. No idea when I'll get around to playing it.
frick this pic makes me so heterosexual right now.
Momiji will do that
it has aged weirdly, but its an okay game
What do you need me to explain? The height?
?t=303
>heals himself by viciously killing enemies in melee combat
He's touched by khorne
no, he is invigorated by his service to the emperor and fights on despite his injuries.
common saint stuff.
One of the best games of all time, and easily the best WH or 40k game ever made.
it's pretty shit tbqh
